i am having hard time in just ep 2 (reading more than watching these days). Does it get any better?
๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ DUDE! You just got me excited for nothing... I was looking for it this morning and didn't see it under LATEST so when I just read that thought "maybe you have to type it in to search" but it doesn't come up at all yet ๐ญ

I LOVED Kiss Me, Save Me โค๏ธ It wasn't perfect but it was so cute and yes, the ML was good in his dual role. This one.... yeah, I just was telling someone else who was iffy about the first few episodes that if you didn't like the beginning, that's honestly the best, most coherent part and then it devolves into a story mess relying on their pretty faces, acting ability and cinematography to carry the show... ๐๐ฎโ๐จ
You're not the only one who didn't understand the point... I figured the same that it had to be because she wanted…
๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ See even HE said with the edicts she was being "cruel and stubborn" so exactly... ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I'm not sure what type of mini dramas you watch but there ARE several out there that are better at plot without sacrificing on something else, but the trend does seem to be "Choose ONE: Consistent Plot, Spice OR Cinematography and Costuming"
Hopefully you have better luck than I did with these last episodes... I caved and bought the Express... I wish…
I DID read all of your comment ๐ I just don't really have anything to say about the rest other than the first part (but didn't want to make it seem like that's all I read ๐คฃ๐คก)
As for that scene at 12 minutes I DO get why you first saw it that way and are now questioning. When I was watching my brain was LITERALLY playing optical illusion with that line myself where I too at first was like "okay so he keeps coming and going..." But with me I kept going back to the part about how the Edict arrived when it said that the King had ALREADY surrendered and then he was given the choice... Then when 5 years passed he comes back and AGAIN says that he can stay because the King of Wei surrendered. So if they contradicted themselves there why not 3 seconds later? Honestly if they wanted to make us KNOW that he had been coming and going for 5 years just give us a 30 second scene showing him sneaking back in black and them hugging then him saying something like "Right now you need to consolidate your rule and already the next ruler is causing issues. Ill come back when I can but first, answer my question..." Her: "Of course I love you" *5 years Later* (proceed with end scenes). ๐คทโโ๏ธ

IDK if you ended up watching more or just dropping it but yeah... dropping this is/was probably the thing to do. For someone who NEEDS the story to make sense... I'm trying to forget this show existed now.
You're not the only one who didn't understand the point... I figured the same that it had to be because she wanted…
That was also my thing by the end "she's done NOTHING for him". There's being a simp for someone you love and who loves you back... And there's being a simp for the IDEA of someone you never even ACTUALLY met as a child, but who grew up and became the object of your undying worship. By the end, "in theory" she loves him because he has saved and protected her so many times... but what has SHE done for HIM? ๐คฃ
Hopefully you have better luck than I did with these last episodes... I caved and bought the Express... I wish…
Okay lol I understand if you didn't think too much about it, I've had those dramas that I've absolutely loved and been blinded by. This one started out that way for me too which is probably why I'm as frustrated as I am. As you yourself said "he has to pick HER"... But why? He's always picked her every single time since he was a child. Now he has to "pick her" again but THIS TIME he loses his name and status, his mother (because the world says he's dead), AND STILL be away from her for 5 years ๐คฃ. How did he even get INTO the palace as a dead no name? What has HE been doing the last.5 years? I saw him and "almost" thought it was one of those ends where he'd been there the past 5 years but no, they made sure to tell us that he has indeed been gone doing something, maybe fighting more war? for the past 5 years...
Which is another thing lol... the military actions that had him leaving the palace were to suppress Wei and make it so they didn't go to war. That pre-end scene had him saying that since he'd suppressed the border he could go home since the "Emperor was ill"... and even the Edict said that he could EITHER go to some OTHER place and never return OR play dead and return.... So WHY did it take him 5 years? ๐๐คฃ
For me there's a "I can guess the ending so I'm not shocked" and "This makes no sense so even though we were told the ending as the very FIRST intro prolouge to the show, by that point nothing actually was supporting it so guessing the end is pointless. ๐
This drama's plot is a little messy but I somehow still like the drama. Maybe because this one is short and easy…
Hopefully you have better luck than I did with these last episodes... I caved and bought the Express... I wish I could UNbuy the Express and purge the ending nonsense from my head ๐ฎโ๐จ
Good short drama. Watched for ML. Visuals and cinematography was great for a short drama. Didn't quite get why…
You're not the only one who didn't understand the point... I figured the same that it had to be because she wanted to rule that that entire last 1/3 of the drama devolved into a mess that made very little sense to me... Like why did the Noble Consort help with killing the Emperor? Why didn't SHE want the throne since she was the Noble Consort... The whole sudden war also made no sense to me, why was the Guardian Duke plotting to Rebel through the other country with the Crown Prince... ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐ And then the explanation about her mother just "nah, she's been dead for 10 years after trying to help the female assassins... WHY was she trying to help them? Why didn't the Crown Prince know?
Like you said, don't think too much, BUT this one started off rather well with a simple enough premise and became a mess story-wise.
Personally, I was initially going NOOOOO but then the episode continued and by the very end... I was okay with…
Yeah I personally thought that was rather well done also because every scene they had together he treated her well and always listened to her opinions etc but he was just so blinded by his insistence that he loved Anning that he didn't recognize what he actually had until it was gone and there was no one there to help him any longer.
Personally, I was initially going NOOOOO but then the episode continued and by the very end... I was okay with the end. They basically told us multiple times how the story was going to ultimately end in both the song lyrics and each time she went to the temple and did the divination. Having him wait and get the affairs in order and make sure the country was stable was the very best thing he could do in his situation... He'd already lost her once, losing her a second time (this time because he was literally too slow to catch her) would have been a daily torture for him. Now, in the afterlife or in their next life etc, they can hopefully be together.
There were issues for sure but OVERALL I found that from beginning to end I personally loved this show. My biggest issues surround Zhi Dai/ Tanghua relationship and the Weapon Spirits where they seem to just disappear and the female one is just "there" with ZERO story. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Iโm a hopeful romantic and will interpret it as a happy ending. Sheโs definitely going to come back.
I agree. I watched it and immediately thought "this is probably the happiest "sad" ending I've ever seen". They doubled down on the fact that she WILL eventually be able to reincarnate back to him again and fulfill her promise, it will just take an unknown period of time. Personally, while I am happy with the end as it stands I also am confused because her vow was DEFINITELY that she would die with NO chance of reincarnation...
