YU makes his character so believable. They will go for the "I'm-only-gay-for-you" cliché, but I buy it. You can…
If they mantain this quality and consistency and then also do a high quality season 2 like this, it will also become my favorite I've watched so far. Even with the played out "only gay for you" trope (or it could also be, first time I'm attracted to a man) and university setting, this series so far has everything I ever wanted and needed in a BL.
Is no one going to talk about how the doctor moved the chair from under Shu Yi's twisted ankle, sat in it and…
At first I was hating the doctor, but then I felt that he was doing this to cause a reaction in Shu Yi and to try to make things happen between Shu Yi and Shi De because I think he's tired of seeing Shi De always longing for Shu Yi from a distance without getting anything in return lol He really got the ball rolling because none of these 2 idiots in love would even confront their feelings or make a move if someone hadn't stirred things up lol
For me the first one still is the best with Yu's flair for drama in full display, but this one is also gr8 in…
I think there are small clues that date to at least episode 2 that Shu Yi was already feeling some type of attraction for Shi De even if not knowing exactly what it was. And I agree with you, everything is so natural that even with the quick progression it all feels so organic and no cringe of second hand embarrassment. Not only the acting is good but their chemistry is off the charts. Everything has been so well done and consistent so far, I'm very pleased. I'm still very surprised that this is Yu's first acting role. He's so natural and displays such range of emotions and with such perfect timing. And Sam and his microexpressions and longing gazes at Shu Yi are just chief kiss. Plus the other characters complement the series so well with their comedy/funny moments. I'm so in love with this series.
Listen if I was Leo, I would have slap Fiat so hard he would have disrupted the space time continum. Super fans…
Not only does this plot (only 2 or 3 episodes of actual plot happening int he midst of episodes of filler) makes zero sense, but I never expected to say that I don't think these 2 should marry given the lack of trust in each other 7 years later. And I loved them in s1, cried in the last episode when they got back together and I felt that we had plausible excuses for their lack of maturity. And no, this is not an interesting and mature plot of 2 adults in a long term relationship with their ups and downs like many people love to defend. Sure, couples argue and have issues even many years down the line, but this is straight up clownery from the mind of the "rape and dubious consent obsessed" (as you said) Mame. Mature and plausible plots of adults in long term relationships that are still interesting and exciting are possible (Love Life on The Line) but this...
First we have Tharn conspiring with Techno to make Type jealous of a woman (!!!!!!) and this worked. Type was furious and came to the girl to assert his territory. Then the circus continues with the whole Fiat Type kiss. But I could have excused Tharn's trust issues with a "oh, they are flawed characters who still need to mature and grow together" had not Mame think that it would be romantic to pull a Lhong v2 (lazy repetition of the tropes of s1) secret conspiracy from Type all over again and to kidnap Fiat to force him to be with Leo as if that would solve their trust issues. And I'm not even going to rant anymore about how they dumbed down and diminished Tharn, turning him into a shadow of himself that is not coherent with his s1 self. Bravo, Mame.
But I could go along with this clownery script full of filler and non sense had the execution been good, But no, directing and editing botched with weird camera angles and transitions, weird color correction, cheap looking settings, awful wardrobe and makeup, awkward dialogues, weird pacing and lack of chemistry from some of the secondary couples they tried to shove down our throats.
Mew and Gulf are amazing actors, but it's as if Mame and the director sat together to plan how to sabotage them. I wonder where the big Hirablue investment went because I'm not seeing any of it.
I'm ranting because even with all the ups and downs and imperfections, I loved season 1. TeeSinta was such a good director and everything from the dialogues to the plot itself seemed much more natural and organic. And season.1 was fully independent with no sponsors or big investments, just out of the love and dedication of the people involved, and it showed.
I am watching The Untamed, and I was able to "sense" two main characters are in love, even everything was "censored".…
Exactly. It's all about the body language and acting. We don't need to have characters repeating every 5 seconds that they're boyfriends just for us to believe they're not just close bros (based on their body language)... more showing and less telling.
Honestly people need to realize that bl series are a lot more than sex scenes and skinship. Literally just the…
But the actors still need to convey they're romantically (and physically) attracted through their body language (even if not kissing) and not just verbally. We need to believe through the way they look at each other and body language that they're not just close bros.
While I agree that there doesn't need to be a bunch of skinship, there should be some romantic tension that convinces…
Take a look of The Untamed, even with the censorship and with no skinship we could still see that they loved each other romantically and there was tension and chemistry. It's all about the chemistry and body language. If it's BL I don't want to see the boyfriends/love interests having "bro body language", sleeping 2m apart on the bed or awkwardly touching each other (if ever). I want to believe they're romantically (and this often includes physically too) attracted to each other. This can be done through subtle things that might not even involve kissing (though a gay couple kissing doesn't turn a relationship worse or better, because in this house we don't treat queer intimacy differently than we treat the straight one and we expect the same). The issue in 2gether was that after getting together in a relationship and even living together, I couldn't believe those 2 were physically attracted to each other or even romantically if they didn't see it verbally all the time. I might even add that they had more chemistry and sexual/romantic tension when it was just "fake boyfriends and purely platonically" than when they got together. And that was the issue for me. Chemistry and intimacy can make or break series that has focus on romantic relationships (which is the case of most BL).
I don't know. I didn't vibe with this as much as others did. I think the origal plot was such an interesting take…
Same. It was fine but I didn't feel the magic or the chemistry. The premise is very interesting and has huge potential for a long length series, but I felt that the execution was just alright. I didn't feel the same magic, chemistry, exceptional acting and perfect pacing that I felt on WYEL.
I've noticed that Korean BLs don't market the ML ships. I see the MLs in interviews together but that's it, I…
And it's better this way so that they can move on to other series and do different projects and challenge themselves without immature fans having meltdowns. However I think I prefer Taiwan's way, which is somewhere in the middle between the Korean and the Thai way. Meaning they'll do some fanservice but not too much and they don't hide their real life relationships nor anything and people know they're just actors acting and promoting the series, and sometimes they become good friends with their colleagues and everyone respects that. Then they move on to other acting works. There are no "dinosaur ships" I think haha
It was a cute, but I didn't feel the magic or chemistry of the couple. I think maybe in a longer series to dive deeper on the characters and their back story and the mystery of the mother it would be amazing. I didn't dislike it, it just didn't blow me away. Maybe eventually one day they can explore this story in a longer series.
Thought the kissing part was Gao Shi De giving him air. Ive seen a video once that that's one way to transfer…
I think that Shi De gave the excuse of the kiss being to make him come to the surface, as to startle him into coming to the surface because he was worried he wouldn't.
You can find them all on Kissasian.sh with high quality and good subs both download and online. You can pretty…
In that case it's ok to watch by other mediums. I watched cherry magic on wetv by using fly vpn (for free) and setting it to thailand, but I know this sometimes doesn't work or ends up being too complicated. But for anyone else who has access to wetv, it's better to watch there.
It's a testament to their chemistry and to the script that a scene of Shu Yi saying they're friends and then both sharing instant noodles while playing paper scisors made me so emotional. They live on my mind rent free, help.
