Interesting. At what point did the drama turn you around? If you can give me the episodes number that would be great. I tried to watch it, and at 14, I was pretty much exhausted in trying, I could have dropped it way earlier! And as much as I want to find out more about the storyline, it felt like a crappy road to get there lol

Nice article. And yes, we have many reviews that could list what I call major negative detrimental point of a good drama and still give it a 10/10! Then we have people attacking people for giving bad rating (<3/10). It’s freedom of speech, and nothing is objective about rating. You give a drama a score based on your POV, nothing is objective about your POV, but not many get that.

How I start a series: I look at the score, then check who’s in it, or the other way around, then I read the review to see if the score was worried noting. Then I start watching first episode, if I can manage pass first 10mins, it’s prettt ok. If after 10mins, all I feel is this heavy boulder of keep going, guess what, it’s a bad drama. Sometimes I do make mistake for judging it too fast, but other time, not really as I still have that same feeling 10ep in!
If you upvote popular series with a 10, don’t expect other to not voting it down. In a sense, over time, it will balance out and give it an accurate reading :)

Yea, other Asian news site have been running her stories. And one of the thing about her is that you can be sure she won’t just vanished forever, she is quite smart, made herself well known globally and in a sense, that’s her safety net. Idk whether she put herself in that situation to make sure nothing bad happen to her or just coincidentally, but either way, because of her global rep, she got off easy and out safely. Anyway, I’m sure she’s bounced back lol, these days, it’s hard to kill a celebrity unless you are that dude from 2 and 1/2 man xD

How’s that overreacting? Do you think if she has successfully evade tax and manage to go through this scotched free, she wouldn’t tip off her brother? What I said is just a simple matter of fact. The whole bag over her head is for privacy, could be protecting her in case the allegations were incorrect, no need to blow the trumpet when they just need to do routine check? Also they don’t want information leak out and interfered with the investigation, and alert those higher in the food chain that might have been back supporting her. Many reasons why that’s fine. I don’t like China, but compare to other unknown peoples, who has it a lot worse than her, she literally got it very easy. Check out that one reporter guy who the government gave him a social rating of zero, he’s not allowed to interact with anyone, or go out to the main streets, he’s scared for his daughter’s life because she can’t get into a good school because the government blacklisted him!

Lol, I’m just gonna say this: say you are rich, you hire a famous accountant to do your work for you. And you make yourself clear you don’t want to evade tax, the accountant won’t suggest a thing because his profession would be on the line, a lot more than yours will be if you somehow suggested the idea first then got shut down by the accountants. There is managing her money and there is draw up two seperate contracts with two different numbers and only file one of them to the tax office! You would know if you sign 2 contract papers! At least, you would quickly skim the numbers on them and see they are different numbers and not identical!

Erh force to tax evade? That sound far fetched, if you say she’s forced to evade tax so that she can give the high ranking officials the evade sum then she would be untouchable. So what if a tv presenter hinted she might have evade tax? Even him didn’t say outright it was her he meant, and after the investigation, they could just clear her name, but nope.

I know she’s famous and have fans but a lot of you seems to take her side and believe she’s innocent which is way beyond me. But that’s just me. Also, this Ying yang contract isn’t like the accountant change a number here and there, it’s an actual big sum on a different contract paper which she herself has to read and sign. And if she wasn’t the head of it,she would totally put it on her accountants!

And if she didn’t get find out, he will evade tax the same way as his sister did -.-

Sacrificial lamb? If she didn’t do it, she wouldn’t been found guilty! Her sentence is actually pretty light, look like a sacrificial lamb to warn other, but she did not have it bad at all. There are cases of actresses/actors evade a lot less tax and in jail! She got off pretty lightly

Btw, every drama is what you said of the western series, a collection of small stories with a big story behind, this one has the story of the water god, the evil princess, bunch of other backstories, etc.

I think I’m into fantasy setting enough if the story is compelling. And I agree that TMOPB is slow at the start, however, I watched from the jump off and that start was compelling. Are you saying I will feel compelling if I watch this drama from say after she kills him? And the start: always a lazy main lead, that everyone doted on, don’t have to work for anything. Just that introduction make me tired of the main lead.

Have you seen any western series? In any western series, the first one or two episodes create a tone for the rest of the series, every 10 episodes or so, they also do something to keep audiences interest.

For a long drama like this, it needs a strong first two episodes that keep the audiences’ interest and providing some sort of compelling force for us to keep going. This is especially true with online watching as the drama is no longer always on tv and at the background so you can jump in and out depend on how snoozefest it gets.

And that’s the reality of that, if the drama couldn’t get how to keep the audience’s interest for the first 2 episodes, who can say the next 30 will? By wasting our 30 hours just to confirm it? That would be stupid. There is patience and there is not a compelling drama with a compelling start??

Whatever you said doesn’t seem to justify the OP’s on why he can’t stand JinMi because she killed her lover? You don’t go around killing someone you remotely like (like your friend, let alone lover). You rambling on and on about XF and his love, but not her love? I think the OP wanted to say there is some line you shouldn’t cross, once that cross, you can be sorry and whatever, but thing ain’t going back the way it was.

Just read about Time and the male lead before seeing your article, knew it was about him after I read the article. Very well written article, and it is sad that after I heard of the response to the press conference, that my worst fear come true. I might not care or interested in the drama itself as idk the main actor, and seohyun isn’t my bias, but I was afraid this pressure will further push him down the dark path. Couple that with SK’s infamous rate of celebrity suicide, it is just a sad situation.

Anyway, Heath Ledger also overdose because of method acting. He was so immersed in the joker role, having trouble to sleep, that’s why he took way too much pills. That’s why I hope the young fans would grow up a bit, just because you love an onscreen couple, they don’t have to be irl couple! Remember time will show true characters! Don’t be so harsh by just 1 incident

I gave it a 1 because it bored me to dead so I have to drop it >_> nothing new or interesting.... two episodes in and all I feel is drag, I don’t think I can last 66 eps of this snorefest?
