Not Me coming back to re-read a message I wrote one day several weeks ago and seeing my brain had missed a word while typing that basically made the entire comment say something different than what I meant. And yet then other times I'll randomly insert a word that doesn't belong there. 😅 It's 100x worse when my brain REALLY isn't working so I write it wrong AND read it back wrong.

Oh no, I think you read that wrong or I wrote it slightly wrong maybe forgetting a word idk, I'm in the middle of another conversation right now but wanted to respond to this so can't go back and look exactly what I wrote just know what I "meant"....

Essentially I wasn't saying he would IMMEDIATELY do it. It would be one of those things like K was saying either he would grow to slowly hate HER for the Resentment OR he would indeed see how much it was his mother causing the issue between him and K and as such remove his mother from the equation. I could absolutely see him (with his current character growth nit idealized future growth) rationalizing that his mother has had a hard life after his dad died and "just needs some rest to clear her mind" and "suggesting" aka telling her that she needs to take a step back and reexamine the womanly virtues or something herself and perhaps she will have a better time doing this at their country home away from the bad influences of the city. Or even spinning it that she can prey and the temple more for greater harmony between the family better outside the city.

So I'm not positive myself but when I watched the scene one of the "positive qualities" they were loudly proclaiming about her was how well she was able to weave fabric (among other virtues). Then in walks the servant with the cloth and everyone goes quiet so I took it to mean the cloth was actually NOT such good quality, proving the Matchmaker was exaggerating her claims.... and if she was exaggerating the claim about the cloth what ELSE was being exaggerated?

This EXACTLY! She absolutely had his number (at least to some degree) regarding what would end up happening in their marriage. That's also if he didn't just ship his mother off to the countryside somewhere as "punishment" because she interfered. While he has admiration for HER, he really needs to learn just how much her family TRULY means to her and by turn better appreciate his own mother and THEN they might be in a situation where they can renegotiate terms.

It's also the only one with a one-way arrow which has me wondering if they DO end up together... I mean the synopsis say everyone has a match but... 🤷‍♀️😅

Got several days behind and binged to catch up and my eyes kept glued to the screen but I loved the BTS where ZJW makes fun of the poison 🤣

That's what I mean by it wasn't explained very well because Bai Shuo and Fan Yue were talking about how he's gone to be with her but "not" with her among the stars. If he'd stayed he NEVER would have been with her either because Bai Shuo only loved Fan Yue, not Jing Yuan and Bai Shuo was very clear that even though the MANTLE said they were the same person and they looked the same, they really weren't. Xing Yue wasn't coming back, she would have when Bai Shuo collected the Contemplation Stone if she was going to, and he accepted that so he left.

This one by FAR. Just finished MM and had to force myself to finish it since it was rinse repeat side story after side story with forced emotion songs that failed on me. 🤷‍♀️ But some people are LOVING it.

I finished. I'm still contemplating my rating but honestly I'm not an "overall" fan. The main couple story did literally nothing for me which has nothing to do with the actors because found myself interested and engaged during the Mu and Past storylines, I just literally didn't connect to them as their main characters. I enjoyed the 1st Resentment love story arc but then most every other side story was mostly boring and had me going "AGAIN? Of course". The MOST invested though was 2nd couple and that was spelled out from the beginning so... 🤷‍♀️. Overall I finished it because I was interested "enough" in the story to want to know what happened next but the entire process made my brain feel like it was a chore. 😮‍💨 Glad so many DID like this show though. If nothing else I thought it had some pretty shots and was the first time I saw a show depict ACTUAL fireflies not weird blobs of light 😅.

Because they did "make shit up". Xing Yue WAS supposed to come back but Bai Shuo essentially never awoke her, that's what they kept saying even to the end with Heaven dialog, that she broke the rules and even though she should have become Xing Yue she instead managed to raise HERSELF up to becoming a deity.

The Melodrama is EVERYONE dies at some point. It is VERY repetitive. The last minute HEA makes no sense imo.

First these are MAJOR spoilers so please cover them as not everyone has finished the show yet. ❤️
As for ZM disappearing, it makes the MOST logical conclusion because DL IS ZM, just having fallen and gotten the Demon powers. Of they BOTH survived then by the time 10,000 years rolled around nothing would have changed because DL became DL because his memories were tampered with and he couldn't handle it. But now that he has already survived once he KNOWS it's fake and has surrendered back to being ZM (just with Demon powers).
As for the last bit... yeah I was honestly in the camp that I wanted XXC to be "dead" and Pearl to be "dead" so that if they came together in the end it was with knowledge and acceptance that they WEREN'T the same people but they still were to a degree and fall back in love for who they are NOW. They instead actually did end it like you said, all three personalities merging to one and still on love with MXL.

I'm honestly not going to go back through the episodes to find it but I'm fairly certain TH did say EVERYTHING was going to be destroyed and that included them. He was going to restart from zero because Pearl was compromised.

So I'm not going to say that everything made perfect sense but to me (and I didn't read the novel just going off the show) this wasnt a contradiction. They demonstrated throughout that even people who did not care about humanity would decide to join forces for the one they cared about. MXL for instance only was shown to only care when XXC did.
Because of this, think back to when they established that Pearl in the past was beginning to have her emotions awakened and go through the pain caused by having the emotional vein. Fate was attached to Pearl. Fate took the pain from the emotional vein into himself because of this attachment. He's informed by HT that the world is going to end anyway so it doesn't matter and he needs to help ZM become strong. No, he does not care at all about "The World" and "Humanity" himself... he cares that EVERYTHING including him and more specifically Pearl are about to be destroyed "just because".

So I'm not going to argue that it made perfect logical sense but specifically regarding "FL and ML also entered his Book of Fate" Mu Xuanling actually didn't enter it, she entered an illusion of it. As for The Demon Lord Zhao Ming entering it, he was also the one that went back in time and reentered the 10,000 year cycle with his memories intact so he'd have no reason to go in the second time around. In fact, a lot of Nan Xu Yue interactions in the mortal realm were as "just existing" for the most part, only stepping in surrounding MXL and XXC.

I will say the biggest and most obvious ripple though would be surrounding Feng Yao as he DID step in with her directly. But even then when they were having the conversation about her brother ACTUALLY being alive it had been hinted that her brother still would have gotten better regardless and still would have been taken by an Evil Cultivator and then the Sect regardless, even if he hadn't stepped in.
