This 'news' is shared by many people on weibo (without any source or tags), but the strange thing is, it's not…
the thing is the 'news' come from several accounts when you check by a hashtag, but none has a source, or a link to the director's post. And I went to the director's weibo to see the original post, but it's not there. Isn't this strange? I mean, his picture, and account, all's there, but there isn't a post about the drama. The last post is from october or somewhere around then. I'll double check in a few days, because I am really interested. Love the Novel!
Apparently, they've finished editing the Drama but still needs to go through Review Board & possible other post…
This 'news' is shared by many people on weibo (without any source or tags), but the strange thing is, it's not posted on the director's weibo,.. I wanted to check what the original message said, and there are photos of the message on-line, but when you go to the director's weibo, there's nothing. Or, I can't find it, for some reason. Hm... Strange...
I wonder people who believe china bans danmei adaptations , what are they going to say, when the dramas air:) Because they will air:) And, they will be romances. EDIT I meant m/m romances, lol I believe there is no ban. Never saw one single credible official source... Not twitter, not youtube, not mdl, not a Journalist who mixed all together, not someone who said something. Credible, proper source.
That's too harsh a word I think .Every government does things that it shouldn't...
And I am not saying this because I think anything should be banned, but because when it comes to china, things always get exaggerated, twisted, misunderstood. etc
I am european by the way. But I think china has the same right to do a patriotic film, as an example, as US or a eropean country. But if a film is patriotic in china, it becomes an issue....
As to the censorship, this is also greatly misunderstood. But we can talk about this another time
Right now the real issue isn't whether you and I should choose to believe anything written on mdl, but wherher there is a credible source for the information. And it's not up to me to prove that the rumour isn't true. It's up to person who speaks of the ban to present an official source. The link presented is someone's article and not a source. And this journalist mixed everything together presenting as Government's position. Can you see a source in the article? I have read the chinese newspaper article where someone (someone i emphasize and not the government) wrote about values etc... But since when does an article represent government laws or even positions? If you choose something written by someone it's your choice. But it is still not 'information' without a source and that's the key here.
Sorry for the typos. Not easy to type on the phone.
The ban is a rumour unless someone provides a source. This is the key. Someone chooses to believe rumours. I never do.
It's never a good idea to learn about china from a foreign press. Or an unofficial source. It's amazing as to how much they misunderstand and mix things together. An individual writes an article in a newspaper and it becomes a government position. When the government article is about a complete different topic.
I never saw a single credible source or post about a ban in china.
Another thing to remember is that while some people are concerned with an issue, there are also people who wouldn't mind the ban and will keep bringing it up.
Therefore it's essential to sort the information received.
I want to watch this for the first time, can I just jump right into it? I keep hearing it can be super confusing…
This drama was watched billions of times... May be it was confusing for few, if you think globally? And new watchers for some reason...
I never felt confused when watching. I think you watch the first two episodes not understanding as to why some things are happening. But you also know it's meant to be that way. To me, this is a strength and not a weakness.. Because the drama has layers...
Also, the drama starts the same way as the book (mdzs). And that is very important for this work. I discovered the book after I watched the drama.
After the third episode, the story will be told starting from the past....
Don't read anything before or during watching. And if you want more information as you watch, you can ask here requesting not to spoil you when giving answers.

The "Master/Slave/Idolizing/Insulting relationship" going on between the 2 leads is not really my cup of tea,…
The reason I wanted to say something, is because IF I saw what you saw, it wouldn't be my cup of tea either. It is because I see the opposite of what you see that this is my cup of tea:) 🌗
It’s true I do find Hira’s character more relatable at first too until I found out they toned down his characters…
I don't know what you mean. But I mean, that your post should not read as generalizing to 'fandom'. This drama is praised within International' english speakng viewers without any misunderstandig whatsoever of the genre, relations or wording...
I relate to Hira's character a loooottt, but if someone would keep calling me stalker, gross, disgusting man I…
When watching a translated film, it's important to remember that a word has many different possibilities of translation. The subbers do not have that kind of time, nor, they might have that kind of skill if they aren't linguists to choose a better suiting word. Also, not only words have different meanings, but the meanings can have nothing to do with another. Hence the difficulty and subtelty of translation. But this aside...
You can call a friend something, a word, but it can have a thousand meanings,no ? You can tell it joking, you can tell it flirting, you can tell it to get a reaction, and... you can tell it, to hide your true feelings at that moment...
1. You could have written all of that in a dm to me privately like an adult would and not gone melodramatic "calling…
I am not screaming with caps but pointing to the important in the text since it's long. I don't think it's adminsbut approval staff appoving the descriptions, but whoever approves it, they can't watch every drama they approve. In any case, mdl guidelines tell that descriptions shouldn't have spoilers. You can't make everyone happy, that's true. But this isn't about liking or disliking your description, this is about spoilers. This is about people, who are going to read this description not knowing that there will be absolutely no surprise left for them, and that their experience is going to suffer greatly from knowing in advance how the character relationships and plot are going to develop. Why I didn't pm you? Because others brought it up, and your approach was 'they can decide not to read if they don't want spoilers'. If I wrote to you, were you going to believe me that this isn't the right approach? The rest is up to the approval staff.
About the current description being a big huge SPOILER about the whole plot, and your post below. "A synopsis is a summary of the plot and that may have spoilers. I changed it because none of the others presented what the series was actually about. A working synopsis and you can check this out on IMDb if you don't believe me, will have the entire story laid out (this one in fact, doesn't). It's supposed to draw the viewer in. Whether you choose to read it or not, it's your own choice. But a synopsis has to stay true to the story.
You have completely misunderstood IMDB guidelines about descriptions. IMDB differentiates between 📕OUTLINE Outlines provide a brief description of the storyline to help inform people of the events taking place in the title (one outline per title, shorter than 239 characters, etc) - SHOULD NOT INCLUDE SPOILERS - 📕SUMMARY Summaries provide a much deeper description and analysis of the storyline from start to finish. Should be longer than 239 characters? etc - SHOULD NOT INCLUDE SPOILERS 📕SYNOPSIS Should be a detailed description of the entire plot of the title, including spoilers, SO USERS WHO HAVEN'T SEEN A MOVIE OR MISSED AN EPISODE OF A SERIES CAN READ EVERYTHING ABOUT THE TITLE - Do feel free to include spoilers.
The description MDL provides is for people who 'plan to watch it'. You said it yourself, when you mentioned that it should be 'attractive'. But your description is the opposite of the attractive (apologies) because it is going to completely spoil people's experience. The reason why it is called a SPOILER. MDL allows us to even report comments, when they include spoilers, because it is NOT OK to DEPRIVE PEOPLE OF THE SURPRISES THE DRAMA IS GOING TO BRING. I am assuming that MDL guidelines do not tell that including spoilers in descriptions are ok.
