Wei Yan was stabbed by a person dressed as the Guard of ML. Plus Shrimp's last words were that Yan's guards (bcoz of the dress) were trying to kill them. Then to divert the arrow of Lin Kui, ML shot the arrow which hit the FL. When she woke up, she saw no one (ML, Kang Ju and other Yan's guard missing) on the scenes. Just the dead bodies. So after hearing Shrimp's words and seeing the arrow shot, she was devastated. But if u hear her words, it was 'I will make you give me an explanation'. So despite seeing and hearing what she saw, she sort of had some hopes and wanted to find ML to see him explain (if you find the one who was blamed and who shot missing from the scene and nowhere to be found, there are gonna be questions) Watch ep 21. Sort of True. I mean as a viewer, I don't even expect him to change completely. After all this revenge has kept him alive. He cannot let go of that, at least not when he is at the end of his life (as per him). But that's the thing which also hindered the communication between them. Both sort of understood the pain and nature of each other. As KJ had said earlier that YZJ protected DW in the only way he knew. That's what he is doing now too by letting her hate him! So am not saying I would have wanted him to give up revenge. Even DW was helping him seek revenge. (It involved her parents too). But the thing is, she considered him family now! So, to make her feel the betrayal is injustice to her. It just seems he is letting go of the present for the things that he fears! I think this journey is what will help them grow together as a couple. Also without this betrayal, there would be no Su MuZhe as well!

I mean they are gonna get in each other's way bcoz their own own goals but the plot will still proceed for them. For FL, it should mean establishing the business, and for ML it should mean his revenge. So despite misunderstanding, FL isn't gonna try to get revenge on ML out of hatred.

That 'chief' was actually member of Cui family but was driven out of the family (sort of exile). But was controlling the mines. She wanted to take that control to make money to compensate the court and others bcoz of pearl tribute case. Else Cui family would go bankrupt.
When they were returning from mines, it was just 3 of them. The other men(guards) were already killed. Plus no money bcoz the mjnes situation now turned into a case with govt. As for abduction, since they were on way to Yangzhou with no protection, no separate carriage, they probably got tackled and with no manpower, fell into the hands of traffickers just like Yue Yun Xiu was kidnapped and was about to be sold but Duanwu saved her. U didn't miss a scene in this case. But this seems implied given they also showed abduction of Yunxiu. Plus on that cart, besides these 3 women, there were other women tied to and were bound to be sold. I mean traffickers are obviously not gonna take her words seriously that she is a Lady and all with her Haggard look and no money on her situation
