I'm rewatching Episode 17. LMT must have been deeply hurt. I mean, someone as tough as Lu Wen, crying her heart out for a fake husband?! She was trying so hard to give him a chance at redemption! I love this.😭❤️ Where were the shadow guards when she was outside crying or when she left Li Mama? The way CXZ hugged LMT in the teaser for episode 19 was just so heartbreaking as if he never wants to lose her.😭😭

After seeing LMT's umbrella at the escort agency, I thought CXZ was worried that LMT, who hasn't fully healed, would be killed too if she was there. I mean, they did try to kill her when she chased after him into war. He knows they won't let her off either. Remember, the shadow guards who used to spy on her are now protecting her out of love. In a way, he's still wary that she can regain her memories at any moment now BUT I think he was more concerned about her safety more than anything. The boy hugged her after knowing that it wasn't her umbrella and two, he slept like a log right after. So if he had suspected her more than that, he wouldn't have. Not only that, CXZ has sort of pardoned LMT, persuading himself to go easy on her because she, too, had it hard being kidnapped by bandits and all. Why else did he let her off with all his assets and servants when he divorced her?
So in this, LMT tested CXZ. CXZ loves her whole heartedly now so his guards are down. But LMT just discovered the truth, she wants to know who CJ really is.

I don't think anyone is romanticizing ML's lies but rather understand his position. Like he said, LMT is LW's concubine. To live in a world of bandits, LMT must not be a force to reckon with either. They're doing illegal stuff. Everyone in this drama has a reason behind their decisions even ML. People may not always agree with his methods but they're his methods.

Awww I actually felt sorry for him seeing how much he loves her when he was yelling for her and hugged her when he returned to the villa. It's hard for him. They just won a war but are now trying to catch the war instigators. It's a bit too chaotic to tell her the truth now. They're not even home yet. But yasss! I'm waiting for the groveling.😂😂
It's like LMT didn't know she needed a life with CJ as her hubby until she lived it and was genuinely happy. But now, all of that is gone.😭😭 That's why the slow buildup was ABSOLUTELY necessary to feel the loss and pain once reality seeped in.
