Shitz, am sad after reading some of the comments and reviews, it looks like this fell under the category of ‘as the C-drama progresses, it becomes weirder and eventually ends ridiculously’…. SIGHS… I watched the first 8 episodes when it started airing and then paused to wait for it to finish coz I actually thought it was pretty good and refreshing.
Going to continue watching as I still have a glimmer of hope… 😝 and drop it if it really gets too ridiculous….
Edit: I completed it… though now I can understand why some comments are on the extreme end of disliking it. I loved the cases in the sense that I personally found them very realistic and relatable to modern Asian societies… some of them are more specific to Mainland and some are more general…. A lot of them depict issues and things we’ve either seen, heard of or faced it ourselves…
The downside is related to the outcome of some cases, which were at times literally infuriating….. like you literally feel rage boiling inside you… lol, as much as it’s just a TV drama… so this bit is likely related to censorship i.e the messages that they want to send in light of Mainland’s current social issues, specifically it’s an obvious bias towards old folks and parents; filial piety. In this sense, is where I’m not so sure it’s realistic… to me it felt kinda unrealistic but it’s also difficult to predict wot a person would do…. It is true that each individual could make very different decisions, leading to very different outcomes. I spse this is why the comments below+reviews up there are also pretty polarising. But overall there were no weird edits or uneven pacing…. Also, no randomness etc. So I found the series pretty consistent throughout. I actually really enjoyed it albeit the disappointment in some of the outcomes of the cases… Defo made the whole series appear too ‘forced’/scripted/unnatural…
He looks almost exactly the same to when he was young… like in Autumn’s Tale. It’s like more than 2 decades ago… It’s crazy… they should study his DNA for youth and ageing.
Glad they brought JB back and YX now has a whole plethora of sworn brothers; JB, SMY, and LGC. My girl SYN cut…
Loooolll. The whole slow pacing worked super well for this scene as well. Coz I was thinking, seriously….? She’s going to do it? Nooo… she won’t…. Yes…. She willl…. Woah…. She did! And then I went, ah… he’s now really a eunuch…. 😂
yes, it turned as a happy ending on the last 5seconds 😉
One or two a year sounds about right. I mean if you are talking about really good ones in a year. Yea, I noticed this CGI thing recently…. There is a trend of over reliance emerging….
No shade on Chen Xiao but I think the actor could have done at least as good a job, possibly better as Yun Xiang.
After 36 episodes, I came to realised…… his character as in the YX character is a very difficult one to pull off because of how it’s so multi-dimensional…. It’s not just being an awesome strategist and uber smart…. The novel/screenwriter also put in a lot of emotional bits….. and the emotional bits are not meant to be ‘straight-forward’. Love and the struggle with having no love etc. Towards the end esp after they revealed who the YunTai master is, I also questioned if Chen Xiao could pull it off….

LOL, ah I didn’t read the subtitles then. Was just focused on listening to wot she said. Wot a perfect noun to describe him!!
Yes, I really couldn’t put my finger to it…. Just he defo made a strong impression when he first appeared. Coz I was thinking, why does he have this weird vibe, coz if you look objectively at his face he really doesn’t look feminine at all. But just the way he carries himself, the way he walks, the way he speaks etc….. it was more of that I think.

Wasn’t so much that actually… was the way the thing was kinda…. Uh… sudden. 🤣 like how they very intentionally didn’t even give a shot/scene with both of them in-frame. It was so abrupt that I actually laughed when the closing credits rolled.

LOL! I was actually quite uh…. Taken aback. Coz I really felt it was a bit….. abrupt… 🤣 and I actually laughed when the credits rolled coz I didn’t notice the timer bar at the bottom.
I am about half way the 1st ep, does the ML know how to fight? I am not sure about watching a ML who doesn't know…
He doesn’t, it actually kinda suits him (as in Chen Xiao). He can’t but there are a lot of pretty good fight scenes throughout the drama. His character is a strategist…. Basically like ZhuGe Liang….

Lol. I loved her dialogue right before she did it, something like “it’s difficult to tell whether you are Yin or Yang on typical days anyways….” That is SOOOO true. 🤣🤣🤣 Lol, the first time the actor appeared in screen I was like…. He has an….. underlying feminine aura…. 🤔 sucha unique vibe….

Lol, have to say I was still shocked with that…. As much as it is typical for xianxias…. This was wuxia and I thought they’d give us like a minute…. Or maybe 5… lol… 🤣🤣🤣
