When SG first came out, I also commented on the similarities it has with Kaiji and Tomodachi Game and received harsh attacks. I guess I went to the wrong platform, because on Reddit, there was a heavy discussion.

Season 1 is a complete work. It was not intended for multiple seasons, which explains the tight storytelling and well-executed plot. It's a result of work in progress since 2008. The story was well thought out, so there's no way 2 and 3 will surpass it.

But due to its success, Netflix decided to make another season, so we got 2 and 3. It's all about money.

They'll just relocate. they just blast the place but the people are still alive so the game will continue. Look at those VIPs,they find joy and entertainment with people killing each other so they don't mind throwing away money.

Well, Detective Hwang sucks, but to be fair with him, since day 1 Capt. Park was beside him, confusing and misguiding him, so there was no way he could find the island by himself. It's really thanks to Mr. Choi-who in just one day uncovered the real identity of Capt. Park and with that Detective Useles-- Hwang was able to save 246.

The director said SG was inspired by various sources, manga Kaiji included.

With many written works and many heads, it's not uncommon that there are similarities with different works.

Isn't inspiration the right term to use as he didn't copy the whole work? When does inspiration crossover to plagiarism?

I also disagree with that comment, but please do not lash out at Kaiji. Kaiji manga is famous internationally but the anime was so underrated.

333 became the unexpected villain. To think that I felt sorry and sympathize with him in s2. I was even worried about how the heck he would survive, but he turned out to be the worst. Atleast 124 was high on drugs when he went on a killer spree, but 333 was on his right mind and was determined to lessen the survivors for more money.

I'm sad all the favorites died early, but I kind of like how they got to that ending. I prefer them going off against random or trash players rather than them (222,120,149,388,456) betraying each other.

This season is better than the second, but still, s1 is the best.
And now I have another inspiration. Whenever I feel useless, I'll just have to think of Detective Hwang, and I'll be back on track again.

Same thoughts. Though they have more screen time, I don't think they underperformed 'coz why the effort? They are trash people btw. They disregard human lives and find entertainment in people getting killed, so I have a low expectation of them. To think that some people even said they should've got those A-listers Hollywood actors for VIPs as cameos, like what's the point dude.

Player 333 is the unexpected villain! Yim Si Wan is really a versatile actor. Who would have thought that that sweet and kind-looking face would do all those things?

All the favorites died too soon in earlier episodes. Player 120 is really a kind and selfless person. 007 is consistent-he's a disappointment from season 2 until his death in season 3. Soldier 11 is also a good and capable person (something to expect from a person who fled from the North). At least she managed to save 246, while detective Hwang, even at the last minute, did almost nothing.

Imo, I kind of like how they get there in the end. Instead of them betraying each other (120,222,388,007,149,246 and 456), I prefer that they get to play with random players for the final game. Being betrayed by a close friend is so cliché, though I hated that player 100 even reached the final game.

Player 456 is proof that humanity still exists. He couldn't stop the game, but somehow he showed to those VIPs that they should not toy with people's lives because they are also human. He stayed true to himself even in the end.

The end where the baby survived is the perfect ending. It's still innocent, didn't know what happened. If any player aside from the baby survived, they will never be the same again. After witnessing all that, they'll never know the word 'happy' again. They'll be haunted their whole life. This shows the difference between the two winners - 456-and the frontman. Gihun, after winning, felt haunted and guilty even with that large amount of money, so he decided to rejoin the game just to stop it. After the failed rebellion, realizing he couldn't stop it, he sacrificed his life to give those VIPs a lesson. The frontman, on the other hand, came to a different decision and that's to join those game masters.

LBH's role in this season is more of a guest. Park Hee Soon, another good actor. I like the fight between him and Soldier 11.
