This is very misleading. It shouldn't be listed at a prequel, but as a sequel. There are barely any flashbacks, most of the story takes place after the last episode of Romantic Doctor.
But anyway, I LOVED this episode. Omg it was just the ending that I needed and it definitely explained some things that were left unanswered, concerning our favorite characters! I still need a season 2, though. BADLY. Please please pleaseeeeee. I will miss them all so much!
I was so surprised to see this movie shown here in Germany! I am so tempted to watch, but I want to watch it in Korean. Have to see if I can find it with subtitles in a movie theatre.
Wow, this drama was definitely special. I really, really loved it. It's got such amazing characters, setting, music and writing. Even though the romance was subtle, it was chemistry loaded and very refreshing. The best thing about this, though, is the friendship and companionship that unites all these unique personalities. If I had to point out something, it would be that even though I enjoyed all the medical cases, 20 episodes would have been enough to go more into depth about the characters' pasts and circumstances. I think the medical aspect was too overwhelming at certain moments, and I wished to get to know the characters better. This ending scene definitely calls for a season 2, and I hope we will not get disappointed. I feel like even the romantic relationships need more development, and of course I am curious to see what happens to the hospital. Definitely a great show, and I hope if we get a season 2, it will be even greater. 8.5/10 (very close to a nine, though. Maybe I'll get swayed when I rewatch this. )
I still have one episode to go, but I have to comment now because I am feeling so many things at once and I cannot get over how much I love this drama! There are shows that are great because they have amazing actors, and good writing, superb directing, and all that, but they still don't feel 'right', there's something missing that makes them that tiny bit better than great. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo has everything, and you might argue that the plot isn't all that original. Despite that, what makes it stand out above the rest, is the FEELING. It just makes you feel so content. Like everything is possible, nobody has to hide or feel small because they aren't 'good' enough. Everyone grows at different speed. Everyone has their insecurities, their dreams and worries, and if you just hold on and listen to your heart, one day you will reach your goals and be content. It just gives you that little bit of happiness everyone needs in their lives. It's been a long time since I could watch a drama with such a big and dorky smile on my face. It really was just what I needed. I recommend everyone to watch it. It is simply heartwarming and beautiful.
Ahhhh, well, I guess if you compare it to the beginning, they get along better xD but not enough chemistry to call for bromance I think haha Ahh, we can hope though.
As someone who's fluent in German... the main theme of K2 has the most ridiculous lyrics of all time. They…
Can you even make out what the lyrics are? German is my mother tongue, but i cannot even understand half of it... Or maybe the grammar is just so bad that it's not possible to make much sense of it lol
Oh my God, only one more episode, I am so sad it is ending! Contrary to most other Korean dramas, it didn't lose impact along the way, and there were barely k-drama clichés. It's what makes this so refreshing. And of course it is super funny and just so CUTE, I cannot-- I usually cannot stand too much cheesiness, but it is done in such an adorable way here that I it's impossible not to love the lead couple. They really stole my heart. Ahhhhh, I am smiling so wide right now. Relationship goals, RIGHT THERE!
My thoughts are sort of all over the place. I didn't expect the movie to be THAT tragic. I know everyone has a different view on whether Hong Rim really loved the king or only acted out of loyalty. Here are my thoughts:
I think Hong Rim truly did love the king, not only as a friend or family, but also romantically. However, once he sleeps with the queen, he starts to lust for a woman's touch he has never felt before. In the bed scenes between him and the queen, I never felt any true affection, only passion and lust. When he realizes that the king found out about their affair, he immediately tells the queen to stop seeing him. He doesn't want to leave the palace. Clearly, he does not love her enough to throw away his life for her. He says he is afraid. Afraid of dying? He repeatedly jumps in to save the King, regardless of his life being in danger. So, he is afraid of losing the king's love.
Some may ask: So why does he always ask for the queen and look for her after he finds out she is pregnant?
My theory is that he truly wanted her to bear his child. In the beginning when the king answers that the reason why he chose Hong to be the queen's bed partner is so that the child would resemble Hong, he seems very happy. Later, when the queen is afraid the king won't accept the child, he tells her not to worry: He is sure the king would take the child in, because it is his own, Hong's, child. So the queen should bear the child for the King's sake. Of course I also think that Hong feels sympathy for the queen. He seduced her, which ruined her life. This is also why he lies about loving the queen. He is afraid the king would punish her and the unborn child, so he takes the blame by claiming to love her.
Even though there are many, the greatest indicator for Hong's love is the final scene. Even though he lies about not loving the king, he does so because he knows he is going to die. If the king knew he did love him, but killed him with his own hands, he would probably feel more regret. But then again, he doesn't want to die alone, but to be reunited in afterlife, so he takes the King's life as well. Hong was always a rather selfish character after all. Whom he truly loved becomes apparent in the end when the Queen gets dragged away. Instead of looking after her, he musters up his entire strength to turn around and have his final view to be the king. Regardless of whether he was originally gay or only followed the king to his bedchamber, there is no question that he loved him more than anyone.
It is a truly tragic story...
I think that the reason why Hong Lim lied about not loving the King was to piss him off and kill him. I think…
@Feli: He tries to avoid being alone because he is guilty and has a bad conscience and is afraid to be discovered. I personally think he is bi-sexual, if you have to label his sexuality at all, and him being with a woman for the first time really spikes his lust, but the person he truly loves is the king.
i felt soo bad for the king, that bitch ruined everything
I actually interpret it differently. I do agree that the king was the one who basically brought ruin upon everyone, but the Queen and Hong Rim committed High Treason before that. Not only that, it was the two in the world he trusted and loved the most, the only people he thought to be on his side, and after he forgives them once, they stab him in the back again. He is the king of a country, and they make a fool of him.
Also, I believe that Hong Rim truly loved the king and really only felt lust for the Queen, and maybe something like sympathy. It becomes apparent in the end when the Queen gets dragged away and instead of looking after her, he musters up his entire strength to turn around and have his final view to be the king. It is somewhat messed up, but I believe he told the king the lie he did, because he knew he was going to die, and if the King knew the truth, he would feel regret. I am not sure why he did kill the king, but Hong Rim was always a very selfish character, so maybe he did not want to die without the person he loved. Well, this is just my theory, but everything I saw in the movie points to this conclusion.
Okay, so this drama is cute. And cheesy. Very, very cheesy. I really liked the slow development of their relationship. There's something about a romance that unfolds naturally (well, as naturally as possible with their kind of arrangement at first xD), and I loved that there is no unnecessary drama at all. Then again, at some point I just wish there was SOMETHING else there to make me more invested. I am not sure what it was, but near the middle up until the very end, it became really draggy. There was no spark anymore, and even though it was sweet, it didn't make my heart skip a beat, and even though the sad scenes were meant to be sad, I couldn't feel a rush of emotions. I think the script and directing in the latter episodes fell flat. Unfortunately it ended up being not a very remarkable drama. It's lovely if you just want some lovey-dovey scenes, but doesn't amount to more. 6.5/10 from me
(I do have to say though: THANK GOD they didn't make the cousin into an asshole. For once in k-drama land! Thank you, writers!)
So, this is somewhat bad. I don't even know why I am watching this, it doesn't even make sense half the time. Lee Won Geun is the only good thing about this drama.
So far I'm on episode 2 and already in love with the male lead but I don't like how the female lead is always…
Same here, omg, she is so annoying. It makes it so hard to take her seriously and enjoy the show. It's not even FUNNY, she's just borderline hysterical -.-
Hwang Jung Eum as the leading lady was the worst choice for this drama. I am CRINGING. Now, the way Oh Ri Jin's character was formed is already annoying enough, if you add HJE's high-pitched, hysterical voice to it it becomes almost unbearable. I watched it about a year ago and wanted to rewatch it now, but I almost cannot make it past episode 2. I now remember why I gave this show a lower score than i thought it deserved: Very very annoying lead actress. *shivers*
I really cannot stand Han Ga In in this role. Her voice is emotionless and monotone, it's like: does she even have feelings?? Such a pity, Kim Soo Hyun as King is fantastic, but his scenes with her are so boring, it's like he's talking to a wall -.-
Wow, I was so sure Another Miss Oh would be awarded something, when I was in Korea this summer I heard it was a huge hit, even one of my guy friends said it was one of the best dramas he had seen in forever and it made him teary eyed. Or is TvN not included in the cable channels? I don't know much about the TV channels.. Anyway, I haven't seen much, only DOTS, Doctors (or like.. half), Age of Youth (AMAZING drama!) and Marriage Contract.
But anyway, I LOVED this episode. Omg it was just the ending that I needed and it definitely explained some things that were left unanswered, concerning our favorite characters! I still need a season 2, though. BADLY. Please please pleaseeeeee. I will miss them all so much!
