Lol like I said previously on another post, it was fine and interesting then all of a sudden the direction changed where we got a history lesson of the Tang dynasty but at least it changed back around the episodes where you are at ^_^ I just hope it doesnt drag on in the next 20 episodes.

Did you try watching Qin dynasty Epic? It is very historical, surprisingly it was on my youtube recommendations and I quite enjoyed watching it.

Hengdian World Studios is like a Disneyland theme park but with ancient Chinese dynastic buildings as sets, fun fact the studio do not charge any fees on the filming but they make their earnings from hotels, restaurants, rental of equipment and costumes, and of course souvenirs.

If you are referring to the set location I wouldnt say it is reused since a lot of period drama are shot at the Hengdian World Studios, about 70% of filming production in China are shot there, the sets are permanent, if you referring to the costumes, I am not so sure and I dont think so.

Webnovels are actually novels that authors post online instead of the usual physical publishing companies. They can be through online publishing companies or through free ones. They also can be fanfiction but those are on the free ones. It costs too much to publish hard copies and also trying to obtain an editor for your work is very hard unless you have strong connections in the publishing industry or a well known author, so a lot of authors publish their works as webnovels, it is cheap and without the hassle of deadlines. Once the work is famous or popular enough, they usually get printed on hardcopy, but that depends on the author. Well known webnovels are Battle through the Heaven (Fight Break Sphere), The Lost Tomb, Fighter of the Destiny, Doulou continent and you might know the Untamed. Evernight, Martial Universe as well as the Novoland series :D

Oh I meant Nirvana in Fire 2 lol I havent watched Wolf yet, been busy reading webnovels and donghua, there is a lot of drama I need to binge watch. Just that my mum dragged me into watching this.

I read somewhere on Baidu it was supposed to be 60 episodes then got cut down to 55. The beginning was good, funny lighthearted and lots of things going on, then around the 16th episode, things got darker, characters seemingly doing things out of characteristic, especially Fu Rou's brother and sister. It seem to me that the author who is also the screenwriter tried to bring out actual historical events into the story throughout the drama. Then we have a lot of things going on and I mean a lot, it was kind of overwhelming given that we saw less of the main leads together and we had the second main male lead spending more time with the main female lead. But around the 22nd episode things picked up again and became lighthearted and comedic with a touch of sadness here and there.
I dont see how Nirvana in Fire was hypersad, it was sad at the end, but then again I watched the cut part of the final episode where he actually is still alive and was with Fei Liu and Lin Chen, Nirvana in Fire on the other hand was super sad, but that is my personal opinion.
From teasers and what I have been reading on Baido and Weibo, this one will have a happy ending, but the journey will be long.

He felt bad for her since her she going to die within 3 years and wanted to extend her life not because of selfish reasons but because the empire just stablised and with her death the empire will be thrown into chaos again, so he threw the idea of Fu Rou being at her side would at least help in someway, also it is in a way to protect Fu Rou since she is being pursued by the two princes.

Well in actual history the crown prince is gay, and the drama is trying to convey that aspect without being too obvious about it so it can pass the censorship, like the Untamed.

Yes, I almost dropped it during Fu Yin's arc cause it went to serious and dark, glad it has the comedic and lightheartedness direction again.

Yes, the taoist was very funny and at least stood up to the pressure exerted by the emeritus emperor with a "I dont care for your holier-than-thou attitude" look. I think he felt really bad for the empress, since she wanted to live longer so the empire would not turn into chaos when she dies, so by having Fu Rou by her side might help her until then.

Finally the series has gone back to the lightheartedness of the beginning of the series, with a little of the seriousness, but less darkness at episode 25-26.
Smart of ChuMu to seek help and sabotaged Prince Zhou and Prince Liang's intention of marrying Fu Rou ^_^ Just hope Prince Liang will stay away from Fu Rou.

Just finished watching 25-26, much lighthearted episodes with a little bit of sadness, however Fu Rou dodged a bullet and is not going to marry either Prince Zhou or Prince Liang

Towards the end of episode 24

Thing is when they were children they were verbally betrothed (arranged marriage) to each other, so he took it rather seriously, even though it wasnt officially made between the Yan and Fu family, and yes it is one sided, Fu Rou from my interpretation viewed her as a brother and missed him after he was gone, and even when they met up again I didnt see her have any hint of romantic feelings for him the way she has for ChuMu

They were in their room at an inn and were discussing how it is their big day (being married) and how can they just eat Mantou (buns) ChuMu goes out to get some better food (dianxing) but before he leaves he asks her if she is truly sincere to him (AWwwwwww cute moment) and she replies of course, I wont spoil the rest, cause it is so blubbery cute moments. After which, Fu Rou goes out to return needles and weaving threads to the innkeeper and he wants her to mend other clothes when all of a sudden a large group of soldiers arrive......... This is related to the previous preview where ChuMu said he was one of the rebel's man. End of preview :D

What also sickens me is the emperor emeritus is catering to Prince Liang's need as well as Prince Liang's mother, sure during that time they believe servants were like ants and they can do away with whatever they want but given the Buddhist and Confician teachings at that time as well as the emperor emeritus actually fearinh emperor Li Simen and all of the emperor's brothers feared him it is kind of hard for me to see their behaviour like that
