Utsukushii Kare changed Japan's dynamic from having this cute fluffy relationship bl to a realistic high school…
Just to explaing that 'bullying' here isn't classical bullying:) To me, it's not so much about being realistic as just being what I expect from a 'bl'. Either way, a must watch, for me.
I wouldn't believe everything I read on the net. Unless of course, coming from an ofiicial source.
I don't know here to start this conversation. I just wish that MDL viewers would understand that this whole 'censorship' doesn't work how they imagine it does.
First of all, 'censorship' or 'control' starts from the SCRIPT. And I am assuming that a director who already made military drama, a chief producer/former Colonel, etc... they know a thing or two about 'censorship', and make the drama already respecting what they need to respect. But more importantly, while making a movie, even the 'last amateur', won't make a drama and then cut parts, because it will never work. Editing is a long process. Aren't they able to at least decide what they are doing during the first cut, the rough cut, etc...
And in fact, aren't you saying, that, even if they made a 20 episode drama with all the footage, it could be perfect? And I agree.
You felt that you didn't understand characters motivations, but I never felt that way. In fact, I am really surprised, that in 25 episodes I have watched, not only they have managed to show the stories and motivations of the leads, but also of the side characters. There are rare dramas, where within time alloted to them, you can understand and sympathise with every character. And this is why I also said, that the choices of the director might be the best for one viewer, and, if you want, the worst for another, but this isn't about anything 'missing', because it was cut out for whatever reason.
I'll leave it at this. It's ok if you think otherwise. In fact, I am not writing because I want you to agree. I am simply writing to explain that there are 'opinions', there are 'facts' and there are 'rumours'. And it would be best not to mix everything together.

Getting license for 48 does not mean to air 48 episodes. Viewers should realize something that professional don't edit a film and then edit out:) Even an amateur won't do that making a film. A ten minute movie might be edited from a 10 hour footage. Should we also consider then than scenes are edited out?
This drama is telling '40 years of story'. One way or another, a viewer might feel that he or she wanted to see more of a part of the story. But it doesn't mean something is missing.. It just means the drama focuses on something else.
Personally, there isn't a second of this, where I felt something was 'missing'. Because I understand and agree with the director's choices.
I haven't started a new series since this series ended. Because I know that I will compare every drama I watch…
I know what you mean. But I think it's also rare dramas like this that make you want to watch dramas in the first place. Or revive your desire to watch.
My answer for you is very simple. The highlight for me is Xiao Zhan’s acting. He is an amazing actor. You should…
To be frank, your posts read to me more as expressing strong opinions rather than asking for recommendations. And on top of all, you don't seem to ask for opinions but 'justifications'. Why do you feel viewers need to 'convince' you to watch something by justifying anything? Isn't your watching or not watching only your gain or your loss? XZ has never played and probably will never play Mo Ran, as much as it would be interesting:) (Sorry, Feiyou, just a joke). As far as I am concerned, I'll stop here.
Just want to share as soon as I saw, a more accurate translation of the ED song [ follow ] than the one I saw…
I think people who might hesitate to watch the drama, should watch this video and they are sure to watch it fully. It gives an accurate feeling of the drama. Even watching just a bit of it...
Done. This company is the same which translated Mo Xiang Tong Xiu novels in english.I didn't buy the books but…
Currently reading MDZS sevenseasdanmei translation and soon to read HoB. The unofficial translation that existed for both cannot be compared to the new. In fact, if anyone would like to have an idea of the translation, you can do it if you have an ebook. There's a preview of around 15 pages for each book.
I'm debating whether I should start watching this drama. I'm already aware of the plot and endgame, so unless…
It would be impossible to know whether the plot may surprise anyone, considering there are still 14 episodes to go. And even if the plot couldn't surprise, other elements might? Acting, for example? And isn't endgame in cinema as much about 'what' as 'how'? Rather than deciding whether this is war or military.. This is the story of the military during peace and during war. I've laughed a lot while watching, I cried just a little. And the balance is just right for me. For now only 2 episodes were about 'battle'. In any case, the choice is yours. But I'd recommend watching and deciding yourself. I don't think such things as surprise, or balance, or even character evaluation.. are possible to judge by reading comments, and before watching.
Since we are waiting for Immortality or may be other adaptations to air (I have 4 I am awaiting impatiently), I want to promote a 'BL' I watched recently and thought it was absolutely perfect.
The Japanese Utsukushii Kare (Six 24-minute episodes).
And I hope I won't get comments saying that we shouldn't write about other dramas on this page:) First. Immortality isn't airing yet, so there is no problem:) Second, even if it was airing, I never think that dramas or actors are competing with each other. The more great dramas, the better. For those who are wondering about it, because they do not usually watch japanese drama, or read japanese 'bl'. Don't wonder about it, since it's my case too.
Watch now, thank me later!
EDIT. There is absolutely no chance, that people who read danmei, including 2ha, are not gonna love the drama, hence my recommendation. I hope it's clear though, I am not comparing the works.
Hi, can you please let me know where did you watch the donghua? Also how many episodes are there?
The donghua is on Bilibili as well as Youtube Bilibili page. I am not sure it's free though. But at least you can watch the free episodes or soundracks if you get into them eventually (I absolutely love it!) on the official platform.
This is why, disagreeing with each other doesn't make anyone defensive.
Have to stop here. Bye.

From the screenwriter...
