From what I have read, chapter one only, the drama follows the novel closely with some omission, sadly with novels transitioning to drama, sometimes it doesnt go so well as meanings, and nuances are lost, and it would seem this drama is one of them.

Oh totally I agree. Personally I think sometimes a novel works really well, when it gets translated into drama, a lot of meaning and nuances are lost.

I am usually polite ^_^ Do unto others 3 times when they do good things to do, ignore others when they do bad things, but this drama has taken a lot of my time and emotion, and it showed promise earlier on, but once Fu Rou was in the palace and it turned into a Game of Throne drama and a history play by play on the Tang dynasty I am like oh no, was hoping a change back to the beginning kind of comedic and style but nope wasnt going to happen.
This is my second drama with Li YiTong, and I wasnt impressed with Royal Nirvana (crown prince cries too much) I am prepared not to watch any of her dramas from now on, even though I adore her, her acting is spot on but her choice of characters leaves me with a bad taste. I was hoping that the comedic and funny first part would lift me out of my dark spot when I was watching Royal Nirvana, now, I feel like I am sent to an even darker place. (;ﾟ︵ﾟ;)
Others might like this drama, but I dont, I am not a masochist, I am a simple girl who wants to see love, romance, happy story and ending. Game of throne isnt for me.

You wont be able to see both of them spending any significant time any time soon, if I am not wrong, you might see that during the last episode - double wedding at the end. Well I wouldnt say forgettable I will always remember this as a promising drama then turned into a pile of horse manure, this stench wont be forgettable.

Yes, I like her in Royal Nirvana, even if I didnt like the drama, she at least knew her limits and worked with what she's got, here she barges through expecting things to change. There were a few misunderstanding but this one is over the top.

Consort Han wasnt given a name, but I know how you felt, her actions even though made Fu Rou go into the palace was due to her mother and herself concerned with ChuMu and no of her actions had any ulterior motives or was deliberately trying to cause harm to others. Fu Rou "good Samaritan" attitude causing more grief than anything else.
The happy ending is now not the reason I would continue on with the drama on now.
Watching 49-50 trailers now, Prince Liang is in prison and she goes visits him!! LIKE WHY?????? STOP being so nosey!!! She seems to think the world needs her to function.

All it takes is one good drama ^_^ should give him a go with Nirvana on Fire, that is what got my boyfriend hooked onto C-dramas
