You are very much right about this, but I think the main reason why people dont respect or have a problem with…
Exactly. It was realistic and a probable reality in our world. The writer went with depicting a probable reality (her choosing to be with him) and not another probable and healthy reality (her moving on). Depicting reality without sugar coating it with character development (which doesn't happen in every relationship) to make it seem more healthy is a realistic approach to relationships and their dynamics. We have seen the dynamic of healthy relationship time and time again in fiction but this writer chose to depict another reality. Now people who seem to resonate with or understand this depiction and dynamic of a relationship are in no way people who should be bullied or labelled something negative for having a preference. Not everyone has the same moral values and not everyone likes every fiction to be morally acceptable according to general moral values and healthy (which is another reality people love).
All i am saying is people who don't have a problem with this fictional depiction of relationships are still valid in their own right and shouldn't be called stupid or a problem when we can disagree or argue against it (with valid points and not abuse). They can have an opinion and i see no problem with with them expressing it.
If people that liked this drama is problematic then the whole world that rooted for and loved Chuck and Blair…
Exactly. Have your own opinion but have the character to respect other people's freedom to have their own. I actually agree with the original comment on the fact that this was toxic and boring (according to my moral values and taste) but what i don't agree with is the fact that people are being called a 'problem' for having different moral values and preferences (values and preferences that doesn't harm others and isn't a crime) for fictional characters.
Okay so i would agree with most of criticism here (the lazy plot, the boring characters, the toxic relationship and lack of character development) but what i don't understand is people bashing others for having a positive opinion and a preference for the FICTIONAL RELATIONSHIP. Some are calling them stupid while others are labeling them as a problem to society! The last time i checked, people can have an opinion about fiction (which harms no one and doesn't lessen the weight of the genuine criticism) without having to be shunned down for it. If we are talking about toxicity, "IONTBO", "Hyena", "Sky Castle", "Hotel Del Luna" and many more had toxicity filled to the brim but people still loved all those (i do too, atleast most of them) and never were bashed for loving it. Just because the male lead is considered more toxic in this one and not the FL (unlike in the above mentioned dramas especially IONTBO and Hyena where the FLs were toxic in their romance and committed several genuine crimes along the way), it shouldn't be a reason to shut people from having a positive opinion about this. Let people have their own preferences and know that their opinions are towards fiction which has no effect or demage to your reality or opinion. I would have liked this (I'm rating this a 5/10) show if NB had character development and set herself free from JE but i still respect the freedom of people having different opinions even if i don't agree with the opinions. That's what I think about this whole scenario anyway.
I knew it! They couldn't have possibly pulled back in 3 episodes. In fact, they did nothing with the 3 episodes.…
While i agree that this was boring af and the main characters were weak with no development, "Love Alarm" was horrendous in its own way. People don't and shouldn't question their morality for understanding a fictional relationship of two fictional characters. Supporting or understanding a relationship, which may be considered toxic, in fiction requires no accountability or responsibility. Their support towards this relationship isn't harming anyone. Before labelling a debate, about fiction, as stupid and immoral learn that morality is relativistic and stupidity is calling someone stupid for having an opinion.
Well i watched the first 7-8 episodes and it was surprisingly laid back in reality with the gaming aspect and didn't unnecessarily exaggerate things (my brother is a professional gamer and i saw so many parallels between them). I couldn't continue because the plot was lacking elements of surprise, interesting enough subject and an overall had one dimensional characters. The actress didn't help either because i couldn't differentiate her sad, angry or any emotion most of the time from her normal expressions. Anyway I'll give it another try since so many people are talking positively about it.
People like GO don't now their places, they drag other with them because of their poor judgment, lack of understanding,…
Okay, calm down :) I feel the same but then again KYH was big enough to forgive him and i think that's the charm of KYH's character; can hold a grudge (which will result is something very bad for the opposite party) but at the same time is big enough to forgive people despite messing up so badly.
I know SA was a total psyco and a murderer but when she shot herself and still looked at KYH with eyes filled with regret while reminiscing old memories of him in their childhood made me really feel bad for her. They say when a person is dying, memories and faces of loved ones flashes through mind and hers was KYH. Call it love or whatever, she had some sort of heavy feelings towards him and he never cared (for obvious and understandable reasons) which always pushed her to cross lines she didn't know she could. It was a phenomenal ride. The writing in last episode made me feel bad for people i hated to the bone in episode 15.
Wow! I know it wasn't an ending completely along the lines of totality of believability but it was so damn satisfactory. The hero presumably dying in a bomb blast while saving the whole country from going into its own demise but we see him alive and happy at the end reminds me of "The dark knight rises". Say what you will about the plot and some characters (and i will agree with most of criticism too) but KYH is one of the best characters i have seen in 2021. His heartbreaking backstory, his ambiguous morals, his motivations, his will to protect people that he loves and his overall arc was a so damn well written. Ji Sung helped me believe and sympathise with his character even when i didn't agree with everything he did. You understand and sympathise with KYH because of the incredible acting of Ji Sung and his well written character.
"I saw the news" "you did?" "Are you okay?" "Are you worrying about me?" "Don't even think about it. If you end up in jail, this house will be mine." "It's been yours from the start" "What about GO, GO won't come anymore right? I knew he would return to his own home, it's always been just the two of us"
Damn it! Just let those two be a family at the end. I'm not a fan of unrealistic happy endings but just this once am i hoping for it. They both deserve so much (especially KYH) after going through hell and fire their whole life. I would like to see a hopeful ending rather than a realistic one this time.
The preeminent performances of Ji Sung as 'KYH' and Baek Hyun Jin as 'the president' are a chef's kiss. The layers of emotions in their expressions and the blatant portrayal of such characters with ease and honesty is always commendable in an actor. Kim Min Jung is the finest actress to portray the annoying and unbearable 'JSA' with such accuracy and her expressions just breeds negative feelings in the viewers. This drama tops my list when it comes to acting performances of the actors [KYH (or more accurately Ji Sung), BHJ and KMJ].
Ga On is at the beginning of his professional career. He was thrown into a herd of vipers, they bitten him, destroyed…
Yes they used him and destroyed everything he held dear. His weakness and stupidity helped the cause of his demise. I think the lesson of the plot is clear at this point. In order to survive in that world of corruption, death and evil, one has to learn and abandon normal world's (our world) morals and values. KYH was forced to be what he is by his father and people in the position of power. He sacrificed his everything (morals, peaceful life, his relationships and much more) in order to bring those people's real motivations and goals in front of the public. The difference is KYH knew exactly when to decide and acted on what he believed without people telling him so, unlike KGO. We have one episode remaining and i doubt we will see a convincing and genuine transition of KGO (if he's really capable of it, which i doubt too because he simply is too stupid).
The viewers of this show are very annoying, they do not seem to understand any of the characters at all despite…
If you'd have actually put an effort to read the comments, you'd know that most of them are based upon the truths and observations of the characters. Being open minded and being judgemental when the plot requires us to be are two different things. Having hopes till episode 13 for KGO was us being open minded but criticising him with logical and factual arguments after he destroyed everything with his stupidity and hypocrisy is us fulfilling the necessity of being judgemental after understandings everything about him. It's not like people don't understand the characters but the characters are too messed up to not judge. In order to judge, one has to risk the effort of understanding the characters and i think people did understand first and then judged or more accurately provided explanations as to why the characters were weak, inconsistent and too stupid to actually support the plot of the drama.
What can he do? The guy can't even think on his own and i doubt he can go against the political and judicial system…
Yes the Donkey was but what I'm saying is if you take that character and stuff it in a story with Bruce Wayne as the main lead, it wouldn't make sense. GO character is too weak, indecisive and stupid to survive in that world and actually become a judge. The world where KYH lives is a world that has no possibility of having someone like KGO in the position of power. These characters seems like they aren't from the same world.
