For the record, I downloaded Done for Me and Can You See My Heart and I ALSO research the heck out of a show to see what type of ending it has. In my mind, I like to think HDL had a happy ending, but you are absolutely correct, open ending does not equate happy ending. I have not watched Guardian for the reason I hate the Untamed ending.....too open and not at all like the book. I don't think my heart can take that again. So just know......I too, think like you!
As self-described captain of Team Runyu, I agree with you. He's a boat load of complications. Here is a really wonderful character that moves from good to bad to good. His brother says it best when towards the end he lectures him on his scheming........Sigh.....I still love Runyu and his tortured soul best.

Well....hmmmm. If you didn't like her by episode 3, YWCFTS is not for you. She's kind of like a Lucille Ball...slapstick comedy. She's that way in Legend of the Blue Sea too. That's why I like her. She's not afraid to do stupid things that make her look ridiculous.

So I really liked but might disagree with your comment or find it a little painful. I am a HUGE Untamed fan, mainly for the characters, however, you brought up a great point. Would I have liked Lan Wangji the same if he wasn't played by the BEAUTIFUL Wang Yibo? I don't know. Do I think Xue Yang is hot? yes And don't get me started on Wei Wuxian (my favorite literary character ever).
Personally, I hope that no one has to deal with fans that hurt their career or personal lives (ahem.....poor Xiao Zhan), but I wonder if I would have loved this show as much if EVERY ENTIRE CHARACTER WASN'T SO GORGEOUS. So thank you Wandering_Queen for pointing out something that I am a little uncomfortable with....Is a show as good if the people in it aren't pretty. I don't know and I hope I would love the characters just as much, even if someone who looked like my brother (he's bald) played Lan Xichen (that image is making me laugh).
