I thoroughly enjoy the action here. I love how much gore and grit and brutality are displayed, as well as the development of some characters, notably Nyeon Yi. However, i'd rather there was no romance at all, cuz FL's acting is so bland and her expressions are overly recycled, and her character lacking depth only helps to make it worse. Watching her felt like a chore to me, significantly reducing my enjoyment for the show.
The whole structure up to ep 8 maybe 10, was just great! The tense, the characters introduction and build up,…
Appreciate your perspective. I finished it some time ago so i forgot most of the details. Regarding ML i totally agree with you, as your comment pretty much sums up ML's catchphrases lol. But in terms of the absence i wouldn't call it "breakup". After all FL was once in love with the other guy, and she needs time to get over him as well as to think over things. Jumping into another relationship right away would likely make ML a rebound, instead of a real romantic commitment.
Ah my definition of ML is the main love interest, so we're on the same page. They all got me so invested (and confused). CX's arc is more layered indeed, but his character writing is a tad bit problematic, and Zhang Wan Yi's acting is good but not consistently good at times, so he's never been my pick for ML. I might change my mind later though.
merely because there's a mutually consented kiss. I dove into this without any prior knowledge or research. I wasn't clear before because all of the suitors has either betrayed or tortured her at some point, and i sort of expected a potential twist ahead, so to brace myself for heart-break i had never whole-heartedly rooted for a particular guy. Not to mention there's that ambiguity that FL has as she vibes with all of them, caring for them almost equally, having chemistry with all of them, and never showing special treatment towards the ML Jing, whom I thought would be friend-zoned eventually lol.
