Unpopular view: I'm distracted by FL's face, I can't enjoy her acting because I keep thinking whether she has…
I actually don’t think she did though… I just think her “baby fat” is gone… it’s her cheeks….
BUT regardless… I actually find her more pleasant looking here….? Or like easy on the eye?
Like in Reunion she looked uhhh… kinda distracting… esp her hair there (didn’t do her any justice, looked like a wig) also, her voice has a sharp undertone to it. Like kinda ‘kiddie’ 🤔 (but I didn’t find her annoying coz she isn’t exactly the overly cute-sy kind, it’s mostly only her big round eyes)…
Baby Shark…. 🤣🤣🤣 put to use in the practical world. LOL!
Eccentric, weird but somehow pushes one to continue for casual watching…. Only complaint being… with an oddball series, it’s about how smoothly various extreme pieces comes together. i.e ultimately the “vibe” it gives viewers.
So, it’s still got kinks here and there but it’s wayyyy better than Salon de Nabi in that sense. So the kinks aren’t limited to a specific area, it’s sometimes the plot, chemistry, flow/pacing, comedy etc…
12-episodes was a wise decision, don’t think it should be any less BUT… as it progresses the series delves into more “serious”/emotional topics… I’m guessing to try give the plot more ‘depth’….? Some may view this as fillers due to the change in tone.
A good concept, solid premise…. but execution was hit-and-misses. Worth giving a try before deciding. The chemistry between the cast was inconsistent… the storyline wasn’t as smooth as I’d like it to be. The romance between the leads feels unnatural at times, for once I don’t think the main actress aced this role.
I watched it casually, fast-forwarding where I thought it was too strange or kinda off.
I'm wondering if i should watch season 2 after watching 1 now that 3 is here. Depends on how much romance. Why…
Espresso is too strong for most including myself. Cappuccino has too much milk… not everyone can take milk and it might be too filling to drink a few cups of it…. Hence…. Long black/Americano…. Think the analogy is like whisky. 1 shot of whisky vs. Whisky cocktail vs. Whisky soda (highball)/whisky on the rocks…
Yes, S2 is a must watch because S3 is literally the continuation of it.
Oh thanks for this, ah, I like her too! Chen Kun is the lead… interesting… 😏 I’ve never heard of it before, will bookmark it to watch. Wait…. Lol, will it pull a con on me and not show a drop of blood + 0 surgery scenes again?
Ah, I’ve watched the Korean one before. I think it’s literally called Hospital Ship. I found that pretty good.
Gosh…. This was so good, I clicked on play with no expectations given the details/summary above was a bunch of gibberish… Definitely at least a solid 8.5. It was a 9 for me because the smooth and satisfying ending caught me by surprise.
So sad that it didn’t gain much viewership/traction in Mainland as well. I wonder why… I spse the way the themes/genres were blended (Drama, Business, Romance, Mystery…..?) and written is kinda new/unexplored…. Also, probably the slow start deterred viewers…..? But by Episode 4 I was completely engrossed 😳… and it got more and more exciting which is kinda always a 50-50 chance with Mainland dramas…
The way it was written, the topics touched upon, and production quality is actually closer to modern K-dramas. It’s probably one of the most visually beautiful modern C-drama I’ve ever watched. The sets, colour grading , office workwear etc was wow…. Like everything was so sophisticated, refined whilst maintaining realism…. So much attention to detail albeit not high budget… except for one bit whereby they spelt ‘Waffle’ wrongly… 🤣 should also commend the cast and screenwriter for all the latent comedic moments. I did LOL! Truly requires some legit skills.
I never quite knew wot P.R companies/people did….. I had a vague idea, some general outline, but after this series like… oh wow. Ok. Their line of work is so…. Interesting… and it wouldn’t suit most people…. Coz the required skillset is so very ‘unique/specific’ considering it isn’t classified as a “professional”.
What’s up with Peng Guan Ying and all these jinxed ML characters he takes on….. I came here just to check…
Yeap. ☺️ Viewers would mostly remember his characters…. coz he was that good/intense in portraying them. 🤣 like for example I didn’t even watch the entirety of The Controllers…. I just watch clips here and there coz I liked the main actress as well (and I was curious), and boy….. was he intense….. 😳haha.
I’m going to skip this one altogether and wait for his next series (I had enough with Unexpected Falling, the 1st half was so damn good and when it ended I was left “?!?!?”)…. He is pretty talented…. So hopefully he will get a “normal” series soon, coz I certainly don’t want to watch some really crazy plot for the sake of an actor/actress.
Hello, I can’t access Viki in my region… sorry to ask but does this drama contain subtitles under Viki? 🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️This…
Ah! Thanks much for your effort. ❤️ hope they do it soon, the production is mid-high budget and is tastefully done….
It has some oddities on the romance side which might not suit younger viewers or the general crowd (one example: it kinda takes very real life modern day issues between 2 people to the more extreme/exaggerated end). However the slice-of-life bits and business themes are pretty solid esp. coz it goes into the P.R industry in relative depth. It’s actually very eye-opening/interesting.
Viki has added a channel and is seeking regional licensing.https://www.viki.com/tv/39738c-in-spite-of-the-strong-wind?qId=2f9d7ab8aebed4d769c0eb0b2499c942#aboutViki's…

This series is actually really good… at least 20 episodes in it still is, but my Mandarin proficiency is only at ~70-80%… ☺️

Ah, ok… then perhaps Peng Guan Ying is a little….. “luckier”… I don’t know if that’s considered lucky actually. Haha. Because his roles are usually more “complex”; manipulating people amongst other things….? Or like more “antagonist” type. However because of this, the range of emotions he has to express needs to be quite wide thus most viewers (and I suppose directors) can see that he is a talented actor.
Sadly, he doesn’t land any major series although he gets main lead roles… and he has already starred in a lot of series… ah, and those who are familiar with him as an actor realised that the series he stars in somehow starts off strong but then towards the end it becomes 50 shades of crazy. 🤣 with some weird-ass ending. Hence why I said he’s jinxed, coz if I count this it’s like the 3rd series in 3 yrs.

Yeap, the preceding ones were even worse…. It all started with the drama The Confidence…. Lol. And then Unexpected Falling… and then this…. 🤣 poor dude, totally jinxed… and obviously he played the role in The Confidence wayyy to well and I think he kinda got type-casted…

Super strong start, it’s so damn good. Totally love that they truly managed continuity from S2…
