Have you seen A Talented Girl Grows Up? It's still a mid-length, lower-budget but it is a longer show at 35 minutes 🙌 - I loved it last year while it was airing, a rather good parody show.

Guan Yue is just so crazy 😅 setting everything up to swoop in and be DGZs "villian in shining armor" 🤣 - "all 25 accounted for" like it wasn't obvious someone could randomly just drive into town at any moment and "happen" to be a doctor 🤡

I'm watching for Guan Yue and he's giving PLENTY 😍😍😍 - LOVING his psycho vibes far.

🤣 I'm caught up to 18 and I feel like the story PLOT has been lost somewhat but I also just don't care because it's been fun seeing them go back and forth poisoning and torturing each other - that sounds SO twisted 😅.

But yeah, where youre at they could have ended the show with "He dies, she dies, she dreams she sees him welcoming her in the afterlife at herasion garden as they walk into a fade out and the show would basically feel complete to me 🤷‍♀️.

I'm not SAD they didn't cause im still watching... but they could have 🤣🤡

I know that this has SUCH low ratings but idc... I'm having a BLAST. I mean, if you want to see a show with a TRUE sado-masochistic push/pull relationship based on love turned to hate because of misunderstandings... it's this show for sure 🤡 - They basically take turns making each other suffer between lines of "you want me don't you" and "you know you still have feelings for me" 🤣

Oh THAT show... 😅 I never would have connected it but yeah... it sort of IS the same premise just switch out incense and confectionary, it even has the competition 🤣

I WAS SOOO BORING 😭 I had held off too because I'd used it as a "okay, you've been good and actually been FINISHING some dramas" show... only for that to be what we got. Both me and my friend were so disappointed.
But now you have me curious... What was the Japanese version?

😭😭😭 I have been waiting for this for SOOOO long - Zhang Ming Zhuo JUST had Into Your Heart released and now she's getting this one right after 🙌 - Next month I'm manifesting Destiny or Jianghu One Knife.

It's interesting to me that if this were a different KIND of show they could have easily ended the story at episode 14 - he's dead, she's dead, as she's dying she's calling out to him, seeing him in garden, they meet up and he actually escapes her family this time as the fade to faze.... THE END.

I do agree with you that there is SOME sort of long game and I did catch each one of those clues you brought up... but also I honestly do agree that the story as a WHOLE so far is very convoluted in the way they are telling it because it's obvious they want to go for the "what's going to happen NEXT" type cliffhangers with each episode ending and when you do that it is absolutely a riveting watch that keeps you on edge... but STORY wise you end up sometimes at a loss because they have to manipulate things that could be easily shown earlier to be true or false as red herrings and misdirection.

I keep falling asleep so I'm still on ep 6. There's like zero comedy til ep 5 and then yeah it was a complete turn around like whiplash. 🤷‍♀️ But I absolutely agree with the reason confusion about her being a chef needed for plot so far at all. There were other ways to do it 😅

He is AMAZING!!! Honestly I personally love him better than DGZ because his scripts "tend" to have more story and less "oh look I'm taking off my shirt for the sake of having my shirt off" 😅 without sacrificing the steam ❤️ - PLUS.... he can do EVERYTHING... comedy, tragedy, psychopath black flag 🥰
Another one he's AMAZING in that really shows off a wide range of talents is Strange Notes. It's not a "romance" but it has a few "romantic" stories and one in particular with him is a romance that was adorable.

One of the interesting things I've personally found about this drama that I'll miss is that even when you DO get a spoiler it's barely a "real" spoiler since so much of the show is set up around having you react based on the scenes. Take the mop scene... I saw a screen shot and someone talking about it before watching the episode but literally NOTHING could prepare me for actually SEEING it myself....

And this goes for some of the less comedic scenes for me as well. When they play the music or change the camera angle it just makes you FEEL the scene in a way no static image or description can.

😅 That's probably a good idea... I've personally already told myself that this one is probably going to be a bias rating based on direction being engaging and ML voice being sinful 🤡 - As long as the plot stays in the ridiculous category i dont know about you but for me it's easier to turn my brain off for those and "just go with it" than if it's just a "little" outlandish or over the top but most of it TRIES to be logical. Its like my brain says "NO this would NOT happen in real life" as opposed to going "Sure, why NOT have all of this happening? This person sleeping with this person? This person torturing this person? "Look doc I'm cured" scenes? Absolutely!" 🤡
