He actually drank 6 glasses of champagne. Not just two. U can re-watch and see that he cleared an entire tray.…
@jpny01 Even if he has drank the whole tray of champagne, it would have taken quite a while because, unlike shots, this thing has a lot of bubble. If he is addicted to alcohol, he might be curious to try out the expensive stuff that is champagne but he wouldn't be able to drink 6 glasses between the time of Kinn getting assassinated.

By the way, why was she even rewarded with cash if she didn't succeed in the mission? Episode 1 has set up the story fairly well but the whole episode 2 is a poor show of comedy,

don't think it's a comedy. I think this episode is the calm before the storm. They still need to show Porsche…
Comic relief is one thing but some scenes are just ridiculous, someone's pee in a fairly big pond could kill the fish? How did the son of the other family fall into the position in the pond that could lead to bleeding in the head? I rewatched the scene, he couldn't have hit the edge or the fountain in the middle of the pond either.

I thought they looked fake? BTW, I freaking loved the lunatic brother and how he dressed like Liberace. Best bit…
@Maggi64 You actually said it right that typical gangsters' wear are thick gold necklaces and lame silky, half buttoned, short sleeve shirt, exposing their symbolic tattoo. This is also the common mafia look in South & North East Asia, not the all tux and long sweat shirt these people are wearing! Even The Sopranos' (US drama) casts only wear tux in parties and mafia meetings!

A hetero pimp would not entice any prostitutes working for him with wears and mannerism like those. It is definitely camp as hell, speaking from a LGBT person's perspective and experience.

I'm curious: Do the majority of commenters here feel that episode 2 was funny?I feel badly for the actor playing…
@LykeItRuff I think there is only another person JPNY01 leaving disapproving comment about episode 2, other than both of us; all 3 gay men. I checked out your profile and find we have quite similar taste in your list, probably in the older age group than some young gay men here that also adore trashy BL like the rest.

You are right about Tong's character, how can anyone not find his sissy behavior so out of place in such mafia family? In reality, he would be outcasted by the family as machismo is a common trait of mafias.

I also notice a recent trend of Thai BL dramas totally do away "overcoming homophobia" part of their story. It may be a cliches plot but totally necessary to tell at least a bit how it is overcome. People here seem to applause such trend, thinking that it is normal to come out as gay and everybody immediately accepts it. It is different if the story starts off with an out of closet character, so they don't have to delve into that. Cherry Magic series touched it lightly but didn't totally ignore it.

Anyway, the mood change from episode 1 to 2 is so jarring and the whole time it was not even funny. Many people here obviously suck it all up and ready to declare this series a masterpiece. The only thing that keep me watching are the hot guys and wondering how their romance is played out.

@LykeItRuff The thing is people are so swept up by current influx of trashy Thai BL dramas that they won't recognise a katoey (sissy in English) as obvious as Tong. No straight man will be caught dead with clothing and mannerism like that!

If you have been to gay clubs in Thailand or seen Thai's variety shows, they really love the katoey jokes especially by fat, ugly trans uttering in the campiest possible tone. Worse still, it is often the ugly katoeys that strip the hunk guests or touch them everywhere.

Also nobody has mentioned how ridiculous the other older mafia boss would wear a girly scarf like that in tropical Thailand. Oh, that's right, wearing tux all the time and showing glitzy setting is the new black in Thai BL dramaland and people are applauding this new trend! We will see more of that, for sure!

What even is this?
It is a Thai BL drama made with fan service plots; accidental kisses, incredibly hot straight guys falling in love, chap's shirtless scenes and a lakorn family story. Do you not like it? Hehe!

Yes, BL dramas/movies definitely are viewed with a lot more leniency than straight ones because of the inexplicable charm of same sex romance, to gay men and Fujoshi anyway.

Thai BL industry strives on having gorgeous actors and simple premises (no thought provoking themes like some Japanese ones). There is a shallow obsession with good looks and muscles and slapstick comedy in the entertainment industry which can be seen in some of their variety shows where fair, good looking actors/models are often asked to take off their clothes and play games that make audience laugh. If I remember correctly from my numerous travel to Thailand, I don't think you'd find only fair, Eurasian or North East Asian looking people all the time. They are emulating Korean dramas in actors' look and setting (tux in tropical country!).

I do like to see those beautiful physical attributes but I don't need to see them in a variety show all the time. In case you wonder why I watched them, they popped up in my youtube recommendation from algorithm.

Thais are world class marketers, they know how to work on popularity. Just look at its tourist destinations, there are repetition of massage parlours and Thai seafood & Western restaurants. They know westerners cannot get fresh fruit juices and alcohol on the move, then you see these movable stores setup everywhere in their tourist areas.

By knowing what most tourists like, Bangkok had managed to be the most visited city in the world 3 years in a row before Covid, beating world class tourist destination of Paris, London, New York and Rome where arts, cultures or history are a lot richer.

Do you mean the long negative essays or the positive ones?
@Ujojo, I haven't rated or posted a view on this series yet since it is only 1 episode. However, as much as you like what others rave about it like the second coming of Jesus, some of us could also debate it should not be so overhyped with what we have seen so far.

If we just praised the series because of the effort from the production team , it would be unfair to other productions which could have just put in as much work.

As a gay man and someone who has lived in London (4 years) and watched hundreds of LGBT movies including many European ones (especially French, being a Francophile) since the 90s, I don't have any issue with sex and nudity. In fact, the film I enjoyed and thought the most recently is the Japanese movie, The Dangerous Addiction of Sex.

Why would you want big budget BL dramas if there are a lot of potholes and silly premises? In fact, I prefer not to see gays in gangster dramas because in reality most gays don't engage in fights (except self defense). Our preference and behaviors (not mannerism) are more in common with women than straight men. Most of us don't watch team sports and talk about cars and other tech stuff for hours.

So, it is ok to write long positive ones and give high score after 1 episode but not ok if negative? It's people like you that overrate some BL dramas because of hot guys and cutesy romance! Perhaps you are still a teenager, otherwise it is an insult to European queer cinema if these BL dramas are considered great! I see you are from Italy and I've visited dozen places there and respect the art and high culture of your country.

I think BL series should just be enjoyed with a pinch of salt and not fought over. There are more pressing things…
But poor taste of some people will spur producers churning out more garbage like this. You have the right to say you enjoy the drama, other people also have the right to leave poor reviews after watching it so producers may look into improvements.

I've tried, but I just can't like this drama. It looked soo promising in the trailer but now it's a no. That's…
He looked gorgeous in the first couple of episodes but poor camera work and angles revealed his unusual long lines below the eyes, as he looked more and more haggard from episode 4, I am not sure it was intentional due to all the nosebleed and crying.

There could be better chemistry if both leads have not changed their behaviors so drastically and uttered silly lines.

They got some really good idea (probably taken from Kdrama, because it's very familier plot) and the conflict…
Many of them don't see any issues you mentioned when there are hot actors and cutesy moments. In fact, some of the BL fans are so staunch that they find it very wrong and exasperating when some others leave poor reviews. They couldn't see their masterpieces being criticized and labeled anything less as toxic.

There are so many things wrong with this series, only the good looks and Chap's abs are saving it some grace. If a person keeps having nosebleed like that, it couldn't just be ignored and people moving on to another birthday party. I didn't notice there was a lot of long stares here but there certainly were a lot in My Ride which started out interesting with the premise but becomes tiresome and messed up. Again, it scores high mark mainly because of Mork's gorgeous look and deep dimples from fans.

It is around USD50k but six figures in local currency. This is why many Aussies like to have wedding in Bali and Phuket where you can stay in fancy villas, saying a vow with amazing ocean backdrop and party at your pool villa all day and night. His 1.5K a night Beach villa with pool served that purpose perfectly.

@Nolan Peale That birthday party was awkward alright. I almost chuckled when Chap ordered a violinist to play the birthday song, that was a weird choice in that setting!

Haha, to another awkward birthday party! Why such a coincidence? I guess in order to justify people wearing tux continuously, next episode could be a wedding reception as you predicted!

That part about the family is already a lakorn trope, so don't expect anything to make sense. The ex is also another trope we have seen in My Ride. Let's see what nonsense the director could come up with with 2 episodes to go!

This is a BL series, if they show LGBT stuff like those realistic dramas in Europe, those teenage fangirls will…
I would say there are generally 3 type of BL drama viewers; 1.) Fujoshi (some maybe into hardcore, kinky sex stories found in BL novels), 2.) romance story lovers turned BL fans and 3.) LGBT persons like myself. The 1st and 3rd type of viewers may want to know who is T or B.

From my real life LGBT experience though, nobody knows what happens behind closed doors; there are also many couples who are versatile or can be ones. When it comes to watching Thai BL dramas, I haven't expected them to delve much into the sex part, so I won't bother to ask or think who is T or B. I am here for cute guys and reasonable storytelling.

If you want to watch more realistic or thought provoking dramas, I think recent Japanese ones (see below) are much better although they lose out a lot fandom to Thai and Korean BL drama lovers due to the lack of pretty, handsome actors, until Cherry Magic came along which I enjoyed especially the part about finding his self esteem to date someone really gorgeous. I think such emotional struggle happens to many couples of non-matching looks.

I'm struggling to find positive things to say, and all I can come up with is Chap shirtless. Green is a great…
@jpny01 You hit all the right spots with the critique of the series. I would add the transition from hate to love is not only jarring but almost impossible as Aiaoon has an ex that doesn't have a penis. You cannot "boom" become gay after 2 accidental kisses and a finger sucking session.

The cinematography is especially bad in episode 6. Too much close up of Nawee in the wrong angle makes him look less and less attractive. Even a shirtless scene cannot save him this time, haha ! You are right, the full blasting of Jeff Satur's song suddenly throughout the series is tacky and make me unintentionally laughed.

I also noticed the red lipstick on both leads was too obvious in episode 6, so when they kissed I imagined they would need to clean up all those messy lipstick stains.

Wearing tux is just a new prop for Thai BL industry to move away from high school/university setting. Yes, the tux Aiaoon and the dad wore were awful looking. Why would they wear tux in the family gathering sitting outdoor? They didn't have the budget to do Four Wedding and A Funeral type of birthday lunch, I guess. I didn't notice about the hem, I guess you really know more about these formal attires than the director does!

Unfortunately no skin from episode 5 and 6 but you could see Lakorn creeping in in the latter already. It may go full blown Lakorn up to the finale with the introduction of "le bitch" aka the ex.

@jpny01 My friend actually spent quite a bit for his dream wedding, chartering a short flight for the 70+ guests and paying for the 1st night stay in the remote 5 stars resort where we couldn't simply go out for food or order takeouts.

Some of the guests were local artists and publicists as he had gained a small fame being a young and flamboyant interior designer in local scene. Overall, the guests were mostly used to high society parties except a few of his best friends like me, :-P.

Anyway, the canape cocktail party was held from 6pm so naturally we didn't have time to eat dinner before that. Even the hotel's canape spread was fancy and varied, it would have been better to serve some carbs at some points although people eating pizza or satay skewers isn't that fancy I guess? At the end of the day, we are still Asians and not used to eating small bites and bread for dinner, haha!

Have you seen episode 6? Chap is a mess and there comes the trope of having someone suddenly appearing to spoil the mood with 2 more episodes to go. The series seems to get worse; at least we could see shirtless Chap in previous episodes.

Lakorn with bitches, many non Thais will stay away. Lakorn with hot guys, most people here will suck it up as long as there is consensual sex, kiss or happy ending.
