Because it stands out lol. And if he would have done a better job, people will incline to overlook his look, but because it’s half half (half of the viewers like his character and his acting, the other half doesn’t), and the face is the first thing you see, hence they got annoyed with it. While I don’t attack his long face, I don’t find him attractive, though I do understand why some might. I didn’t like his look at first, and found him to have the worst look out of the 3 guys, but after a while, I can see why some thinks he’s handsome. But to me, long lasting beauty of an actor and actress comes from their acting skills, lacking that, that beauty will be boring after an episode or so :) I just want to explain why some ppl might find his face annoying and attack his face lol.
I think both of WY and FC have good chemistry with RL. Only that RL spend most of her time in FC surrounding.
Also because everything with FC pulls out heart string whereas with WY is fluffy stuffs, and the heart strings stuffs ain’t there or it’s unreasonable/felt like it’s there to create drama unnecessarily, so the chemistry is suffered.
Also I have to say her best clothes and best hair style/hair ornaments was when she was with FC lol! I love that blue dress she wears (the one in the poster), ironically it’s brief and only with FC *facepalm. FC dresses your woman better than you, WY! Lol

Matsumoto is such a play boy though xD I love him xD but I think it’ll be hard for him to settle down lol. I actually ship him with the other girl, the one about the mafia teacher xD too bad, they broke up and because of it, he couldn’t be in the next two seasons and follow the storyline, but gosh, for as little as I saw, their chemistry was so good xD (didn’t finish when I know Matsumoto wasn’t in for the next 2 seasons lol). I only ship actors and actress if they are both single lol. If they have a partner, even one of them, then no :) and credit to great acting :)

I didn’t watch the original scarlet heart (I don’t like Manchu hairstyle or the main actor lol), but I did watch the Korean one, and I think the difference is the main girl in scarlet heart is actually level headed! While RL, who supposed to be smart, isn’t really -.- or she’s idealistic the old way, naive in a sense, very black and white, can’t think for other or multi-facets in term of human psychology lol. Idk, possibly that’s why atm I don’t like both WY or RL that much, for two power brains, they seem to be childish, naive, and stupid unless it comes to their own immediate problems -.-
I kept watching the next episode, just waiting for the female character to do something grand or to see character…

He tried but he understood her so well that it doesn’t matter to explain anymore. He knew she thinks he’s evil, and manipulative, and won’t change that. When the girl you love don’t give you even 1 chance, there is no hope at all.

The empress is indeed the culprit behind everything, however, she is not FC’s real mother, FC in the novel is a twin brother of WY. He has the cruelest fate, should have had the same love from his father as WY but wasn’t taken away. Should have been just as pampered as WY, but nope. Instead, he is made into a chess piece for a revenge plot that has nothing to do with him (well, you know what I mean). And if he has the same position as WY, RL will at least listen to him once, and their misunderstandings would not get so deep and messy! And that’s why even though RQ is just as pitiful, FC to me is the ultimate pitiful character in this drama. Everything was against him since birth :/ and then he lives a lonely life because his heart couldn’t love anyone else but RL :/ a girl who doesn’t even want to spare him 2mins lol

The General isn’t a black and white bad guy. He was in it for revenge, and back in that period, you can’t be too light on anything or it’ll be stupid and it will come back and bite you. He’s being called the leader, yet you can see the guy who is the leader of the assassin group doesn’t really listen to him but his mother (he just didn’t know that, he thought the guy just hell bend on revenge and do what is best, most effective even if it’s cruel). And since the General isn’t doing everything personally, if his subordinates has any other motives, and want to undermine him, not much he can do apart from killing them to set an example, which he didn’t do lol. But everyone is doing bad thing to benefit him, so ultimately he’s the bad guy in WY and RL’s eyes. And as you can see, no matter how hard he tried to explain, but if RL couldn’t even care to listen, he could not. And even the General did not know who is really undermined him/orchestrated the whole thing

The drama answered this question: does Fu Chou loves RL because WY loves RL in 46, when the sister told him he’s hell bend on RL because WY has her, and FC slammed back with the “you are not me, do not think you understand my feelings!”. Soon after ep 35, FC has a talk with the official’s daughter (1 of the two who loves him), and basically said outright why he couldn’t love her, and think very little of her “declared undying love for him”. It was because he thinks she’s naive, and a spoiled brat who has no idea about the world and loves the image he project, she has never truly seen him, so how could her love be real? And he was very right, after seeing the true him, she stopped loving him, and switch to WY, because he’s now the perfect gentleman by definition! And the other girl, he was kind to her while they were comrades, more of a siblings thing, and when she tries to be closed to him, knowing he couldn’t love her, he distanced himself, she just didn’t get the clue, and continue to undermine him, and to him, that’s not love. I Know you are team general, too, Nayto, just want to write this out lol!

Yea, I agree with the repetitive gut wrenching, and only Fu Chou cough that -.- you can argue Leo also cough it, but not in the same way: cold icy bucket of water pour down his head like Fu Chou, every time, without fail! I have to say 45, fu chou’s moment made the drama lol. I laughed at 46, even Fu Chou felt how ironic and how pathetic he is, he was happy to just die there, and end his miserable life. And how even injured, he tried to get back to her, just to be scold yet again, and agree he should never try to see her again at all.
This is why I don’t feel much for the OTP, compare to what Fu Chou goes through, these two are peachy! And RL in the next few episodes, got protected by the 3 men! As the series goes on, my least favourite character is definitely Wu You -.- he’s just annoying, and all about revenge this and revenge that on Fu Chou, and I’m like Uhm, that guy is your brother, your dad tried to kill him, but fail, he killed your/his dad, fair game (even though he didn’t) basically all these were last generation, he kept not trying to kill you, while saving your wife, take that as the start and start thinking outside this dumb loop revenge plot -.- Fu Chou character literally after finding his mother, has gone to another stage, where he starts to question his mother, and be an actual smart man like he always has been and was. Whereas Wu You is just uh -.- I don’t know why I continue watching my Fu Chou getting scold by RL lol, but his acting is just so good, that I couldn’t help myself lol.
I think the thing that make it not so repetitive for me is his expression, it went from anger for being misunderstood, to succumbed to bad luck and bad deal of hand that was given to him, to realising his mother was cruel and that his love just harm the one person he loves.
