Come to think of it, YT is XN with a different career path and not as well-to-do background. ๐
Naw, even Chinese netizens say that to call this an older version of Xiao Nai is to watch this in a superficial way.
The prime example they gave was when YuTu was in the desert and his team was struggling about reasons for the lag with the rover. He went outside to put his metal bento box away and then the problem along with the solution immediately came to his head, so he went to run back in to say something, but before he could open his mouth, the team leader said what he was going to say. YuTu just smiled in recognition and nodded his head in agreement and sat down with the rest of the team to start working on the solution. This shows YuTu is just one of many, part of a team. He's no better or worse than his teammates. They're all equally working on the projects together.
Xiao Nai was a flawless character who gathered minions to do the grunt work while he created his masterpiece. He doesn't struggle with problems, because he always wins. He doesn't worry about anything, because he's perfect, and has all the answers no one else can find.
I legit cried during this BTS of them in the desert.... OMG! The comfort level. The compatibility! THE KISSING... JFC this two are HOT... no, I mean HAWT af ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ Someone throw cold water on them QUICK!~
[Edit: Note that YangYang spoils us that the desert kissing scene was only after they had been filming for 3 days. Thus, they did this BEFORE they had even done all the other acting to get comfy with each other. I don't think they needed it. They went right into it. hahaha]
What's with the paparazzi doofuses? I didn't understand if they got arrested or what went down when they followed…
So, YT's work is confidential. No one is supposed to know what they're doing or who works there really. It's controlled by military. So, the Papz 1st started to go after QJJ then got all this great footage of YT. They're thinking they're gonna bank in the dough. But then they start to get greedy. They're thinking they can get a full-fledged love story, since what they believe they're seeing is this lovely innocently developing romance that the public will just eat up for being so sweet and cute besides the fact that one is famous.
Now they start to follow YT all over instead of QJJ because they want to get the full lowdown on him and his backstory. They follow him to the front of his workplace, and they're over there taking a bunch of photos. This is a top secret area. Photos are a no go. Secret police come knocking on their car door and take them in believing they are actually SPIES not papz. The Secret Police later question YT with his superiors in tow. They want to know what he's been doing for the past few days. They're trying to corroborate the story that the Papz have given them. YT confirms, yes, QJJ is his g/f. Professor Zhang spits up his tea, because he knows QJJ and he told YT to get his shit together and date her, and because of all his depression lately, and YT being an introvert and not letting anyone at work know, this is how they find out he actually snagged the girl. Of course, Prof. Zhang is elated, because he genuinely likes JJ and how protective she is of his protege. Director Hu is happy because it's a feather in the cap of his project unit. Someone's cool enough to get a famous actress, they're not all nerds that don't know romance. lol. Secret police tell scold YT for not being more careful knowing who is following him, they're supposedly trained for this. They tell the superiors to keep themselves covered, and on their end, they're gonna squash any stories about YT from coming out in the public.
This drama's attention to detail is spectacular. Like when YT rolls down his window on the backed up freeway and looks out, then uses the opportunity to get QJJ to come to his house instead of going back to hers. Later on, no major entertainment outlet will have anything to do with their story. They won't touch it. But that doesn't stop individuals from posting sightings of them on weibo, which they do. They get up the hot search, then, of course, get taken down by the powers that be. One such post will be how a fan saw them on the expressway. LMFAO. They wonder if QJJ is getting old so the entertainment media don't want to promote her. They don't understand why it's happening, they think QJJ's acting cred is diminishing. ;)
Even better than the hot, sexy af kisses are the other subtle little things that make this OTP/CP look and feel real.
Like during the 1st night of the 3 days she spent at his house, when he goes to do the "essays" while she sleeps in the bed. He kisses her on the cheek goodnight. You have no idea how much I appreciate these little details. In other romantic dramas you just get the 1-2, max 3 splashy kisses when a couple initial gets together and at the end of the drama. Past that, you're lucky if your OTP ever holds hands, and the female is always avoiding the males attempts at affection like the plague. That's not reality. THIS IS REALITY.
Like QJJ & YT's hugs! Man, these hugs, so enveloping, full of love, care, adoration, and passion, and they come EVERY TIME they meet each other again, LIKE NORMAL COUPLES DO, and they're just EVERYTHING to me. I thank these two for giving us this amount of detailed attention:
OMG! Tencent just wants to kill me, seriously!! They posted the BTS of the KTV kiss... ...and I just have to say... with the NO ADDED BGM... if I was 1 of the actresses sitting there watching that, my toes would curl. ๐ต๐ฅด๐คญ๐คค๐๐
Yang Yang and Reba were cringing themselves.. this is just a priceless piece of footage:
What's worse with '๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐จ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐' is that…
I like both for different reasons.
The difference for me is, I am an avid Gu Man novel lover. I've loved everything she's written and the adaptations as well. Obviously, I'm an older person so, as far as rating, mine will be much higher for YAMG. But even though this is the case, I still have enjoyed watching FIYS, although the acting is a little questionable at times, so overall, it'll be 2-3 points lower in my ratings. But, given that I'm likely gonna give this drama a 10 and stick it into my all-time FAV drama list, that's still a good rating for FIYS. lol.
oh good!. We should get minimum of 3B views, by the time the series is over. Now, just a question of whether can…
I'm actually still surprised at how much this has increased over the last 8 hours. You realize what time it is in China now? As I write this, it is 9am there.
It's now at 19.4B. I suspect it should start getting more views as people wake up and decide they want to find something to watch on the train ride to work. The episodes are less than 35mins long. Just enough time to invest...then watch more after work. lol. ๐๐
[Edit: Looks like my prediction is right. China wakes up and starts streaming again. It's hit 19.5B in 2 hours.
I watched in an interview of Dilraba and Yang Yang that they both felt that a scene that really made an impact…
This is the process of how Gu Man likes to present her stories relationships. With romantic couples, she really emphasizes communication and emotional/mental parity. She's not a fan of classism, but of people respecting one another. That's what I love so much. Love O2O and Boss & Me are perfect examples of this fact.
This scene was Gu Man giving JingJing emotional parity so that they could finally be together guilt free and with neither of them more powerful than the other in the relationship. They are now truly equals.
my goodness. 3 mins into episode 1 and its so epic. Soundtrack, cinematography, Yang Yang. I hope this continues…
This is a common thread statement for many people watching this drama. The color palette, texture, cinematography is just on point. Also, take note to subtle things that happen in the design/texture. They director tends to subtly accentuate emotions and vibe this way rather than have the actors overtly express things out loud. They're not dramatic with keynote plot points. They rely on the audience, and believe we're smart enough to take in and get the clues. ;)
What's worse with '๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐จ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐' is that…
The only reason to even remotely compare these 2 dramas is the fact the leads are playing the same type of andriod mobile phone game. There is a huge difference from people employed as an actress & aerospace engineer vs actual professional esport gamers on a professional team.
One is actually 100% completely about the game and professional players playing it in a erroneous way. The other is 2 characters playing the game to get the actress out of a media nightmare bind & once that's over, the game is just something fun people play randomly every so often. It's not the focal point of the drama, the couple is. And NO, at no point would a professional ๐๐๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐ or ๐ป๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐พ๐๐๐๐ player EVER playing either of those android mobile games with a keyboard or mouse. It literally is NOT regulation equipment. I don't think you OR the other person understands the point. NO pro player on stage, in a competition is EVER using a computer and mouse, PERIOD. Even if an emulator is possible for CASUAL players who want to do this, it's NOT happening in the pro scene.
[Here's the like to the OPL's website. http://opl.163.com/ --you can watch the live games now, or browse at your leisure.... if you come across a competitive game where a player is using a computer and mouse, let me know and I'll STFU about it. hahahaha]
I'm not concerned about whether or not viewers enjoyed watching the show despite it not being realistic. I'm actually watching it myself...and although, since I am an avid video game player, mainly PC but also do play 'Wild Rift' aka Riot Games version of their LoL game on mobile app, I have to shut my brain off during the scenes they show the gaming, I'm still enjoying it. How it turned out that I was hating this game OR even comparing it to YAMG is beyond me. I think people are really a little oversensitive about factual information that goes against a beloved drama of theirs and have a knee-jerk reaction to it.
Simply put, these TWO dramas have absolutely nothing in common in regards to the plot and concept. It's like watching a drama where an actress was challenged to a swimming competition because she said she was a really good swimmer; her college classmate who was good in sports IN GENERAL comes over to teach her to swim better; she wins the competition, and they start dating to a drama that's about Olympic level swimmers prepping and practicing to get ready for World Championships and qualifying for the next Summer Olympics going for the gold medal.... HOW IS THAT EVEN COMPARABLE. It's simply the fact that these games are played by a niche group of people, and the overall drama viewer population do not play PC or Mobile phone games, know nothing about how they're played, but just assume because they're all supposed "video games" it's all the same.
Again, me point this out shouldn't ever get fans of FIYS upset because they should have already known this fact and that it didn't really matter to the overall viewership in general. Realistically, the only people who would be bothered and find it cumbersome to watch are people who know it's wrong. lol.
What's worse with '๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐จ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐' is that…
No, a lot of people do not use emulators, and the ping is not good. The majority of people who do use them do it for either streaming or disability reasons. Either way, no one in esports is using a computer to play the game. That's against regulations. The pro players ALL play with handheld android cellphones in tournament realm play, period. You can go watch the OPL. It's simply not realistic when the actual point of the drama is pro esports teams and their game play. At home, if you want to use an emulator, that's fine, but you're not doing it for pro games. lol
And of course, you HAVE to **pretend** it's LoL because that's what all these games are COPIED after. The only difference is that they're mobile phone games. Didn't say it was a deal breaker. Said it's not realistic as opposed to "You Are My Glory' being ultra-realistic. One's a Youth Drama, slapstick rom-com while this is a more mature and realistic story about the process of a couple forming. Two totally different things. I'm just saying that the way that FIYS portrayed professional game of the particular game they're supposedly playing is false. That's all.

Well, all I know is that this just clearly bumped up Yang Yang's acting cred. Although Yang Zi isn't known for her kiss scenes, and tends to have very few in her dramas, looks like the idea of working with Yang Yang got her excited. They've had interaction on Weibo & the top of the entertainment sites are saying that that Yang Yang & Yang Zi have finally committed to co-starring in 'Lost You Forever'. With his drama with Rosy, 'Who Rules The World' set to come out, I believe, in September, and then filming this...with Yang Zi... Yang Yang is gonna be in everyone's face for 2021 into 2022. I don't think he's done this much in this short a period of time. He's become a wanted man now.
Notice how they're playing on their handheld just like in 'You Are My Glory'. This is the way that FIYS should have been shown, NOT with computer keyboards and a mouse. It's not realistic.

I am really hoping the momentum sustains past Wednesday. They deserve to have this be a hit. I think it's already a guarantee to go to the very top of my all-time fav dramas. Boss & Me heads that up at the moment...

You're right, my bad. It looks to be 10m every 25 mins. That would calculate to 100m every 10hrs and so far it's hitting 100m between 8-9hours so that seems accurate. Sorry.
If you go on some of the websites, say, like Douban, hahaha... there are actually posts commenting on Reba's smeared and almost non-existent lipstick during their kiss scenes. The main point being made is "these are realistic kisses", not fish lips. ๐
