I couldn't get into the charcters. The one who was supposed to be chubby when he was a kid, had at least a personality,…
People are getting more and more obessed with korean dramas/movies, even more so with BL fans. Many of them could just watch cute guys doing lovey dovey things and call these dramas a masterpiece (such as Semantic Errors). Perhaps they have not been to South Korea and fantacised by its pop culture. I have been and not impressed by the architecture or the guys, I did enjoy the food though. For me, a masterpiece has to be something that delivers a meaningful message or something thought provoking or poignant, I would rate only a few Japan BL in these last few years as masterpieces. As a gay man, we have different preferences for BL or LGBT dramas/movies.
I think that they spend too much time on unimportant scenes. This is a relatively short series with short episodes…
The conflict was actually resolved with just a few sentences and they started to hug each other, I was like, what the hell! Same with the ML, just some chats, asshole Chap would suddenly suck Green's bleeding finger like a vampire and Green quickly felt like a teenage girl in love for the first time. Both of them so far didn't manifest themselves being gay, so you don't suddenly become gay by some close interactions, but damn, some fujoshi find the series cute lovely so far!
The suit theme may be new to Thai BLs (Cutie Pie as well) but the director seems trying too hard to make the actors…
I am a Chinese Malaysia and have been to Thailand and all other countries in South East Asia (aka SEA). Here are my point of views and observations to share with you.
I mentioned not even rich or top management will wear suit with tie because we do not have cold draft like in temperate countries such as England where I spent 4 years in my early twenties. The tie especially will make you sweat a bucket once you are outside the air cond space. Suit may be worn on certain occasions but not with tie except very formal event and for photo session only.
Talking about this, my best friend had a gay wedding in an island resort (near the border of Southern Thailand) and made every male guest wear suit and tie for the evening alfresco wedding dinner. Sure enough, everyone took off the tie and suit once they went past the photographer. He was very disappointed he couldn't get the image of the wedding dinner in western movies where people dressed up, chatting and sipping champagne as there were very few drinkers also, haha!
Imagine long sleeve plus suit and tie in 80% humidity even in the evening !
Back to long sleeve, those people wearing it in SEA are usually laborers who have to work long hours under the sun such as motorbike riders, farmers, outdoor vendors, construction workers as they don't want to have darker skin. Usually those long sleeve shirts are not the branded or high quality stuff you can call a stylist option.
People in this region do not get sunburn due to our pigmentation and only if they swim under the sun. Middle class and rich people who work in air cond room during the day in office and sleep with air cond on at home do not wear long sleeve to shopping mall because these are normal temperature for us.
Those fair looking actors in Cutie Pie and the Tuxedo are mostly ethic Chinese Thai or of mixed European or Chinese parentage. We are naturally fair and will turn fair again once we are away from long hours under the sun.
Those wearing thick jacket or fur coat just admire western lifestyle too much like my best friend for his wedding dinner! Gay men in this region who have worked out a lot tend to wear singlet or tight t shirt to show off their muscle, so no long sleeve for them!
this is getting worse and worse. i'm just watching to see what type of nonsense they come up with each week. and…
Yes, even the sentences actors spew out also don't make sense. ML just said "you understand me the most", after Green correctly guessed the reason Chap wanted to look the best for his father's attention. In Episode 4, Chap also seemed to have taken another person script book and totally didn't behave and talk like an arrogant prick, why such drastic change just because he was outside the house? The other guy simply accepted the apology of another guy after one sentence and hugged him. These guys have been arguing for the last few episodes but one awkward explanation and they all acted like friends.
This drama is extremely disappointing. Extremely. The show has no common sense, no plot and unnecessary shootings…
The suit theme may be new to Thai BLs (Cutie Pie as well) but the director seems trying too hard to make the actors (all very fair and North Asian looking) and setting similar to Korean dramas. The weather in Thailand has very high humidity and room temperature during day time is at least 28 degree celsius, nobody will be caught dead wearing suit and tie outside a very formal events.
We mustve had higher expectations.. maybe it was the potential we saw based on the intro/outro.... They are just…
Some called them fish kisses, haha! Not only do they have fish kisses in the series but apparently the 4 people in the room trying to take measurements on the distraught Chap have fish memory as well!
I remember there is 38, 30 and so on, how can none of them, especially for experienced tailors, not to remember those numbers? One would be so lucky to fall into kisses without hitting another person face or teeth.
this is truly awful, but i can't seem to stop watching for some reason.
Because of good looking guys and only 15 minutes of actual episode running time, we keep watching and waiting for Chap to take off his cloth and how they contoct another accidental kiss.
They took two hot guys and put them in a weird and grotesque scenes ever, the joke is on us the viewers who doesn't…
I know right? Episode 4 is even more ridiculous than before, how could they still want to take measurements when the guy appeared drowsy and behave like a person in distress ? Both ML changed so quickly from hating each other to falling in love after a chat ?
I can not believe that I watched it , I knew from the beginning they will drag it till the end, but isn't it too…
The concept and setting were interestingly new in the first half of the series but after so many eternal stares and smiles between ML, it becomes ridiculous a once- straight-guy would behave like a teenage girl dreaming and fantacising a guy without making a move. What about Tawan? He is gay for fuck sake, wouldn't he be more sharp when another man shows obvious interest?
What an absolute mess! The more episodes you watch, the more obvious how poor the script is. In episode 4, Chap woke up behaving like another person entirely than the violent prick in first 3 episode Ridiculous way of falling and kissing again, we get to see him shirtless again, yeah! But why does he suddenly suck someone finger like a vampire? Why does Green easily fall in love with Chap after hating him in previous episode? How could Chap say Green understand him the most by just rightly guessing the importance of looking good for his father? It's all very lame but how many people below love the series so far or think it is cute? 4 episodes already in, they are still talking about taking measurements for the suit, this is really a lame excuse to woo viewers with cute guys and shirtless scenes!
Absolutely senseless. I am a bit tired with the thai series, they have become so naive. A guy comes to a hotel…
Haha, perhaps Thai filmmakers tried too hard to listen to some fangirls' criticisms that it takes s too long for the couple to fall in love or too many toxic characters; they cherish couples that fall in love quickly and give as many cutesy moments as possible. In these Thai BL worlds, people are ready to accept gays, either women or men, which isn't possible even in open minded society in the west.
I know Dr. Tawan is just too pure and very naïve but he literally needs something to hit him on the head to realize…
Haha, I laughed at your sentence 'someone giving you rice and flower is not love'. You make more sensible comment here than many fujoshi here who just suck up any BL dramas with cute boys and 'healthy relationships'.
How did this series make it to air I’ll never know? They have to stretch each episode to fill a nonexistence…
Haha, I love your comment! For 3 episodes, the asshole Chap has been talking about getting the best suit for his dad's birthday. People would be dropping this series if it is not a BL with very handsome guys. Now we shall see if the storyline can be saved from a total train wreck to something worth checking out other than "Hot Boy Chap & Green".
I agree with you it's not reasonable to expect Tawan to let go of his love for Por very quickly since he admired…
Yes, he could probably have let the reception or the guard know if Tawan has been a regular visitor and they have been in LTR, but Tawan has not. In real life, the boyfriend would only be given the key if they are going steady. In the earlier episode, Tawan has only been invited once or twice to his place for sex.
Furthermore, if Por has been avoiding him and having another guy staying in regularly, he would have changed the instruction with the reception or security guard.
I just feel it is the same plot hole in dramas where the cheating couple would leave the FRONT door half open and be caught having sex when people sneak in without announcing their presence. You may leave or forget to lock the room door but hardly the front door.
Amazing for you and others who just scream at the sight of cute boys staring endlessly at each other and smile,…
Yes, we are free to express our like or dislike of this series here. I was trying to highlight it was not mostly due to the lack of subtitle leading to its current rating. as you lamented in your original post. You could see some of us (mostly gay men) find the script weak or full of plot holes / irregularities. If we all suck up all these BL dramas with cute guys, Thailand may release 200 BL dramas a year just to make money.
Yes, that scene was funny but in a bad way. Mork didn't behave like a guy but more like a girl if he had to close…
@ The shipper guy, Wait, "discomfort" because they were too attractive or too grotesque? :-P Some straight guys may think we gay men would ogle at just any men body.
That was ridiculous. Teasing would have been ONE book out of place. To do that to the entire library wasn't teasing…
@jpny01, You are right about the unnecessary side story of Toy and Boss, I mostly played with my phone when their scenes come up. His antics have really been like bullying and how would that make Boss fall for him?
I was at first attracted to the series after reading the synopsis of romance between a bike rider and a medical resident. I would like to see how they overcome the class barrier as I have experienced and seen friends being rejected for not being on par with their gay admirers, even our difference is not as much as Tawan and Mork.
With only 2 episodes left, I don't think it has a good chance to deal with class barrier much, if at all.
For everyone who's frustrated with Tawan, remember that WE have known Por was awful for a long time - Tawan didn't…
I agree with you it's not reasonable to expect Tawan to let go of his love for Por very quickly since he admired him since a few years ago. However, I think there is a plot hole that Tawan can get access card to Por's apartment so easily from the reception if he had not been dating or invited frequently into his apartment after Por's failed attempt to get into his pants. In an earlier episode, he also wouldn't have been able to go up to Por's apartment floor/front door without the reception calling a resident to get clearance as can be seen with the procedure when Mork tried to get in to look for Tawan.
