The trailer for episodes 19-24 are out and all I can say is Yu Tu is in hot pursuit within the first 2 episodes, and the original novel's ending happenings in episode 21.

That means the 16 chapter, sweet as honey, epilogue of their 2-3 year dating relationship antics start by the end of that episode. They're in full swing of their romance and enjoying clowning each other to spice up their relationship by ep 22, showing the dynamics of their relationship. By episode 23, the wolfish side of Yu Tu comes out. lol. By ep. 24, he's got her staying at his house for 3 days, and, unbeknownst to them, the Papz are camped outside his door after trailing them.

BTW, in Ep. 24, Janice Wu will play the actress that's Jing Jing's BFF that JJ couldn't betray by watching her BFF's ex-b/f's movie with Yu Tu when he asked. LFMAO.

How are all of you YAMGlorians doing today? Another wait for more episodes but in the meantime we can chat about…
Someone down the comments was complaining that YT doesn't have any style and wears the same windbreaker and clothes in almost every scene. lol.... Then I read the story, and realized, that's Yu Tu to a T. hahaha.

People, don't worry. He let's her play dress up with him. In certain ways, to prove his love, he becomes a very submissive man. ;)

without the "passive" aggressiveness and "implied" insults, their convo went like this:Xia Qing: starts off trying…
LMFAO., the thing is... without that actually being the dialogue, Yang Yang embodied Yu Tu and this sentiment with his body language so well, you know what he meant. The whole scene was pure art.

Istg there's a clip on Twitter someone posted that shows that part where YT walks past the JJ poster at the bus stop and as he passes the light on the poster goes out. This was just after the 2nd rejection.. Can we just stop and appreciate the kind of freaking art noveau cinematography style this drama has? The aesthetics are pleasing along with the fact that they're following the book basically line by line. The OST is just the *Chef's Kiss* to the whole thing.

I must say, when I read the novel (after the first week of airing) I started enjoying the drama even more. Especially…
Tencent subtitling isn't at the level of, say, Viki app with TNs to elaborate on cultural norms and, for mainly C-Dramas, the proper meaning of an idiom. Tencent subtitling is very perfunctory. With Gu Man's subtle yet detailed style of writing, I think some of what was happening went over foreign viewers heads. I really believe that people should read the novel in its entirety if they want to enjoy the drama. That's just my opinion.

Like you, I've loved it much, much more afterward, and it actually has brought me to tears quite a few times. Yang Yang's depiction of Yu Tu is unbelievably good. I really can see now how good an actor he really is because he's literally become Yu Tu. I went back and rewatched the other episodes again, and realized there was SO MUCH body language I missed. The biggest one was after she left him at the front of the restaurant. Before I was like, yeah, he's stressed out over everything. ...but then I read the book and was like... wow, he's incredible.

the drama follows the novel to the tee ( especially the important lines that make up the novel) and yes the epilogues…
Gu Man’s note to the end of that chapter talked about this “famous aerospace engineer” who decided to publish his love letters to his wife…. Fans were excited to read it. When they picked it up, they found that it was about basic physics and cosmology. LMFAO!

I feel like readers of the novel need to convey to viewers, who have no intention to read the source material of this drama, the subtle, and emotionally healthy points Gu Man is making. Character growth, EQ, relationship balance, and communication, are always central to her plots. That’s why, even if people make attempts to cause problems, they are always shutdown immediately, [ref. Love O2O or Boss & Me] For YAMG, I was absolutely floored how much Yang Yang had injected Yu Tu into his veins when he acted the scene in the book where he gets angry and defensive on JJ’s behalf. He acted it EXACTLY how I imagined that scene in my head when I read it!

The most important part of this “healthy” emotional growth is understanding that, if Yu Tu, accepts her from the start, she will ALWAYS be at a disadvantage in the relationship, no matter how famous and rich she is! She will have been a FEMALE who pursued her mate. She will have been the one who could later have doubts because she’ll feel she always ‘loved him more’ than he loved her. Didn’t his send off to his ex- clarify that?

Yu Tu has to feel all the pain of his stupidity in not taking the time to get to know someone because of his own arrogance and selfishness. He needs to pine over her for a LONG time! In the novel it is quite a few months, now isn’t it! His months must be equal to her 10-12 years! His Team Leader and co-workers even say it: He is melancholy, anti-social, sighing & looking up at the stars…it’s so romantic girls in his team are falling head over heels for him…because everyone can see how lovesick he is at that moment. The Team Leader points out that YT has never been this way before!! The drama encapsulates the entirety of Yu Tu’s emotional character growth. That’s why we don’t necessarily need to SEE JJ crying and pining as well!!!!! Because she’s been there, done that! This is showing it’s HIS turn!! To equal out and balance the relationship!!! It’s a necessary progression.. and it’s sad so many viewers don’t understand this and, thus, FEEL BORED over watching their ML perfecting himself for his woman!!!

JJ deserves to be the pursued NOW, and he has to have the proper character growth to stop being so arrogant and selfish in front of the woman he loves. He already told his mom that’s she’s not gonna get a doting daughter-in-law but the opposite. This is after worrying so long about his mom he’d quit a job he LOVES to protect!!! If people are so BORED they skip over these subtle hints that Gu Man lays down, again, I just feel like: SORRY! It’s your loss, not mine!

Maybe because it is one of the very few times you'll get the see the FL for this week's episodes. :D
In the novel, he's like an adult Xiao Nai, in that, when provoked or they don't get to see each other for extended periods, he becomes 'a beast'. ...so the BTS with them lying on the bed peaked my interest quite a bit. LOL! 😍

You know what?
I think you're totally missing out if you haven't read the novel in its entirety.
If you lack patience with this drama, and exit now, I'll feel bad for you.

This novel was original a short story, not enough to generate even 21 episodes at this current length. However, Gu Man added 16 chapters of epilogue that are PURE sugary romance. It legit is them and their life together, and how they progress, over 2-3 years.

I've seen quite a bit of the BTS and it's obvious that this drama will encapsulate all 16 epilogues. LOL. At 18 episodes, we're at the part of the story just before the epilogues begin. I've also watched all 18, and I can tell you straight up that this drama follows the story practically line by line with nothing missing, and very little added.

That means if you give up watching it now because it's "boring", so be it... it's your loss. hahaha.

Well, they're following the novel...
Yu Tu has to go through this, because Jing Jing has always been the pursuer and now it's time for her to be the pursued instead.

Once he says to her, "....I'm going to be proactive from now on...." this drama is going to kill everyone watching it. You're gonna be dead, and you're gonna be dead while you watch Reba being cute.

Just confirmed with my friend, the series is not that popular with nitizens as it is with waigouren. Anyone who…
I'm not sure what you're talking about?

✅ If you search the Popular drama list on Douban it's No. 1.
✅ It tops the list on drama popularity on TVMao and currently carries a rating of 9.5 there, with mostly positive reviews.
✅ It tops the list on manmankan.
✅ It tops Tencent Video list with 'Love is True' second. Tencent Video is also airing the Olympics so the dramas have to compete with those views. It's surpassed 1.3 billion views, and those are all Chinese, because they don't count international views whatsoever.
✅ All the current data metrics have the drama first, as well as both lead actors.

Whatever problems netizens had with this drama, they'll have to STFU because the next 6 episodes will have nothing to do with a handheld game. In fact, that won't be a part of the drama's direction in the future.

I've read the novel and this entire drama is based on it down to exact dialogue. If you took the story itself and made it into a drama, it won't work, because it's, at most, a short cute story. However, Gu Man added 16 complete epilogue chapters that are just their life together. The fact that there is BTS of them together on a boat, and in the dessert with her dressed in historical costuming proves to me, they're going to do the entire 16 chapters...which means, LOOK OUT FOR UTTER SUGAR AND SWEETNESS.... I don't think I've ever watched a drama that will show what I think they'll be showing...and I'm looking forward to it...

Whether CN fans like the drama or not. hahaha.

Yes! That was the reason I was so excited about this, because I love all drama adaptations of her work. My favorite…
Every one of her adaptations I love and have rated 9/10 or higher. Come & Eat, Shan Shan (drama adaptation name Boss & Me) is my favorite. =)

I think the thing I love most about them is the CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. The characters aren't 100% perfect. They have flaws but what makes them perfect is how the grow and learn and develop MATURE COMMUNICATIONS skills. They say and do things you EXPECT for your normal average everyday citizen. They feel like people who fit into society. That see in your life and on the street and work place everyday. That's exactly the reason why much of her stuff is relatable.

You know why this drama is fresh and beautiful? Gu Man! I have finally read the novel and this drama is almost following it to a T with not much deviation, including the OTP’s words and actions. Gu Man writes relatable stories with couples who struggle in the mature ways we are seeing in regular life without all the additional nonsense and interference tropes you usually see. It’s why I love her writings so much.

I know what you are saying, You are saying that QJJ's unsolicited adverstisement would have been worth something…
I blame subtitling not the drama itself. When the drama is talking about his job, his college mates jobs, her job, and during their night walk he does read the endorsement, so that an average person in China would know what the worth of it is.

This is a Chinese drama, it's not up to them to make it explanatory to foreign viewers. We're lucky we get to watch this with subtitles. I provide the context because of this fact. Consider it the same as getting Translator Notes [TN] in Viki app to further explain what they're subtitling. Frankly, WeTV doesn't provide that level of context so you shouldn't expect it, nor downvote the drama because of a person's lack of Chinese culture, economics, and norms. ;)

Btw, I'll remind everyone that foreign views aren't even considered in Tencent's viewership stats, so that shows how much they care about whether we enjoy the drama or not. This is mainly for Chinese consumption. They're not worried if we downvote it because on all the Chinese data stats pages the drama as well as both starring actors have been on the top of the lists since the drama was released. Many netizens note that this is no small feat since the release of this drama competes against Olympics viewership, yet they're still pulling in big record numbers of views. =)

I finally got around to reading the novel, and WOW! It really does clarify a lot of the criticism people are throwing at it.

Below I made a long post regarding Yu Tu's salary, believing, based on the drama, he worked for Xi'an Aircraft Industrial Corp. Turns out, in the novel, Yu Tu actually works for Shanghai Aerospace Institution. My suggested Yu Tu earnings was based on the other company, but now that it's Shanghai which is MUCH lower than Xi'an, let me correct it. SAI's base salary is $239,188 CNY per year. I was saying that Yu Tu was making likely $46K USD working at Xi'an. Turns out he's making $37K USD working for SAI.
[Salary Ref data: https://www.salaryexpert.com/salary/job/aerospace-engineering-head/china/shanghai ]
[Ref. comment link: https://kisskh.at/62337-you-are-my-glory#comment-6849483]

Yu Tu really is poor.

But then some commenters were bitching about "..why Yu Tu not get paid by Jing Jing for coaching..." Most replies were that they are former schoolmates, & I even felt, based on the drama, that he did it because he felt guilty about the online bashing of him rejecting her in high school.

Turns out, based on the novel, we were all wrong, those complaining about him not getting paid as well. It seemed to all go over everyone's head, but the interaction and reasoning is clearly stated in the novel but was a bit brushed over in the drama.

Here's the gist:
"...Yu Tu clicked to go into WeChat. The research institute’s large work group was currently discussing this in full swing, and about three or four people had simultaneously posted a screenshot of Qiao Jing Jing’s Weibo post.
...
...Xie Yue Yi Lun: I’ve already asked. He said they did not hire her! They asked a less well-known star before and the charge was three hundred thousand for a post, so how would they even dare consider Qiao Jing Jing?"

So, besides her telling him her dilemma, and handing his company a unsolicited endorsement of one of their products that's estimated to be worth more than $300K CNY ...she goes on to beg him:
"..Anyway you’re on vacation, so it should not affect your work …"

And although he felt he was in a difficult position he replied, “You trust me?” When she said yes, he felt it was so similar to when she asked him for help with math, & he didn't even remember why he rejected her back then...and his own thoughts NOW? "..I really have no reason to refuse at this moment. I do have nothing to do currently." So, he agrees.

Qiao Jing Jing confirms & clarifies: “Really?” “Willingly?”

End of this debate is:
"Yu Tu nodded."

I thought this was gonna b a cool drama about some game I neva heard of.BUT, it turns out to be a...Shameless…
Except it's literally the game Honor of Kings they're playing, it's not 100% about gaming. Yu Tu plays games to unwind since his real job is an Aerospace Engineer, and this drama is based ENTIRELY on a story written by Gu Man published by Jiuzhou Press; 1st edition (May 1, 2019) at 345 pages.

The drama was confirmed Oct. 19, 2020, and started filming December 16, 2020, and ended filming January 12, 2021 and is entirely based on Gu Man's book, including the EXACT game she uses in her book. Not 'Wild Rift' nor is 'Wild Rift' even mentioned. On top of that, beta release of 'Wild Rift' in the USA was done March, 2021, 2 months AFTER this drama was completed, and has been approved by NPPA in 2021, although there's not set release date by Tencent, and while doing this drama they had no way of knowing when or even IF the NPPA would approve it for release....

so please don't go making up your own erroneous stories to smear the drama. If you don't like the subject matter fine, but don't accuse production of things they haven't done.

I wasn't planning to watch this because I have already read the books and I am not a fan of Yang Zi's acting.…
I actually felt really bad for her to have any lasting footage of her in any relationship to him. I’m glad she made such a statement. Very respectful and dignified. I know you aren’t, but I happen to be a fan of hers and this just solidifies her worth to me.

He original agreed to help her out as an online QQ friend...then agreed to help in person when he realized she was his schoolmate that got dissed publicly because of him. ;) No more explanation is needed other than Yu Tu is a nice guy with a month's worth of vacation time on his hands.

Person Kris Wu
It's pretty serious when the CCP bans all fan supportive forum sites, CCTV and other agency admonish fans from showing any support, and they mute 3 entertainment industry women's accounts who had participated in slut shaming women who reported on Kris's behavior back in 2016 so that they are unable to defend him again. Then police out and confirm his mom for providing hush mom from Canada, when she had already been rumored to have done this same thing in the 2016 bed pic incident.

On August 1, QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, Kugou Music and other music platforms have removed Wu Yifan’s singer information and personal music works.

Wu Yifan and his studio Weibo , Weibo Chaohua, Douban Character Homepage, Baidu Baijiahao, Baidu Tieba , Toutiao, iQiyi Bubble Circle, etc. have all been banned, and the official blog of the TV series "Qing Zan Xing" has also deleted the relevant content.

Today, it is reported that Wu Yifan's info has disappeared from the homepage of the films and television dramas he has participated in and became the code name 1337000.

I like how you skipped over my explanation. At 30, he's making $46K USD per year at his employment with Xi'An, PERIOD . Fine that he's single. But ask any "30 year old PhD engineer or other occupation" if they can support a wife and kids on that, while covering the cost of the healthcare for 1 of your parents when they get cancer. That is his dilemma. He's not living in YOUR world but his! He can NOT get a raise, based on Xi'an's pay grade for another 10 years. YES, his work is based on YEARS WORKED, end of discussion.

Additionally, you obviously didn't pay attention to what was going on in this drama. Their high school group chat had talked shit about her being rejected by Yu Tu. It hit the headlines and became part of public gossip articles about the FAMOUS ACTRESS. He felt personally BAD about it so he went into the group chat to explain that this wasn't the case AND he ALSO stated, "...if there's anything else that needs to be done, let me know..." She originally brought him there under false pretenses, BUT immediately disclosed this fact to him then when she said, "...let's go for a walk..." not taking him up to her home said false issue, she let him know her exact issues. She asked for his help, and since he is on vacation for a month, she is a classmate that got publicly smeared over issues surrounding him, and he stated that he'd help with anything else, he WILLINGLY agreed to help her, FOR FREE, AND BRING HER BREAKFAST TO BOOT, of his own accord... AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED.

Please stop re-interpreting the facts of this drama to meet your own personal life and needs.
