Is it just me or does every episode fly by so fast it seems like 6 minutes instead of 60? I'm on episode 13 and…
It is a sign of a good storytelling when you don't feel like skipping anything and that every episode is over before you know it. It is a sign of good acting when you don't recognize the actor but the very different portrayal of the character they are representing. This show had it spades with all 50 episodes and every actor that entered onto the screen. What a feat they accomplished here!

I'm the type to wait until a drama's complete then marathon it. I've been watching this for the last 5 days. Yes, it's 50 episodes, but I find myself stopping and starting.. not because I cannot get into, but because it's just so freaking AWESOME I want to savor every moment. I am stunned at the writing. The dialogue and story are perfectly done. It's so mesmerizing and compelling. Great stuff. Then there is all this keen acting, one after another. Everyone is hands down doing such a good job and giving it everything they have. I don't even have one favorite actor in this because they're all so damn good. You know it's a good drama that, even though I want to wring their necks and kick them in the rear, I still had sympathy for the bad guys. When you can even appreciate the bad guys contribution to good acting, you know they're doing really well.

I can honestly say that this is in my top 5 ever, including movies, of historical entertainment. That's saying a lot.. but I cannot help it. This was just written and acted so well.

This the only thing I dislike about the J-dramas, how long they take for us to see them subbed. =(

All I can say is if it wasn't for Kim Jae Joong really improving his acting chops, I'd have dropped this puppy half way through. I was shocked, since I had watched Misaeng before this in the night/day acting ability of Siwon. He just wasn't very strong in this one, sorry to say. Baek Jin Hee, even if she's a pretty girl, was so monotone in this I had a hard to sympathizing with her character and understanding what was driving these guys to fall all over themselves for her. Her emotions were never too much or too little, it made it so stale. It's the only way I can describe it. She just never really changes, no matter what's going on, throughout this drama. Some folks have their good moments... but overall, I found myself ffwding through a majority of the last half of the show.

Okay, so I heard this was fairly good, and I decided to get around to watching it. I've watched a few high school dramas, but this one even with the vampire theme, the setting up, her omnipresent voice explaining things, and then LHJ's eyes as he tries in vain to "act" vampire "intense" was too much for me. I just started cringing. I guess I'm just too old for this. "Beauty" isn't enough to entice me to continue watching it. I had enough of that with the Twilight series.

No worries. I only replied because I know that I made a really big effort to say my thoughts without giving specifics. ;)

I didn't give away any spoilers that you don't already know by reading the synopsis. Everyone knows she's dying, the she has a contract marriage with a rich man for the sake of her kid.

After Misaeng, LSM showed me that great acting can win my heart even in a show without a love line in sight. Based on that and all the comments below when this show finishes up, I'm gonna sit down and marathon it. ;)

Yes. I saw the 2 episode drama... but that's just the beginning. I mean the movie that is the conclusion of the boys fight over Yu. In those 2 ^^^ episodes we see how the boys meet Yu and become attracted to her and decide to fight over her for real... but the final movie is what I'm waiting for...

These ^^^ post is for the "movie"... the other post with the same title is the 2 episode "Special" that aired on NTV last December. ^^^This movie was supposedly released this February. Based on how long it takes to get the DVD released and subbed... I suspected we'll have to wait 4-6 months for the conclusion. I'm just really impatient for it.

I ended up dropping this show half way through. I had watched 2 episodes at the time it came out and put it on hold... Now I tried to come back to it but just couldn't do it. Maybe it's because of GSY and having watched her on WGM. I don't know why... but I just couldn't find the plot, any portion, be it the parents, the kids, the couple, the employees, the co-workers, the money... none of the storyline really got me going. I mean, I kinda understood where they were going with this, but the way they went about it just didn't entertain me.

I would liken this show's concept kind of similar to Misaeng, however, Misaeng approached it in such a way that even without romance I was captivated by the relationships, good & bad, between all the players... Even if they seemed insignificant.... HITTG just couldn't pull that off. I wasn't interested in any one person's story in particular... Maybe it was the overt naivety where, at certain points it didn't make sense to me. I don't know, can't put my finger on it really... I just go way to uninterested in it all to bother finishing it up.

Okay, I'm at ep. 14 right now.. and the last 2-3 episodes I found myself ffwd through all the "illness talk" and "chaebol mess".. It's seriously too predictable. The paternal family, not one person, have absolutely no redeemable value as humans. In the beginning you had the maternal side to balance that out... but from like ep.12 to now, they're not even barely there.

If it wasn't for the OTP and kid being so good at selling their romance, and frankly, Lee Seo Jin is playing passion to the hilt, I'd have dropped this show already because it has all the classic cliche K-Drama plot memes you can imagine in it. Not much about it is original. What makes it original is that Lee Seo Jin's Ji Hoon gives off so much feel. You can feel him being hurt for the 1st time, in a real way. You feel his tears are like decades in the making, held back to maintain a wall against the pathetic pigpen mudpile of a family he's had to live with and be controlled by all his life. You feel he's finding himself... and Uee.... she does a good job. She has her really awesome moments, although I don't feel her love for Ji Hoon as much... it's still okay. It works...

So, what I'm saying is, sad or happy ending.... OTP sweet moments are the only thing that's keeping me around. I just really have a hard time with the Melo- when it gets all outer limits crazy that you want to hit your computer screen, but hold back because you know you won't actually be able to do any damage. You really, really, and I mean REALLY, want to kill just about everyone that has anything to do with the paternal side... and I guess if you're into that kind of "feels" then this has it in spades.

No matter how many times I revisited this series, I just couldn't warm up to it. Even though it was done in the last couple years, it has the vibe of 2004 or 2008 drama with an uninteresting story.
On The Scholar Who Walks the Night Apr 25, 2016
Okay the wet noodle that was supposed to be a wood stick and some acting from the newbies that needed much more polishing around the edges is where I ended up around in the middle.... but I have to say that even as ridiculous as this show got, I was never on the verge of quitting it because, frankly, Lee Junki could sell coal to a diamond mine. An added benefit was Lee Soo Hyuk, who was all kinds of hotness in this series, could actually pass for a charismatic korean royal/noble. He wears the King's outfit well. I think it would nice to see him play a straight sageuk like 6FD. I think it would fit him.

Yoon Shi Yoon just returned from military service this past January. This wasn't as hyped as Yoo Sueng Ho or Song Joong Ki's return and they took a few months to figure things out but everyone was anticipating everyday. YSY's last project before going into the Marines was as a 2nd lead in a drama that wasn't that good for me. Prime Minister was okay for a one time watch, but was lacking to me in many ways and I felt it was sad for YSY to finish with it. ...I've been anticipating his return because I really enjoy his acting. I will be honest, I have been disappointed by YSH's choices upon his return. I hope I don't end up feeling the same way about YSY. From everyone's comments about the age gap, if it is a true romance with an underage girl, regardless of skinship, I hope it doesn't damage his image. I want the cute YSY back like before.

Watching the BTS was so revealing. If you go back from the start, how many people posted comments here about how SongSong, at the Press Conf, were so distant and not into each other... and then people said that they had absolutely no chemistry and only the 2nd couple were giving the vibe.... and then you see all the BTS of SongSong and they were attached at the hip and busting each other up over and over and couldn't stop laughing together constantly. Skinship with easy... kissing each other over 100x on the tower to get every angle right and then DoTS doesn't even show the close up footage in the actual drama. [this fist bumps at the HK press conf...] lol... Naw... There was loads of chemistry between these two... I heard they spent time together going out to dinner in NYC after the show finished. I mean, what is that? At a minimum these two, irl, are very close friends with mutual friends within their inner circle. I think they really enjoyed their time doing this drama and this show went from ratings of 12.6% to 35.3%. I don't think we've seen ratings like that recently since You From Another Star. This show definitely boosted SJK & SHK's star power by a mile. The OTS is all over the place and not only is it all over the place in South Korea, but you still see regular newspaper stories coming out about this shows popularity internationally. I don't think I ever recall that kind of international attention with s K-Drama. I think it may even bring a wider international audience to K-Dramas in the future as well.

So whether you liked it or not, that's fine... but as far as Ent Industry goes, this was a huge success for everyone involved. I'm certain they will earn many rewards.

Okay... saw the close up kiss that was edited out of the series. Daebak. From how much SHK made SJK rofl and get shy and childish...it's just dang interesting. They obviously have boatloads of chemistry. The JG & KJW were said to have more chemistry etc. than the main... but at the end when they finally show skinship, for me, it was just very awkward.
