Received my Book today... Arrived right for Chinese New Year day... ♥️ I've read HoB several times since I absolutely love it, but never in English. So this will be first time reading it in English and reading a physical book on top of all.📖

We should agree to disagree. But before doing that, I still need to give my opinion with something. That I don't think Hira was obsessed with anyone. Not more than ANY person in love. And I don't think that he had any issue, because, once again, he was never treated badly by the person he liked. And this is why, I explained that the characters cannot be taken out of their own context. For example a 17 year old boy telling 'you're sick' to another 17 year old boy in school, is not something 'evil':))) and therefore Kiyoi is as likeable for me as Hira. You are once again insisting on the fact that Hira looks like he would beg Kiyoi, which means you didn't only misunderstand the characters but the whole plot. Also, as I said you can't take the SET to another dimension. Human rights have nothing to do here, because this is a lighthearted romantic drama about two boys who are fluttered in front of the person they like... Do you speak of human rights when you watch 'you're beautiful', or 'coffee prince' or 'full house'? No. Because, it's absurd... And that absurdity applies to this drama too. If you try to bring all of the characters to your own dimension to understand them, what will happen is exactly the result here. That you will simply not understand them...

Hira... I'm really surprised that someone can hate Hira.. Because, apart from the main topic, this drama is, after all, also about accepting and understanding differences. Hira is different from others, because he stutters, but isn't he hundred times BETTER than his classmates? Instead of hating Hira for anything, shouldn't be hating his classmates for not understanding that stuttering isn't a reason to mock?There are many people in this world that do not like socialising with others, not because they are worse than others, or have le w self esteem, but because they are different. As to the relationship with Kiyoi... To me, Hira and Kiyoi are two high school students who like each other, but they do not know how to express it. I don't even think of this as of 'low esteem', because Kiyoi likes him after all, and treats him well. Sure, he asks him for a couple of drinks, but he also does it to keep him near and protect him. Kiyoi liked him and I didn't need to watch episode 5 to see his point of view to understand that...
The thing is, the most important here, and why I never understand anyone saying there is anything 'wrong' with the relationship.. Is that they do not treat each other 'badly', And the fact that Hira being in the 'bottom' of the class, does not expect someone who's 'on top' to like him back... This is a quite understandable doubt...This isn't something to hate anyone for...
I hate characters like Hira..they are pushovers with no sense of self respect when it comes to loving someone…

The first thing that is important is to remember that Fiction is never reality. It's a processed reality. Processed for the Screen. And the second thing is also that to understand a character, we can't take him out his own context and his reality, and put in another (including our own). We'll come to the wrong conclusions...
And something else, I'd like to say, is that, when watching this drama, it is important to understand the Japanese style... The same style that may apply to mangas, Cinema and drama... This type pf posts should be reported. And don't believe the person has a political agenda. If she or he did have a proper agenda, the place to discuss wouldn't be this page. After all, there are 'feeds, 'where a person can speak of more geneal issues. Even though, I don't think that even the 'feeds' are for that. And the 'way' to discuss should also be civilized. Koyoma's character is important to the story. We see a very different Hira when he's with Koyoma and that's extremely important. And we see how he is loved by someone, and he feels comfortable with the person, but there's no passion or love on his side. That difference, or rather CONTRAST, was cruicial:) And also, they needed a trigger to show their feelings...
Watching it a 4th time, what irks me is how much time is given to Koyama who is, yes, a cutie-pie. But who is…

Personally, I don't like speculations about directors or writers knowing this or that person... because, every time I have read something of the sort about a drama, I had an opposite opinion about the characters. A writer writes according to his or her vision, and then, the viewer agrees or doesn't agree with the choice. And as you can see, opinions can differ greatly. In fact, one of the things I love about the drama is that they managed to do a perfectly beautiful and romantic drama, according to their own criteria, and without any 'fanservice'. This is exactly what makes it perfect for me. But I won't debate on this, since, well, we can agree to disagree. I just wanted to give my perspective.

I agree that even coming from Beijing Bureau, this is worrisome. But what I meant is that this was a working conference, and beijing burea isn't Nrta after all. Where they voicing everyone's opinion? Would this become NRTA regulation? Out of curiosity, I checked the NRTA site, and while they talked about the conference, they didn't mention anything about it. Which might or might not mean anything. On the other hand, I am just trying to find some logic in all this. There were already talks agains danmai, and this 'political environment'should be perfectly known to the platforms. It's one thing that the fans, can get surprises about decisions, and regulations, but it's not the same about the producers and platforms. They should know about the decisions (even if it's decisions), before they happen... Therefore, the fact that they are continuing to shoot, doesn't this mean, we do not know everything? And since this was a working conference, may be by the time this call becomes regulation, it won't be a 'strict' law, but will be a 'set of rules' they should follow? I know exactly how you feel. The most violent dramas being the most popular sometimes, I don't get when people go on a page of romance, and throw in some words that do not belong there. It's not just 'bls', but ALL dramas in general. Do you see the same people complaining about too much violence, or serial killers, family members killing each other, or anything else? Apparently the evil in this world is asking someone for a drink:) If seriously... how to say this... criticism is something else to begin with. It's not throwing in a word, that doesn't bring you any honor, and much less being proud of hating a perfectly beautiful piece of art...
The dramas that got me into kdrama were Time between Dog and Wolf/MyGirl. The actor was Lee Jun Ki (even though I had seen a few good kdramas before)... The drama that got me into Cdrama was the Untamed. And the two leads of course:) (even though I had seen a few good cdramas before). And the drama that is about to get me to Jdrama is Utsukushii Kare. And the two leads, (even though I watched a few good jdrmas before this one). For me, there has always been one drama or actor, that managed to pulled me in completely. And this is why I'll recommend this drama even if you have never seen a jdrama or "bl" before.Because, I think, this drama can convince you that both of these worlds are for you:)

I liked a lot Kiera hotsukoi, but my love for it doesn't compare to this one.
I liked cherry magic but to me it does not have the charm of these two... It was simply a good watch...
