Even Sarm says he's a few cards short of a full deck in this last episode. And he spends most of his life drunk. Yeah, he's a real catch.

It's a really dumb script and not Max and Nat's fault. I continue to watch it because I really like them despite the fact that I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would want to marry Sarm. In a BL the characters are supposed to be likeable enough to make a convincing couple.

It's slapstick. If you like Jerry Lewis or The Three Stooges this might be up your alley.

It wasn't in the top 10 when I posted the comment, in fact it wasn't even on the list of popular shows. It's probably low budget crap so it won't hurt DMD all that much. I guess they owed Poppy a starring role.

It's the normal length of a pilot, 13:35 minutes. The Next Prince pilot was 19 minutes.

At this rate we will be lucky to see this a year from now.

I liked Two Worlds and Naughty Babe. Your Third it's just cringe-worthy crap. Who the hell would want to fall in love with a man who acts like a 3-year-old and has serious mental health issues? I would have dropped it if it wasn't for Max and Nat. I did drop Suntiny. That was unwatchable. The rating that this series has gotten so far is generous in my opinion.

I've been to over 50 countries. Every country in western Europe including Scandinavia, a lot of Eastern Europe. Turkey, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand. About half of the countries in South America and most of the countries in Central America.

Trump has zero control over streaming services and all three programs I mentioned were streams. Red White and Royal Blue, Amazon Prime. Heated Rivalry Netflix. Fellow Travelers Paramount Plus. Fellow Travelers under no circumstances would have been able to be on network television. They were absolutely naked in the sex scenes and they were extremely graphic.

And all of those shows aired during the Trump administration. Trump is a fool and he will be gone sooner or later. I hope sooner. The man is half dead as it is.

I'll never defend racism or a homophobia but it exists worldwide. Western Europe is better but in most of the rest of the world is not. My family is multiracial, white, Asian, and black. One of my grandfathers was Chinese although I don't look at all Asian except for my eyes and the lack of body hair.

Gun violence is a problem but we are hardly the only country with issues. Admittedly the ones that are violent are third world countries besides us. We have had massive gun buy back programs. It hasn't worked. People still buy more. They buy more despite gun control, purchasing by illegal means.

I don't know what LS is. Massachusetts does not have a massive poverty problem. West Virginia and DC yes. All poor children in the US are eligible for SNAP a food program and also free healthcare.

Moving to Europe would not make me feel rich. Any City where I would live in Europe would be at least as expensive as where I live now. And the euro trades higher than the dollar. I've never lived for extended periods of time abroad but I have traveled extensively and lived in Milan for 6 months opening a factory for my Italian owned but American based employers, and my family had a vacation home in Cannes.

Although I am happy to visit Thailand and I'm sure I will enjoy my time there I couldn't deal with the weather. The rainy seasons for months at a time and the oppressive heat. Buying a house wouldn't be a problem, I'm sure I could work out something with my Thai friends.

Finally, I'm happy to admit to issues that exist in my country but you are overstating things by a large margin.

But there could be a BL industry in the US and there is a burgeoning market for gay dramas. Red, White and Royal Blue, Fellow Travelers, Heated Rivalry that just blew up on Netflix.

I could see Thai production companies that have been making BL for years getting in on the ground floor of that. It could be a billion dollar industry for them.

And I wasn't suggesting that fan meets in Thailand be $1,000, but that they should be $1,000 in countries that support those fees. They still would have sold out.

As far as poverty goes it's right around 5% in Thailand and around 10%, in the US so more but it's not like people in the US are living in huts for the most part.

I'm a Baby Boomer and approximately 10% to 20% of them have a net worth that equals or exceeds mine. I'm considered rich but not ultra rich, and in New York City I'm merely upper middle class.

A lot of the stuff they buy each other is sponsored. And NuNew and Zee who are the highest paid and richest DMD actors have an estimated net worth between $3 and $5 million for Nhu and $5 and $10 million for Zee.

If they worked in Europe or the US they would be worth much more than that. The money they have makes them rich in Thailand because food, lodging, clothing do not cost the same there as they do elsewhere.

The Bvlgari, Chanel, Van Cleef jewelry they've bought each other doesn't even equal $100,000 between the both of them. They can afford that.

Nhu's house cost north of 10 million baht so something above $300,000 but he hasn't been specific. Zee said that his house cost 30 million baht, or $900,000 US. Nhu paid cash, not sure about Zee.

Also the ticket prices for the US fan meet was ridiculously low. They could have gotten four or five times that because people in the US are used to paying $1,000 for a concert if they really want to go. Taylor Swift tickets can go for $2,000 a ticket. No one traveled to the US to go to the fan meets. The fans already live here and as far as I understand they were sold out.

The woman who wrote the novel for the Thomas Kong series was only willing to let DMD make it if it was shot in New York. So that was their choice shoot it there or not at all.

I'm from New York City and live in a relatively wealthy area in the Washington DC metro area. My condo, my two bedroom condo, cost about three times what Zee's house cost. And it's a nice place but hardly a mansion. My pied a terre in New York City which I've owned for years has a market value north of $5 million and it's 1,200 square feet with one bedroom and a bath and a half.

So they are wealthy in Thailand but they are not wealthy any place else.

Yeah, Thai wealthy isn't wealthy in first world countries. And until Thai artists become known in Europe and North America and can get concerts and acting roles in those countries they will never make that kind of money. In fact actors in the US make much more than they do in Europe.

DMD is actually producing a series with Thomas and Kong in New York, so I guess that's a first step. Unknown Lover. The pilot is on YouTube.

I think I would have enjoyed it if it wasn't so slow. I'm actually interested in Thai culture and have a trip planned with my best friend who is native Thai, came to the US about 20 years ago. So I'll have a built-in interpreter.

Next time I see her I'm going to have to ask her about Thai comedy and what she thinks about it.

No I'm saying that it doesn't cater to most people, not even Thai people.

Right now I'm looking at IQIYIs main page. On top is always their most popular series.

The D Dorm isn't listed anywhere, and neither is Your Third which is primarily the same kind of comedy even if it is a BL.

But Mr Fanboy is one of the most popular and it has that top 10% label on it.

You don't need my opinion just the numbers. I didn't watch Khemjira either because I'm not into mysticism but it was well done. And I did watch the second part of the last episode to see if Thomas and Namping had good chemistry and they did have a comfortable good acting relationship. I think they'll go far in something else.

They might make some money but not nearly as much money as they do when they include the international audience.

So if I was Aof, and I thought that Thai comedy was an important part of promoting Thai culture to an international audience, I would put small parts of it into other productions and hope that it would get some converts in the International community.

That hasn't happened so far. For example, Your Third which has very little but Thai comedy has abysmal numbers even though it is a BL.

So your choice is either being a niche or appealing to a wide audience. We have this kind of comedy in the US and it doesn't appeal to most people, and I would assume that in Thailand doesn't appeal to most people either even if it is traditional Thai comedy.

DMD wants to make money. That is their first and last priority for producing anything. They are not going to make money appealing only to a Thai audience.

Inserting a small amount of stupid Thai comedy into dramas is something that can be scrolled over and will probably still get an international audience. It's certainly did in Cutie Pie, which is DMDs highest viewed series with a half a billion views .

The only viewership numbers I could come up with on The D Dorm was YouTube because IQIYI doesn't report viewership numbers.

On YouTube all the dramas are shown in four parts. Part one of The D Dorm had the best number of the four parts and that was around 275k viewers. On the other hand Mr Fanboy had 1.4 million viewers on the first part of it's four part episode.

DMD's good BLs get millions of views on YouTube and very often get the top 10% label on IQIYI. That label only persists while the drama is new.

I seriously doubt The D Dorm is going to rate that label. Khemjira, Cutie Pie, and The Next Prince did (and the others I don't remember offhand).

I have an IQIYI subscription. They don't show viewership on any of their dramas. However they will show what is the most viewed if it makes upper 10%. This show will not be making that list. If IQIYI reported viewership I would have shown the numbers. So who's the dense one? 🤡

I have no intentions of watching it. But seems like a waste of time for the company since it is the lowest rated of all of their productions based on YouTube views. IQIYI doesn't show viewer numbers but eventually will show if it makes the top 10%. I doubt this is going to be on that list.

Ratings are different than viewership. You make money on viewership not ratings. Doesn't matter if it is the most rarified series of the year if no one watches it.
