There is no reason but the act of the scriptwriter, that is how the drama can last for 55 episodes. Maybe Chinese censorship as well, if I want to try and defend the scriptwriter, the convoluted story lines serves to confuse the censors so anything even a bad script can pass censorship.

Tempted to drop this, there is nothing going on for me to make me watch from 30 to 55, nothing can redeem this drama, not even the double wedding at the end. I might just watch 54 and 55, the last two episodes are usually the good ones.

I feel the same, the story is really bad, it is like a mini Game of Throne, the cast are doing a solid task of acting the characters they are in, probably the only thing that is carrying the drama

And the crown princess in between them ^_^ but it seems unlikely if they follow history where the crown prince gets exiled, but here's to hoping lol

Now that most people have reached close to two thirds of the drama, how do you now rate the drama? And why, please be objective and dont throw in something like 10/10 cause the couples are cute or I am shipping the crown prince and Fu Shui so it s 10/10, pleaaaseeeeee!

If they do, then the drama series wont be 55 episodes and would be only 24 episodes ^_^

Yes I understand her motives to try and save the brothers' relationship, but killing off the wife one one to save it is like you said, foolish and pitiful.

I dont know how you guys manage to go through translating the novel, since the novel explains a little more in detail as to the decisions of the characters that cant be really put in the drama. If it was me,
I would have dropped it, coming from a fansubbing group from a lot time ago ^_^

Same. This is why I stopped at episode 30, but I couldnt resist watching trailers or reading tidbits hoping something might give me the reason to continue before the series ends, but no, we get a waterdowned Chinese version of a Game of Throne.

Surprisingly, Lu Qi turns out for the better and marries Fu Yin. The crown princess on the other hand deserves Prince Zhou, both likes to scheme and use their position and status.

Could be a plottwist in which ChuJun lives. A body was placed in a coffin/box and what seem to be a dagger, no face was shown, then the scene switched to crown princess and Fu Shui talking about how someone was caught stealing things and went to ChuJun with news about how the crown princess framed consort Han with the death of Ling Wei.
