it’s not unpopular opinion lol, Chinese new rule is literally ruining every drama currently out, apart from LYF and FP, because they managed to split it into 2 seasons, a gamble no one want to do?! 🤷♀️ while I dislike 50+ eps series, the current 40eps are pretty short when you have decent storyline, MM can also do with a few more to go further with JY n XY and make a nicer ending (where JY sacrifice himself to shield off FY lol) but then we need the ending where the leads got parted n meet again 😅

I think the main problem is episode limit. given the limit n how they wanted to do the 5 contemplation, it doesn’t leave a lot of room. that’s why they went full on reinventing a new original story. also it doesn’t feel as romantic if the past looks like ALP: where TQ just chase after shangu, ignoring YueMi, then only started to miss her because everyone left him 🤦♀️ like they will need to show a lot more than 2eps for us to be convinced that this man trying to put her back together for 60k years out of love n not guilt n has nothing else to do 🤣also they tried to stay clear from reincarnations because (censorship?!) lol. also progressive thinking, even if they were reincarnations, so what? they no longer have that memories, they are who they are today, not who they were 60k years ago. Yes, in my previous comment, FY’s soften in ep2 when she wanted to celebrate her dad’s birthday. Then the subsequent actions she took in regards to her dad also strike a cord in him. And all the things she did after also made him see himself in her, and in a more favourable light, and of course trying to help her not become him. N the fact that they keep throwing hint at each other: I won’t let you die, enjoy being under his wing n protection, proud of how he claimed she is his person and he gives her the right to be 🤣 so much subtle hint in this, and how he said doesn’t matter how well he knows her, so long as he knows more than that other person, she also noticed that. Then the resentment really dig that hole bigger 🥰🥰🥰 I’m enjoying this arc so much 🤣

Fair. This is why I’m not totally happy with the drama, as in the book, LSS went through everything that TTJ did for the 500 years of looking for her. She got a better understanding of his love. And the ending in the book is she has to coax him home, which is the “I love you” we, as audiences, have been waiting to hear. I do advice you to read the HE chapter of the book, it’s sweet 🥰 ultimately, what not perfect about TTEOTM is the 40eps format, if they have another 5-10, we would have gotten our HE. They just don’t have time 😖 So they went brutal

I was not happy about the ending, but I love the novel, soooo I just ignore the drama ending lawl 🤦♀️ I’m like that’s fine, the whole time I’m reading it, I saw LYX as TTJ n BL as YXW/LSS, BL atm is the only actress that both strong as a rock but delicate as a flower. Very much like YXW/LSS, she’s determined, strong minded, but she’s also very domestic, she loves someone, she follows that person. Just like BL, she’s strong, tomboyish in behaviours and what’s not, but a very thoughtful girl, who gentle at treating all her friends n loved one.
