Giving this a 4/10 because I want to think that "some" of the issues I had was translation problems but yeah... This was bad and I have no idea what was going on most of the time.
Finally finished the last few episodes. I really liked the beginning and middle but those last couple just felt weird. Especially 22/23. (Few times I broke out 3x speed).
24 isn't bad since it's basically a wrap-up for their relationship but even then I watched it on 2x speed.
7/10 for being ridiculous. This is a trash show through and through but it did end up being enjoyable trash. Plot tried to get crammed into the last few episodes which ended up with potholes in my opinion but overall not bad 🤣
So the emperor was a prince and needed that Lu guy to back him up to become an emperor - or later it seems like…
I think you missed one line that cleared it up. He needed Lu because he wasn't the Emperor YET. Their dad was and that's what the whole thing about arranging bandits so that the ML and FL would meet meant because they were BOTH crying off their arranged wedding for not knowing eachother but if they were married then the Prince (ML) would be seen as just as equal a successor as his brother.
So Lu was saying that if he married HIS daughter he'd have HIS backing instead (in other words he would be the default choice, even if the brother married).
But what the sister did by sending her letter was say nope, I'm being petty and making my man the Emperor AND messing over my sister's new love life so that he can have everything he's ever wanted since he's never loved me anyway and is proving it by killing me...
Liking this, surpisingly good but wtf with the ending, the last two ep didn't make any sense & they just left…
Basically the last two episodes showed us that her sister was a b*tch who was jealous that her husband (the Emperor) loved her and not her sister whom he was married to. She knew that her sister liked the Prince and sent the letter telling her to marry the Emperor knowing how obsessed the dude was with her. Then she willingly took the poison and died, sealing everyone's fates. All because she loved a crazy guy more than her own sister.
Parts were a 3, parts were a 7. I watched at least half of the show at 1.5x speed wondering why if felt like it was taking all day to get through a single episode.
No, they're not related at all. ML is son of queen chick and dead father. Fostered by Emperor. The FL is the twin of the Crown Prince who is not shown in this drama (presumably he's still at home in the palace of capital city).
