Uhm, maybe you didn’t notice the sadness in his eyes or the anger in his eyes, he might be cold but his eyes betrayed himself 80% of the time, unlike the dragon king, when he was supposed to be jealous, I can’t see the difference :/ and I purposely watch those scenes closely as to give the male lead chances. But after 21ep, I kinda have enough :/ there’s cold and there’s dead soul. The dragon king was basically dead soul. There was only 1 scene where I felt his smile of happiness was genuine, everything else sadly no, especially their kisses :/ pretty flat considering the man has been waiting over 150yrs for her! (2 lives she got to 60 +). But yes, the micro expression is what the main male lead missing.
I seem to be the only one who actually likes watching for the main couple and finds the bird-brained 2FL somewhat…
I’m more irritated with the dragon king deadpan look and how the couple got zero chemistry with each other, and how their story is just put me to sleep. So the bar was pretty low there lol, QQ at least blow some air into this series lol, while the main couple is literally sucking it dry lol.
I feel like I am watching this drama for the second leading couple (Xie Qian Xun and Qing Qing), because their…
Same three lol. The main couple is such snoozefest! XQX really brings this drama up with his acting (he’s superior above everyone due to able to portray the character in multiple layers). And yes, this series is how I wish VCR didn’t die because FF in vcr = you still not miss any scene lol. The site I watch from doesn’t have speed setting ?
I knew second couple got up to 88th place at one point after this week’s episodes. Didn’t know the leads are…
It’s o tragic, isn’t it. In drama we don’t care about 2nd leads, they force us to watch hours of them, in drama where second leads can carry the series and take off, they gave us barely 2hrs of total screen time >_>
On weibo the supertopic of the main couple has now 4 times less subscribers than st of the second couple. Also,…
Nice to know, and easily see that happen. The main couple has no chemistry, alongside with their draggy, pretty stock standard storyline, and serious bad acting = no one care for them. While the second couple: great chemistry, great storyline, great banter and bickering against each other, mystery (involving their past lives), and omg, such great acting from DW. Atm, I’m literally watching this show for the second couple. Seriously though the main actor keeps having this deadpa, vacant eye look, almost like watching a zombie dragon king >_> you can be don’t care about normal human lives, but no emotions? And when you are in love at that is just >_>
If the Chinese throws things and boycott western movies/drama for wrongly portrayed their historical figures,…
Well, the bully will just keep bullying. Past 3 years China has been banning stuffs left and right, even using their influences to stop a Taiwanese tennis star from getting sponsored from major western brands. When is it that we should allow other to raise their voice and take their stand?
Look at mulan, it has magical being, it by itself was a myth/a makeup play in China, there was no actual historical backing to it apart someone said there might be such figure in China back then, but it has never been proven, and yet the Chinese cried about it, boycott it, instead of just like many of you said just accept it as a fantasy drama.
China has boycott and banned many series/movies/songs if they have a Japanese/Taiwanese actors in them, and what have those actors do? Being born in the wrong countries. If you want to cry, cry at China started this silly trend. Look at the latest news, Chinese actors boycott western brands because they stop using cotton from a region in China due to suspicion of force labour. Yea, instead of waiting for investigation and see who’s in the right, the Chinese actors just blindly follow orders. And Chinese netizens keep doing this and we view as a norm, so we keep allow this, other people get banned but not the Chinese who paid these production company to put their stuffs.
Flip the question, why was there even a need to show Chinese deco and food if it wasn’t for trying to appease the CCP. Nothing is unplanned, so why are all these things got put into a kdrama about zombies!!!
As somebody who watches equal amounts of dramas from both the countries... I can see the distinctly 'Chinese'…
While it’s true that many countries share similarities in cuisine, fashion and even beliefs. But let be real here, the Chinese always claim it stem from them, they have the right to boycott a Korean portrayal of anything related Chinese because it’s not accurate enough, or boycott Korean products because Korea starts to have heavy influences on the Chinese audience. Netizens complained but does the CCP cares? Nope! And everyone moves on.
So now if the knetizens do it, they have no right? I can understand their sentiments. If the CCP must feed 1 narrative that China is superior, then other nations allow just as much, to ask the drama to respect their history. If you want to do whatever, don’t use real name, and don’t use the trademark gisaeng house lol. Or have a line in the drama explain why they do all the Chinese deco and food
well i can understand it if those people are angry after all this is history. Well can't they just change the…
If this was a cdrama, their government would not allow it see the light of the day at all lol.
They should have done what you said at the beginning, however, the costumes are still Korean, the gisaeng house is still a Korean concept, and for it to serve Chinese food with Chinese decorations is still a slap in the face lol.
This isn't how reviewing a WHOLE drama works. Why not write a review for the episodes that you watched as most…
And knowing the initial impression based on about 1.5hr of a drama is bad? Many film/movies are 1.5hrs long. Why are we ok with having a crappy 1.5hrs at the beginning and think that the next 58.5hrs would be better? Isn’t the first few hours of a drama should be the one thing that lure audiences to keep watching and not hating it? Again, if you have problem with my review, take it up to MDL.
it’s fine to drop the drama however writing a review based on 2 episodes of a 63 episode drama isn’t really…
Lol, there is no law said I couldn’t write a review based on what I’ve seen. If MDL has no problem with it, you also need to learn to deal with it. I don’t try to hide the fact I only saw 2 eps, so anyone who can read would get the idea of my review. Maybe you just need to accept that people can not like your favourite drama.
if you rate this drama a 5.0, then you honestly shouldn't watch it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be rude,…
You are not being rude :) I just expressed my disappointment with a series that suppose to be HoT. And dw, I haven’t felt the need to go back to continue this series, so a 5 rating is a fair score lol.
