Why do haters keep lowering the rating? Do they think that way they will increase the value of their favorite…
I'm not someone who cares about ratings..For one thing, because I don't need my opinion sto coincide with majority's when it comes to art appreciation. However, when it comes to mdl, I tend to get frustrated seeing the ratings, because of the reasons behind. A lot of users on mdl are more into kdrama so dramas from other countries are getting downvoted. Or, users downvote for other reasons seeing dramas or actors as rivals (not realizing it's all in their minds). I hope the site could find a way to deal with the downvoting phenomenon, especially that, this type of people are exactly the ones who'll vote with more than one account. Today, it is hard to tell on mdl as to what the rating even represents...
As to Untamed... Nothing is going to change the fact that this drama is in a leage of its own, and shouldn't even be rated within the same category as others... (and one figure to remember also is that cql has always had the highest percentage of 10s)
Actually 90% of this plot is based on real life cases and even Chen Yu's character has an irl policeman prototype.…
One thing I appreciate in this drama (and not only), is that Chinese do not take a serious subject to film a drama that doesn't treat it seriously... There is nothing worse than dramas taking a genre or topic and then giving no substance... And therefore, from episode 1, and as it progresses, you can see that this is a production with tons of effort put in both writing and execution... And I also appreciate the fact, that as the story progresses, it's also more 'emotional', meaning, evoking different emotions, because the characters are tied by friendship, or have family ties... As to the actors, they all have great chemistry together... All of them... And I am sure as we'll get to have more scenes of them together, we'll also see more great acting and chemistry... Personally, I'm impatient...
Started watching for yibo, well, because he's great and I love him.. but came here to praise the overall great cast, acting, and a quality production... Glad to see chinese invest to make what you call Cinema...
Does anyone know where I can watch Let's Chat for this season with subs? I can't find it anywhere...
Youku international application but for now it's only available for vip. I haven't watched them rhis year yet since for now i don't haveva vip subscription but they should be in english. May be they'll open them eventually for non vip... Or at some stage i guess they'll appear on non official sites...
The link to the application...But you need tp install it on a smartphone or a tablet... If you want to watch pn a bigger screen, your option is to cast... I do it and it works perfectly well...
Watching it on their official app is not the problem. People are willing to do that and even pay for membership.…
If you install youku on your phone or a tablet the episodes are with eng subs. When i open the app, i can even download the episodes episodes to watch offline.
If you want to watch on a big screen you can cast on tv. My phone has a cast option in the settings. Otherwise there are apps.
So you can find youku app by directly typing on the p'aystore or through the videos on youtube. Let me know if anything wadn't clear.
Storywise the Untamed is better but chemistry between leads, word of honor takes the crown for me. I watched both.…
I didn't read the novel before and was never confused about anything. Much like i didn't get confused when I first watched harry potter..Understanding that you aren't supposed to know the mystery behind the events in the first episode was an evidence to me...On a subconscous level since I never even wondered...It isn't a confusion when it's deliberate. Therefore even if it it could be slightly sophisticated for someone (not it's still a strength compared to when somethong is given to you on a tray in a most common manner. Therefore if we are talking 'quality' the question isn't how easily someone got into it, after all, but how well it's done. I hope you also know what I mean.
Because you are discussing this politely:), i am keen to dscuss, too. So not that i want to leave the discussion but i really have to.
Storywise the Untamed is better but chemistry between leads, word of honor takes the crown for me. I watched both.…
In order to understand the right and wrong, there's statistics. And therefore p'ease refer to statistics to understand that if a drama is trending and highest rated on international platforms from day one, it means, what it means... When you speak of 'others' the facts should come from statistics not a youtube video. How about millions of videos then prising every single aspect from day one??? How many videos you'll present and how many i can to prove our point?:) As to china, the wondering about the drama was BEFORE it aired since mdzs fans were wondering if it can be true to the novel. As they'll wonder for any other adaptation... And weball know how it ended:) And, frankly, our conversation was about something else. Who cares how you get into a drama when we talk of overall quality after all. You spoke of the chemistry being stronger in WoH and I answered saying and will say again, I couldn't disagree more. .
Storywise the Untamed is better but chemistry between leads, word of honor takes the crown for me. I watched both.…
I never thougth or said you're prejudiced. Your opiniabout general fans is incorrect because after it aired, i followed the drama for more than a year. The drama trended from the beginning and you can read avout the general reception to understand the profit it brought. And i already explained that international fans didn't know about mdzs but discoveted after. If you had a hard time getting into it, it's your personal experience. I had a hard time to finish WoH, so as you can see we have different experiences, because we have different tastes, feelings and judgement... I never said you are prejudiced but not being prejudiced doesn't mean being right. You shared your analysis, and I said I didn't agree. It doesn't mean you shpuld feel differently, it simply means, I do... I've read 99 percent of the novels you mentioned but if there's one danmei author i skip today, sorry, it's priest.
I wanted to get back to you because I realized after your second post below that your previous question was zbout…
I have also dropped severall popular costume dramas and I certainly don't mean all the dramas have quality. I think you got what I meant.
About untamed being a xianxia... There's much to tell here but I don't have time today. When I do, I'll have to write longer. Quickly hough that the genre on tencent is fantasy/drama (i mean chinese tencent not the international wetv). Untamed may have xianxia characteristics but it also differs from other xianxia and I don't mean by quality only but by genre. One important thing to remember is that untamed is not adapted from a xianxia but a Romance (m/m naturally). And this was, of course, transcribed into the adaptation. Not speaking of the fact that 'danmei' isn't just a word, and isn't what many believe it to be,and it also has its characteristics. And all of this is, as I said, is part of the untamed and differentiates it from other 'xianxia'... Not talking about the fact that cinematography matters too... All of this together already makes it into one of a kind. As to quality wise... To me, they managed to make it into a piece of art.. of course at the same time untamed being the most entertaining drama i've seen that one can watch and rewatch... . This doesn't happen and won't happen every day...
Up until ep 38 I gave this drama a 9,5 score, because I though the best part was up till ep 33, but after watching…
I wanted to get back to you because I realized after your second post below that your previous question was zbout quality of shows. And since I can relate to what you said about difficulty to pick a drama, I wanted to write back. We need to leave TU aside though and not compare, because this drama is one that comes every blue moon.. On the other hand what you are saying about the surprise of it being chinese, I need to get back to it (no offense taken:)) because it's exactly because chinese have top professionals that they can produce this drama. It could never be produced elsewhere... And if you're having a hard time to pick a kdrama (iI have abandoned trying to pick a kdrama a few years ago), then you should try watching cdramas in the genres you like. Because they do produce quality dramas and entertainment. TU got me to cdrzmas even though I had watched a few cdramas before. And I am thankful for this, because the quality if what i was watching before kept going down, and this drama got me into a new world full of entertainment and art I trully appreciate.
Storywise the Untamed is better but chemistry between leads, word of honor takes the crown for me. I watched both.…
I love MDZS but I discoveted it only because I fell in love with TU first. And this is true for most of international viewers. As to China, the novel had its fanbase, but I am certain there are many who discoveted the novel through the drama. People tend to watch more than read...
To me, WoH doesn't compare to TU, not as a whole, not with any single element including chemistry... I never wrote a comment on woh, because I don't comment on things I don't love. But we're on TU page and without refuting your feelings,, which are personal, still need to tell you, I disagree with the analysis.
But I'll say again, whether I like woh or not, I don't disdiscourage anyone from watching, because it still offers more than many highly popular shows on mdl.
Watching it on their official app is not the problem. People are willing to do that and even pay for membership.…
The app has been downloaded more than half a million times so I can't tell how many people didn't want to watch it on the app, nor can you. If you are going to answer without addressing what I said, then, there can't be a conversation. You can dowload an app that allows to mirror your phone on the screen. You can pay for the option after all if you can't manage with a free app. I'll tell this again, right now in order to cast a drama from viki to tv I have to pay a 7 euros monthly subscription. Should I boycotte viki??? How is the search option linked to SDC when opening the app, SDC has it's own section right on top.
How you watch it, is your issue, but when you give incorrect information, I'll refute.
Dowload the app, pay for screen mirroring if you can't find a free one and watch the show on tv' or, watch it without subs on youtube, or watch it on unofficial sites as a last option.
Whichever you choose, any of this can't be held against the show. And I wouldn't hold it agains youku since as i said, chinese platforms offer more than international fans watching asian contents have ever had. I am suggesting to end it here.
Professionalism on this show is the top standard. And when the director is doing push ups on the stage, you know where the attitude also comes from:) This show is my yearly treat... Can't wait for next Saturday...
Watching it on their official app is not the problem. People are willing to do that and even pay for membership.…
First of all, if I remember well, this app was launched in the summer of 2021. And even then youku didn't 'create it from scratch' :))) since they've had the chinese version for 15 years. The ONLY function I can't see today is casting. It isn't about my phone or your phone, because there are apps available for the entire world allowing to cast your phone on tv. FYI, Viki doesn't have the cast for non paying subscribers up till this date. How much of the contents existing on mdl you can watch on youtube? Can you watch kdramas? Don't people watch them on dramacool, kissasian, etc... Should we hold this against the dramas, d complaining about kbs or tvn, and refuse to watch Kerala's altogether? Isn't this show also generally available on non-official sites?
I watched this show yesterday, the DAY of its BROADCAST, FREE, IN EXCELLENT QUALITY, with ENG SUBS, ON TV..
The app is FULLY FUNCTIONAL. And please let's not go in the direction of 'what if someone doesn't have a phone':) Then this isn't about youku because tons of platforms offer only full experience through downloaded apps.
Can someone tell me if Word of honor is similar to this, quality wise? I am about to finish Tu and I need something…
They share a similarity of being adapted from chinese novels having 'some' common characteristics in the genre. But wherher the source or the drama, the works themselves aren't alike. Personally I am neither a Priest fan nor WoH fan..., but I still recommend to give it a try and see it for yourself, Though, personally before WoH, I'd recommend Winter Begonia. But again, i am recommending without comparing them to TU.
Incredible show I watch every year since Yibo is in it. Without exaggeration I've seen last season fully 4 times probably and watch some bits and pieces every now and then till today. It's such a positive show full of music and dances and fun and art and yibo:) It raises my mood when I watch it... I recommended it to my sister and she took some time before she watched it, but as soon as she did, she told me 'let's watch it again' after the last episode:) So sitting at home waiting impatiently for episode 2...And I definitely recommend it to everyone.
