Why do they always have people running out in the middle of the street like fools almost getting hit. I just don't get that... I mean, yeah, dramatic effect but is that the only way you can convey anxiousness?
after looking at the clips from the show I am feeling the chemistry already. krw and psh are too cute together.
I watched this video of them taking still shots for the show and holy moly, KRW is just absolutely enjoying every moment of this. The production is all up in their face but he is not hesitant to give off any and all skinship he can get away with... I start to get a bit cringed out feeling like I'm invading the privacy of a young couple... and that's EXACTLY the vibe this show wants to give off. KRW wants all those "Darling Couple" shippers to find a rival here and wonder if their ship docked. For his & her career and ratings potential, that's a pretty smart idea:
okay, the "making film" trailer was just... if I was LJS, and it was true she was my g/f, I'd be a bit worried. You can **feel** the **tension** between them. She's trying very hard to be casual & professional, but it is totally obvious that KRW has the hots for her and is having a hard time keeping it in. ...you know the feeling when a really good looking dude is checking you out and you "know" he wants you, and it kinda gives you the butterflies, but you don't know enough about him to flirt back at him... that's the vibe I'm getting. She's "bothered" by him, in a good way... and the more it goes on, the more shy and girlie she starts to become. She's not really sure what to do with herself, which makes me feel like, she's not beyond developing an attachment to him over the course of this drama...
....If anything else, they will surely display really charming chemistry.... I see a storm brewing for all the "Darling Couple" shippers out there....
I'm just really amazed because PSH & KRW are so awkward with each other at first. They look like the 1st reading was their first real encounter... as the reading goes on you can see KRW body language change and he's becomes impressed with her acting skills... and just like in the filming.. the more it goes on, the more comfortable he gets, the more he just seems very flirtatious to PSH. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but my experience with PSH is that she's not really good at display affectionate emotions to her partner in a drama. Don't hate on me all you PSH lovers, I'm not saying she's a bad actress. She's not... it's just that she's never giving off a "I'm in love with you" vibe in her romantic dramas. She's weak on that and it was one of the reasons the whole "Darling Couple" became such a huge thing because, in Pinocchio, it was the 1st time she gave a real kiss that seemed to have emotion and the rumors sparked from there. ...KRW/PSH haven't kissed, yet afaik, but I get a real emotional vibe from them... maybe she just needed a more mature "adult" dude to bring it out of her. Frankly, at first sight, the idea of PSH/KRW being an OTP is like, "WTH are you talking about?? Isn't he a little to old for her???" ..but somehow, here, when you actually see it with your own eyes, it works:
Being currently single, if a dude proposed a 3 month relationship like that, "hot & steamy", and looked like Woo Bin, I don't think I could actually say, "no thank you..." lol....
subs were fairly crappy... it was a feel good movie... I enjoyed Yoo Ah In & Kang Ha Neul, although Ah In ssi's part had a few really cringe-worthy moments. Ha Neul ssi is just really the best when it comes to the *feels* dept. He can bring a tear no matter what the plot.
Yeah, based on some recently subbed movie releases, I suspect all these Japanese movies and live manga adaptations to take 6-9 months from movie premiere to see online subbed version. That's okay, it'll give me an excuse to re-watch the 2 episode TV special that was cute enough on its own. ;)
For God's sake, is Lee Joon Gi the ONLY actor who can star in historical dramas in Korea? He is boring, it would…
I'm sorry, I honestly I do not seriously give a fucking shit if LJK is the lead or not. That wasn't the point of my comment. You just seem to wanna go on a rant about him for some reason that *swoosh* everything I wrote went right over your head like a fighter jet.
You said that KHN would be great as the 4th prince because he's "good looking", no? Am I supposed to take you seriously after that kind of statement about what constitutes "good acting" for a role?
My point was, for this particular drama, based on the original script, has 4th prince being a stoic, mean, unemotional, boring guy who usurps the throne and treats his brothers like shit. I don't think "good looking" was the qualification for the role.
8th prince is good looking, adored, kindhearted guy who Ruo Xi falls in love with first. His character is every part the "good looking" guy role.
...so, AGAIN, read SLOOOOWWWWLLLYYY, so the jet plane doesn't fly over your head again.... my point was that KHN doesn't FIT the profile of the 4th prince but EXACTLY the ROLE he has SIGNED UP FOR... ...get it????....

Ahhh... your statement completely contradicts the characters as they are supposed to be represented. If you find LJK "boring" and KHN good looking then they fit EXACTLY the roles they are supposed to be playing.
For those who don't know Chinese history of the Qing Dynasty: The 4th prince, Yinzhen [eventually Yongzheng Emperor] was a rigid, despotic, & efficient leader. He used military to gain control and was a tight wade. Look at how Nicky played the 4th prince in the original. Ruo Xi refers to him as "straight face" because he shows no emotions whatsoever. 8th prince is good looking, charismatic, kindhearted, liked by many of his brothers & officials, and a following that wants him to replace the original Crown Prince and supported him to that end. He was a great socialite well liked by many.
...so how you think that Kang Ha Neul would play a better 4th prince just because he "looks amazing" is beyond my thought process.... ...actually, it's fanbase remarks like this, where everyone talks about "eye candy" that, for me IN MY OPINION, ruins a LOT of dramas. I'll take better acting, better production, better directors who know what roles the actors they are hiring will better play, than worrying about how good looking everyone is....
What's up with the gross age gap? I noticed it's the trend now in Korea. There are plenty of talented young male…
Wait? Are you shitting me? The original from China's Hunan TV was completed in 2011. The original leads were Nicky Wu who is 45, and Liu Shishi who is 29. That's a 16 year age gap for the original version that took place 5 years ago. ....and BTW, that's the show where Cecilia & Nicky met, fell in love, and got married to each other in 2015 in Bali. So, uh... it's not a NEW trend in Korea... it's part of the dynamic of the show actually.
Cast is bae. Storyline sounds like fanservice... I'm a bit trepidatious about this writer. She's never really written anything but drama specials... and hasn't had anything produced in 3 years. Having a pretty cast isn't enough, and the fact that it's more than 6 months from airing... *shudders*
