I watched all of episode 17 today just WAITING for the shoe to drop. Like I was on high alert and on edge the ENTIRE episode! π« Ugh this show brings forth just so much just from the experience of watching it.
I showed the hug scene from yesterday to a coworker who doesn't watch CDramas and I was giving her the brief scene background and she was like "He looks dead inside. Like he's smiling but his eyes are haunted. How is anyone believing he is "okay"?" Until she pointed it out I didn't actually realize just how well he was acting since I had been engrossed in the story unfolding and not really "staring" at the actors so to speak.
But then the trip to his dad confirmed that people DID notice and they realized they were helpless to help him.
This exactly π I came here and see people complaining about editing and transitions and I'm just like "Huh"…
π€£ There are good ones and bad ones. If you wanted to give a try to an honest to goodness GOOD one right now, Scent of New Dawn is currently airing and the cinematography and sound design on it is A+.

I will admit to watching a TON of mini dramas though and maybe that helps in this case since they can be fast paced to the point of "What just happened" literally and having to fill in the blank because things actually WEREN'T shown π€£ - So them going fast paced but still keeping the entire story is good the way I see it. Right now I'm viewing the show as a cat and mouse chess game where what you initially see isn't "always" what the truth actually is.
Hmmm Saw some mentioning the cuts and editing of the drama? Well Just wanted to give some insights to that. The…

In a historical context, she does have a right to separate them. Also, she is not trampling the male lead. By…
okay, as long as it wasn't missed but was considered in your assessment I understand your feelings. While I definitely had issues with the script I didn't personally have issues with that part since her motivation made sense to me, but if it feels lacking to you then absolutely anything else after is going to look ridiculous and not worth the time it watch.

I'm fairly certain you missed the part where she was ONLY able to take her revenge because her mother-in-law had already signed the divorce papers for her and TOLD her to marry the 2ML as well. This was because it was the only way she was going to live. Their family had been accused of treason, ALL family members were implicated at that time and she only ended up not being implicated because by no longer being married to him and married to 2ML she was no longer part of his family.
Hope this helps you and anyone else resdinf this π This is a popcorn/trash mini with a LOT of emotional tension…
I've done similar things so many times it's not even funny honestly. And I also RELY on autocorrect to try and make sure I'm at least semi-coherent but often it let's me down in HORRIBLE ways like misspelling "interest" to have a "C" in the middle instead of "ter" π. I actually re-read the comment myself to make sure I HADN'T made that error somehow. π€£

Sorry if you felt that way. I wasn't trying to force thoughts on you, I was somewhat agreeing with you just trying to frame the situation in a different light. That it was a momentary inspiration not a lasting inspiration for getting better.

So they had the romance going before the event happened though. Yes it wasn't EXPLICITLY stated between them but it was an implied romance between the both of them that they knew would need to be placed "on hold" until they were both back home again. So her being his anchor doesn't feel out of place at all to me. They are BOTH each others anchor, both claiming to be "fine" it's just that since he saw her in the hospital and saw her breaking down outside work he has a little more insight into just how NOT fine she truly is right now. But SHE is working on it and if she can do it then that gives him the courage to do it as well. But as you see, it's still a LOT harder for him because just thinking "I want to get better so I can have a relationship with the girl I like" ISN'T realistic and long lasting when you constantly have thoughts in your head that you are a failure and don't deserve to be alive let alone be with a girl you like.
I'm at episode 5 and all i see is CCP propaganda and too much Chinese culture superiority lol π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£
So this is HONESTLY very toned down for what is "usually" seen in these types of military/police etc theme shows which is probably one reason they stressed so hard he was a Volunteer and not a Soldier so they could get away with more.
Hope this helps you and anyone else resdinf this π This is a popcorn/trash mini with a LOT of emotional tension…
π€£π€£π€£ No, its not "quite" to that level - though if you want one of THOSE shows you should watch Embrace in The Dark Night. My assessment of THAT one is that it is "essentially" what you would get if you took a soft-core and cut out all the ACTUAL scenes but left EVERYTHING else and made some things inuendos... including bad music.
Okay, I'm planning to go into this with extremely low expectations, but can anyone give a quick rundown of who…
Hope this helps you and anyone else resdinf this π
This is a popcorn/trash mini with a LOT of emotional tension and manipulation used throughout.
It ABSOLUTELY has a plot though so if you completely turn off your brain you will look up and realize you're suddenly lost on what's happening.
I would say if you enjoyed Tale of Love and Loyalty but wanted a more nuanced and detailed plot, try this. However it's not a "copy" of that show despite how it feels in the beginning episodes.
While there IS spice in the show, due to the nature of the relationship (her being married to another man) it is not "as spicy" as the length might suggest it "could" be... instead there is a lot of "I can't, leave me alone"/"no, you're mine" push/pull dynamic.
The FL can come off as cruel at times. The ML can come off as a VERY one-minded simp who cries easily.
BTS clips has the ML laughing at the script saying "Changable Poison. When I fight with my brothers I'm poisoned. When I'm with my wife, I'm cured and strong!" and "I don't have the strength to fight but I can make out with my wife!"
I was personally SAT for these last Express episodes π€£ - I fully turned off my brain and just... DANG it became fun to watch.... ESPECIALLY episodes 35 and 41 (for different reasons)
