it is sad ending series. what is the point of making this series? many people still dont want to give gay love…
There are many bad fluffy BL out there if that's what you are after. This sad ending is not because of gay hate or suicide but an accident which could happen to any couple be it straight or gay.
Such sad stories are not only memorable if done well but remind us to treasure our loved one who is still alive and take good care of ourselves to avoid incident that could hurt the ones who still live.
Alas, when will Taiwanese BL stop with the comeback ex to disrrupt the flourishing ML romance? Watch this for the hot guys, go for Japanese's Eternal Yesterday for something so poignant and emotional!
Wow, what a powerful series! Just 2 episodes in, I am already in love, no wonder it has 8.4 rating at douban who is a tough crowd!
First episode is a tearjerker, the second one gives us insights into all main roles' back stories. It is not all solemm and morbid, definitely worth watching, don't miss it, guys!
๐ C Dramas sometimes really like BL storyline under the pretense of brotherhood. With the choice of the older male lead, the bromance with the second male lead is not too obvious. The last episode is like both male leads taking the straight romance plot just short of a kiss ๐
I just pushed through this to catch up, and I find I love everything about Khan and Thua - their story has depth…
New law of physics invented in the series; pushing one away in the shower cabin will bounce him back to kiss you on the lips and pulling one aside from a coming vehicle will somehow give you a Hollywood kiss position, ๐
You could see many fans here are fujoshis who are just happy to see cute guys doing non toxic and consensual romances…
By the way since Thai BLs make so much money and have big budgets, we start to see flashy production sets and clothings that they don't look like Thailand in most parts anymore, especially when people start wearing coats and sweaters and the day light look like spring or autumn weather all the time.
There was no reason to set this drama in another universe. This should just have been a regular BL set without…
You could see many fans here are fujoshis who are just happy to see cute guys doing non toxic and consensual romances and these out of logic stories make them feel they are not watching the same old high school BLs. Screw logic and product placements, give them more such BLs and the single fujoshis can even forget about their own love life!
Which caucasionising aspect are you referring to? Is it the blonde hair? I have complained about this hair colour…
Dear friend, I don't think these two actors have plastic surgery, some Japanese just have sharp features or they could be from mixed parentage with European. Korean and Thai have much higher percentage of plastic surgery among actors and ordinary people and well known in east Asia for those seeking such procedures.
It is not that they want to look like Caucasians but having double eyelips and sharp nose (not too sharp like some Europeans) and fair have always been the standard of beauty for centuries in East Asia. Caucasians just happen to have those sought- after ideal face features.
This trend of caucasianizing Asian actors has really gotten out of control. I was getting that "uncanny valley"…
Which caucasionising aspect are you referring to? Is it the blonde hair? I have complained about this hair colour for several ML in recent Japanese BL. I think it was a Japanese trend that spread to rest of east Asia. Why losing the beautiful black hair for fake blond hair that does not suit the skin and facial featires of east Asians?
Wow, what a powerful series it has been! I'm still on episode 29 but have been very moved by some of those very deep, and thought provoking talks between a few characters. For instance, the lovely BBQ restaurant waitress telling why she has to go back home for an arranged marriage, and the FL mom sharing her love story and relationship with the father, what a masterful acting from these ladies! I was also very surprised to learn more about the manager's inner loneliness and his lecture to the playboy long stay client.
For me, this is what a drama / film can do as a form of art and something to take away from life lesson through the conversations.
There are a few close up shots when he looks directly at the camera, he has the most beautiful face I have ever…
The charming thing about him is he looks stunning when serious and cute and sweet when he smiles. The 25 years old actor playing university student is believable because of his boyish look and petite build.
Ida from Kieta Hatsukoi looked handsome but he hardly smiled and acted rather wooden.
Japanese BL are usually one of a kind, itโs difficult to find one that is similar to another unless itโs romcom…
You're in for a treat! Recent Japanese BLs are gems, often short but unique, offering some food for thought. Although some people may not be used to their exaggerated acting in romcom like Cherry Magic & Kieta Hatsukoi, the more serious ones like Love on the Line, His or Restart After Come Home are touching and thought provoking.
If you are more adventurous, a few controversial movies are worth checking out; The Dangerous Drug of Sex and Mood Indigo.
It's actually funny how perfect Shinomiya is - maybe even to the point of dullness. But that face... It's funny…
@jpny01 You always have interesting and different perspectives, bro. With what we have seen in the recent Japanese BL, I believe we might have a nice surprise or satisfactory development to their love story such as with My Beautiful Man's finale.
I don't exactly know what you mean by 'that face' of shinomiya but a few close up shots of him looking directly into the camera, to me is the most beautiful face I have ever seen!
It makes no sense, has an unlikeable main character, and is intensely boring. On the other hand, the soul reaper…
@jpny01 Accountant in mourning, haha! Somebody commented the new death storyline per episode doesn't work well on BL dramas. A lot of knowledge and real case study needs to be done in order to get such storyline interesting and at too ridiculous.
Otherwise, BL makers should stick to different professions, work environment without going too much into the field story like surgery and operation.
