This is so freakin' me right now. I tried BL for the first time and watched TharnType a week ago. look at me now.…
The novel is BL but the show isn't. That would never get by Chinese censors. But it is an incredible show. You won't be disappointed.

Just loved the girls night out karaoke. This show is definitely outside the norm and the 2nd show I've watched all the way through while it was airing. I think I now prefer binge watching. I hate waiting for episodes.

With the exception of Ashes of Love (and on paper it looked like it was written especially for me), I'm always…
Oh....so do I. So do I. (I do go back and re-watch episodes between starting new dramas (just saying.....classics are classic for a reason.)

I have to say you are on point on Touch your Heart and throw in on the list Pinocchio as well. Love the show after…
Loved loved loved Korean Odyssey. Its a Hong Sisters show (yes I wrote an article on them). They also wrote Hotel Del Luna which I loved. Very different from the standard K drama. There is always Strong Woman Do Bong Soon which is slightly silly and cute but....much different than what you're hooked on.
I typically rotate with C-dramas because they are so different. If you haven't tried one, give Eternal Love or The Untamed a try. They are long but will clear the mind making it easier to get into new K-dramas. Good Luck.

Is the drama that good? I cannot stand Sean Xiao's acting. I like Wang Yibo better, but he's also still stiff…
One thing that I learned about MDL is not everyone who is on the website agrees with me.....go figure. I can tell you the story is beautiful, the music is outrageously good, and there is no bad actor in the bunch (except may be the guy who plays Su She because he annoys me and is whiny). That said.......This is faster paced than almost any Wuxia I have seen so that might be helpful. If you don't like Wuxia, then this might not be for you. If you do...wow.

I loved the character of Wei Wuxian because Sean Xiao was so engaging. And Wang Yibo....holy cow. You have to watch his expressions because he doesn't have a lot of dialogue. That is true to the character in the book. Lan Zhan is supposed to be stiff an unyielding. The side characters are insanely good. Watch it just for Jiang Chen and Xue Yang the two best supporting characters.

What to watch after "The Untamed"? any Wuxia recommendations that is as magnificent as this series?
Don't bother trying. You'll only be disappointed. I tried Eternal Love of Dream and had to stop because it just wasn't the same. I suggest something from South Korea, Japan or Taiwan. I'm working on Legend of the Blue Sea and The Descendents of the Sun both from SK and far from The Untamed. And it doesn't always work. If I watch one episode of a new show , I reward myself with another Untamed episode to rewatch. I think its a psychological condition that is not easily cured.

Watched almost all high-rated C-dramas but still haven’t watched The Untamed since I am not very fond of BL.…
There isn't any BL content unless you use your imagination. The hardest scenes for me to watch were the ones with all the blood and guts. Other than that, you won't be turned off......I promise. There are many many many reasons to watch this show.....but that's another article.

The Untamed caused a lot of "firsts" for me including my first MV and youtube video ever which I worked so hard…
I am loving all the fan videos on YouTube!!

I haven't watched this yet, I'm extremely hesitant because I feel like if I watch this I will be throwing myself…
I too procrastinated watching this for many months. I can't tell you how much this show touched me and changed how I perceive relationships. Give it a try just for the reason of it gives such depth and heart to family relationships of all types. I think its worth it just for the family stories.

I've fallen into a deep deep show hole too...after watching 'Ashes of Love' and 'Goodbye, My Princess'. Idk if…
Try Touch Your Heart. Its some fan candy for those who loved Goblin and a lot more light-hearted. Or watch any of the Taiwanese shows highlighted in my recent article. I did them in a row and that prepped me for The Untamed and that one about killed me. I'm still wallowing in the beauty of that show. I am on my 4th time thru.

Just found Ashes of Love on Netflix. We like it but the female lead is obnoxious and not as attractive as some…
oh boy are you in for a treat. Don't read my articles on Ashes of Love until after you watch it. Jinmi is one of the best written female characters out there. She changes so much.....its just insane to watch. At one point, you'll be longing for the old Jinmi.

Just finished Ghost Bride (Taiwanese)...heard of it? Give it a try. Kinda scary, kinda strange, but has an ending that has me hoping for another 6 episodes. Don't forget Ashes of Love....escapism on steroids.

Definitely, Eternal Love! Mark Chao is my dream man. I just finished watching the last episode of The Pillow Book,…
That's awesome. I am on episode 5 of Ghost Bride. It's my first Taiwanese drama.

Okay. Sorry it took me almost a year to find this article. You are spot on! I love all 3 of your examples and feel very strongly about the double standard out there towards female and male actors.

Ji Eun Tak was beautifully done. I mean who could shine next to the goblin and grim reaper? She did! She was a memorable character that doesn't get the credit she should because Kim Go Eun is not Gong Yoo or Lee Dong Wook.

I'm sorry people disagree but I just loved Jin Seon Mi. Just the right amount of comedic timing and strength that made her just as compelling as the male character played by Lee Seung Gi.

Thanks for your thoughts on this!
