No, you let it go, lady! Unsightly is the right word. I won't object to someone calling men's private part queasy or unsightly either as it can be, to some people. You have no right to ever ask people not to express their view of something aesthetically.

Of course, there are soft, wobbly men and women, but even a stunning woman body looks queasy to many gay men, we'd rather see it covered with fabulous clothes. And hello? When did I say gay men are repelled by women? I was saying we are not attracted to women's naked body just like how straight men don't naturally find another men's private part attractive.

You always said it better than I could, Jpny01 ! I kept saying there was no inconsistency in Chap's behaviors and lately Green's as well, but you hit it in the head; all this is the result of stringing BL tropes together to make the drama!

We had some glimpses of Green's body though and I think Chap's more well defined torso was the reason he had to be shirtless a few times. Green is more attractive nonetheless with close up on his face, showcasing his very kissable lips.

Another glaring absence of logic is if Green has been dating a woman and Chap has been home bound (managing the company from home?), how could these men suddenly turn gay after a few accident falls and kisses or Green's sudden empathy with Chap's cliches childhood trauma? How I wish I could easily turn straight but I cannot even look directly into women's breasts, touch the queasy body or be close to their feminine smell.

I am not sure if you replied to me or Oictopus, we had to mention we are gay because some fangirls here think those who don't like or give low marks to their favorite BL dramas here are homophobic. They also think MDL is homophobic that somehow often lowers the rating of BL dramas.

If the script is solid, it does not matter if it is a high school drama, or friends turn lovers plotline because it is what BL is likely to come from.

Look at how Thai BL writers tried to diversity by having a cat or a stuffed toy turning into a lover, with an infantile or messy script!

The episodes have just got worse and worse. Many of us continued watching it because the two leads are hot. They might as well do a short story with just both of them from strangers to having sex for the first time (like US film Trick) since the writer couldn't come up with a credible story.

Unfortunately for may BL obsessed fans here, they think episode 1 is cute, the theme song is cute, the twitching ears are cute, the falling-in-love-immediately, Beastiality romance is cute.

For mature gay men like myself, it is an insult to regular dramas for their effort, cheapen BL dramas, resulting in an onslaught of Thai BL dramas which, in just march & April, there are already more than 10 releases. We are certainly not homophobic, we just want better Quality, not Quantity!

I recommend "Restart After Come Back Home (2020)" a Japanese BL film with similar length and a happy ending.

@LykeItRuff She lives for the series apparently and from the profile photo obviously digs that silly act of Porsche. In Episode 1, he is acting all savvy and street smart but in episode 2, the need for silly comedy turns him into a kid in a candy shop.

@mimicat @AexyMauve The site's rating system is probably similar to IMDB where the bigger the voting base, the lower the overall rating. They have some kind of mechanism to filter spams and give more weight to verified voters or those with high karma points. So, drama newbies' 10 point rating matter less than one given by those who have watched and contributed a lot of dramas in MDL. The key here is weighted average point.

The highest rated dramas/movies in both sites are 9.2 / 9.1 and highest BL dramas/movies in MDL are between 8.6 and 8.5. In fact, IMDB would not list dramas/movies with low votes in Top Movies/Dramas because it is not fair an independent movie voted 10 by 20 people to be Top Movie instead of Shawsank Redemption.

Do you think we have BL dramas/movies that are as complex, as well done as Replay 1988, Nirvana On Fire, Prison Playbook to be rated 9+ ?

At the end of the day, you can see how this drama stand against the best of BL dramas (using advance search) and they are fairly accurate based on popular votes.

A few of mature gay men and women here just want to stop screaming, teeny popper BL dramas fans who would call BL dramas with gorgeous men but poor scripts masterpieces because you are ruining it for us, real BL/LGBT drama fans!

This must be the third Thai BL drama recently about good hearted ML saving an animal or toy and got rewarded a partner/boyfriend. It sounds almost like a child's fairy tale!

Not exactly. I figured out from reading the pie chart that the completed group was the group that picked"Not Interested" as "Completed" is a greyed out option until finale. The 8.0 rating is also weighted from the Currently Watching & Verified groups, many of whom rated have 10/10 based on their claim of masterpiece in the comments here. So these 33 people don't pull down the rating drastically.

@dermariska By the way, I have yet to meet any BL fangirls here who are curious or want to know more about real life LGBT experience or struggle from a few gay posters here. So, even if a drama is used for activism, it may not have any effect. What we've got here are often the fangirls who scream over cutesy, childish romances or SJW (social justice warriors) who get very worked up if there is "no consent letter signed" before sex, haha!

@dearmariska What Did You Eat Yesterday is not a drama I would recommend generally because many commented it was like a cooking show, and there was not a single kiss or intimate scenes between the couple. I enjoyed it quite a lot however as it touches some of the slice of life details you would not see in regular BL. The cooking part could be boring if you're not into cooking, but it is still more rewarding than those silly slapstick comedies in many Thai BL, especially with the regular use of weird sound effects; it is almost infantile.

I brought up this drama because there is a scene where the slightly effeminate partner was finally brought home to have dinner with the parents, after 10 years in relationship. He tried to act straight and formal in greeting and exchanging pleasantries with the parents but completely lost it when he tasted mom's delicious food. His unintentional campiness and mom's slightly disgusted expression was burst out loud funny.

The partner is a very straight acting, handsome middle age man, and the parents probably have never seen a nelly queen in their life, living in a small town like mine, Malacca. Most young gays from such small town will move to the capital city for better lifestyle and choice of friends/partners which are generally be the same in Holland, US, Thailand, Japan and so on. These people living away from their family and relatives could therefore be more open with their sexuality in the city.

While many find it a trope or cliches to have the homophobia/coming out of closet sidestory in a BL drama, totally ignoring it is misleading and a result of lazy writing. You can just have short conversations or few scenes to cover the topic like in Semantic Error and Cherry Magic recently, it is pure fantasy if everyone suddenly accept it without prior case of gay history.

Being conversant in Mandarin and having visited China multiple times, I can assure you homosexuality has been decriminalized since 1997. I have met local gay men and visited gay clubs in the big cities. It is no more homophobic than Indonesia and Malaysia where the Muslim netizens could easily be triggered with the news of gay lifestyle and scenes thriving in their country.

Just last year, a loud mouth American lesbian's viral post about Bali's openness to LGBT lifestyle resulted in the local authority being pressured to deport her with a few other westerners making the same mistake. So, it is not true younger generation in Asia do not face the same struggle than their older compatriots. Netizens' complaints after seeing an obviously gay hotel ad also lead to my favorite gay villa in Bali being closed down together with all the other gay hotels / villas.

In Malaysia, the first ever online gay drama with Muslim actors was banned and taken down after 2 episodes when they haven't even shown any sexually suggestive scenes. I managed to read a few out of the thousands negative comments, it ain't pretty. A transgender had to ran off to Thailand and sought asylum in Australia when a Muslim preacher reported her for cross-dressing in a mosque. I'm lucky I do not have to subscribed to that religion.

While the US has had a major breakthrough in the last 5 years in civil rights for LGBT, the community should still face discrimination in small town and red states. With the streets getting dangerous for everyone in major US cities, I don't think young LGBT persons dare to flaunt their sexuality in pubic, without getting attacked with knife or killed by gun.

You are right, there is a small issue with the rating chart. I just had a look at the rating options, it seems "Completed" is blocked out but "Not Interested" is not and could be represented in the graph as completed which is misleading. The number is low though, not enough to deflate the overall rating by a lot.

Iqiyi is not the only place to watch this series, I can tell you I don't have to watch from there.

MDL may have lower rating for most of the dramas be it straight or BL because there are more serious drama lovers here who would write long essays, post long comments and elaborate reviews once wrapped up, compared to Viki.com where BL drams tend to enjoy generally higher rating than regular dramas.

@Emara R In episode 1, the father has already indicated Kinn has some special qualities and probably a hidden motive, to hire him. We get that, but episode 2 was just not well written with the change of mood to silly comedy, some overacting and several illogical actions / outcomes.

Most of us will continue to watch as we like the hot leads (aren't many of us shallow?) and if things make more sense later on, the rating will be revised and some of us will post a review after finale.
