Technical information can only refer to facts. Costume fantasy on Tencent; Action and Adventure (13+) on Netflix. Adapted from a romance (m/m). China censoring romance is a MISCONCEPTION. The relationships in danmei adaptations are portrayed differently from other dramas, and however they are explained, the only way to understand it, would be to watch.
This is a Romance for me and has been from he moment one I watched it (without knowing anything about the novel at the time or anything written on any platform). But if I have to give technical information, to be fair to the person I am recommending this to, then, it's the information provided by filmmakers.

I only read it today, to see what it says. Hadn't read before I watched:) And I am happy to read from someone, that some parts should be left to come as surprise. Agree completely!!!

πAnd, if you read the description, I want to make sure you know, they rarely put the emphasis on the right thing or give the right feeling. Watching and seeing by yourself is the best way:)
While we're waiting, I'm curious if anyone has released dramas similar to The Untamed, Word of Honor, Young Blood…

An actor whether at school or on the set, learns to Act. And not to act in or for a specific Genre, but to Act. But this aside, because this can be debated on another date and time, you should realize that what you are saying has nothing to do with a statement like 'suited or non suited... This kind of statement shows you don't understand the profession; that the term non-romance is already absurd, because romance isn't what one person imagines; that you don't realize, that acting isn't one man show; that you don't feel when a statement is highly amateur. As LWJ... Expressions, as any thing else, come from INSIDE. Because if they don't, they will never convince the viewer.
EDIT. I didn't neglect the rest and read carefully, what you wrote, but I just don't have time to write more. If there's a chance, we can discuss some more another time.
I'm pretty sure the articles here on MDL arent supposed to be free of the writer's opinion. If they think the…
This is absolutely correct. More than that. I think including a personal touch is better than listing filmography. But if we go down this road, then this Article doesn't have that touch. And as a reader, I expect more from an author than from other users, that is to speak up with substance.
It seems you have interesting ideas to write articles about. Why don't you try to write one?You can pitch your…
I didn't give ideas though, but talked about approach. If someone wrote an article about So Ji Sub, saying she would want to watch So Ji Sub in horror, discouraging someone to watch I'm Sorry I love you, or Jo In Sung, discouraging to watch What Happened in Bali (just examples),I'm afraid this person wouldn't be qualified to write about them. These dramas brought these actors, accolades, fame, RECOGNITION and are engraved in korean's memories FOR A REASON. And it would be a shame for the READERS (not the dramas). Nothing we write here has any impact on dramas or actors. I brought examples from older dramas so that you see the point. But when I click to read an article, I expect substance. This will be my last message.
Since there might be people here reading danmei... Does anyone know as to what happened recentlythat many translations disappeared from novelupdates? I went one day and realized, the chapters showed as 0 for many novels... What on earth happened there?

What does it mean for an actor to make growth in this or that genre? For example, Song Joong Ki, someone I like and everyone should know. He wasn't involved romantically in Sungkyunkwan Scandal (the bromance was nice:), neither in Deep Rooted Tree. Does this mean that after seeing his portrayal in these two dramas, we should have concluded that he isn't suited for a romance? I am still watching Luoyang, I have reached episode 17, since I am not watching alone and can't bingewatch it, unfortunately. But I will already tell you, that I see more emotion than 'responsibility', and find the couple extremely lovable thanks to Yibo, but also the Actress who I find quite cute and enjoyable to watch. Legend of Fei is a wuxia/romance, with a fair focus on the martial arts, since the story was about Fei becoming a legendary martial artist, after all. And Yibo, showed sides to him (including romantic side I enjoyed a lot:)), I hadn't seen before, and this is also a proof that he can transform. And I enjoyed Gank your heart, including the romance. You mentioned Gank your Heart wasn't wow. But does this mean that we can conclude that an Actor isn't suitable for a romance if his drama isn't a masterpiece? In which case, if I have dropped some of very popular romcoms on mdl, should I have come to this type of conclusions about Actors? Acting isn't a one man show... And last but not least, I wrote that even CQL was enough to know he is suited to be in a romance. Because the affection he showed as Lan Wangji isn't something anyone could have shown. The producer of the Untamed mentioned, it was hard for her to find a LWJ since it seemed like this character could never be 3D. And anyone who knows LWJ from the book will probably understand what she meant. And Yibo proved LWJ could exist, exactly because he has the heart and the skills to do it. Yibo doesn't only show his ability to transform in dramas but on stage. And therefore, he can play in anything. You need to know also, that, if this phrase was told about another actor on this list, I might have not replied but I would have disagreed. Even a Film Director won't pronounce this type of statements.
The term BL has different meanings based on country, context, etc. BL 'as in manga' or BL as in 'danmei' has certain characteristics (romanticizing for example). therefore it is not equivalent to homosexual. When it comes to MDL, users use it equivalent to all drama with male leads. But these dramas, in reality can be based on a source that's BL (genre) or not. Those who want to learn more, can refer to chinese sources rather than wikipedia and the like.
