Couldn’t agree more, I was surprised it was so good right from the start… but it’s still airing… so I’m…
Really? 🤔 it shouldn’t be coz of that…. The subs are just delayed… I’m definitely perplexed because Misaeng did so well. I think one big difference from Misaeng is that this isn’t as technical. So they don’t really highlight the details and technicality of the advertising world…. It focuses more on power play… and upper management.

But I checked. It’s doing super well in Korea. Like ratings more than doubled. If the new episodes are produced properly, it will end up becoming a big hit. It‘s already at 12%.

This show deserves a 8+ ratings .
Couldn’t agree more, I was surprised it was so good right from the start… but it’s still airing… so I’m kinda annoyed I’d have to wait. Ughhhhh… this is more to a 8.5 based on MDL‘s gauge..

True, Allen Ren’s acting is too bland. I wonder why he’s popular
He is an enigma that I fail to understand as well. I don’t find his acting bad but I totally don’t get why he’s always getting big production lead roles…. Then again, I’m baffled by many of the choices for Mainland male leads…. Allen Ren isn’t the only one.

Lol. I’d be envious of you if you are still a student. I wished I got to watch this when I was a university…
Which is great! Congrats!! Umm.. no, not wot I meant. But imagine if it was 9 yrs. 😱 it’s basically like the drama, a big part of it is boring and mundane even if it isn’t the case for the first 10 yrs. Something I wished I was aware of when I was in uni and choosing my own career path.

I totally understand why some may love this drama but for me it was horribly boring
Lol. I’d be envious of you if you are still a student. I wished I got to watch this when I was a university student. If you are a student and you find it boring then it provided a hint on your career options. 😉

I gave this show a 9.5, but to be very honest, I dropped this one. When I watched this in 2014, it was too painful...…
I just watched this recently too… and it brought back so many memories from when I was a graduate… I wished they produced this when I was at university and I was lucky enough to watch it then…. 🤣

l’ve just completed the series and I really hope the webtoon artist would continue the webtoon with releases that focuses on the life of experienced and senior white collared employees. Lol. I’m at the point in my career whereby I’m really questioning wot is the point of everything…. And what’s next…

Yeah.. if it's been 8 years I think it's safe to assume there won't be any sequels... older dramas don't get sequels…
They defo could do a reboot or another season with different characters in a few yrs, think the job market and the whole definition of work and career has slightly evolved for the younger generation who intends to become a white-collared worker…

But I think they aren’t doing it or maybe they can’t because of the webtoon. Think the webtoon has ended.

the misogyny in this drama makes me so mad tbh...all those ugly middle aged men at the office need to shut up…
I certainly hope it isn’t the norm in Korea anymore… it’s almost a decade ago when this was produced. Some of the remarks and scenes were just pure ridiculous and down right unacceptable… and most of the people in the company were like males. Like 80%…. Have to admit misogyny and the whole gender bias is still super prevalent in most corporates, industries and countries… just not as ridiculous/apparent as portrayed. Parts of it still applies in the sense of working moms and it’s sad that women have to be embarrassed whenever they are better than men and have to do twice as much as men at work to get promoted/recognised.

The hazing and bullying culture in Korea just coz of this “senior” and “junior” thing is also a joke….. so damn childish…. I can’t imagine it happening in like a proper corporate environment.

Seriously… as much as a portion of it reflects and applies specifically only to the Korean culture + corporates…. It is so painfully realistic…. And I think all university students should watch this if they intend to be a white-collared worker… I’m really surprised that they reflected the details, nuances and technicalities so accurately, I’ve actually experienced some of the exact same scenarios/dialogues before. It makes it super relatable and curious to watch for someone who works in an office like myself.

Even in current times… it is still very applicable… graduates really have it very tough. Esp getting hired (which nobody actually tells you about, and it isn’t something they teach at school) and surviving the first year at work. A lot of it is really down to who your direct manager and colleagues are (which to a large extent is luck, “colleagues” are a whole new cohort of humans which no amount of studying can prep you for), and corporate culture…. Intelligence and smarts do matter but it won’t guarantee success nor coming at the top… unlike at school/uni.

Also something most 20-yrs old don’t realise (at least I didn’t) is what it truly means to be any form of white collared worker for 10 yrs, 20 yrs, 30 yrs…. I don’t think it’s actually meant for everyone esp if there isn’t an ultimate goal/ambition or a vision of wot it’s like to do something similar for 30 yrs.

It’s also kinda sad and a little late that I finally understand the true difference and meaning behind a white-collared employee versus a professional (doctors, lawyers, engineers etc)….

It’s a really meaningful watch… truly appreciate all the effort gone into producing the series from the webtoon. Also kudos to the webtoon author… for the realistic depiction. They even showed PowerPoints, Excel in relative detail with some business jargons. 🤣 I’m surprised this series received such high ratings, I thought most people would have died of boredom. I spse most of the viewers are white-collared workers themselves. 🤣🤣🤣 rather unfortunate because most viewers should be senior high school + college + university students…

I couldn't find it on Hulu though.
I found it randomly on Netflix, might differ by regions though.

LOVE Wang Duo and he has not many drama...
Yea. He was so good in Bloody Romance…. He totally should have made it big honestly. He was really good in Yin Yang Master as well.

LOVE Wang Duo and he has not many drama...
Yea. Super sad. But from the few of his works you can really tell that he is a really talented actor. He has so many completed works unrealeased, it’s crazy.

I think his physical appearance, specifically his face is super versatile. Like a blank canvas which I can visualise playing various polarising roles with the help of just hair and makeup. And the most important thing is….. he has a memorable yet versatile face which is rare!👏🏻 Coz honestly, like I just get confused with Mainland lead actors at times. Coz a lot of them have very similar facial profiles…..

I came here looking for a comment like yours. I thought no way it's just me who felt this way, but you said everything…
Yea. Something is amiss with all the acting here. Superb turnoff coz it was so apparent from the start…. esp with a lot of the supporting characters… I almost didn’t complete the movie coz of it. As I was about to give up, I noticed the plot shifting/thickening.. 🤔

Not even kidding but the cops were seriously a joke. 🙈🤷‍♀️ It probably was as bad as me acting or anyone random doing it..

Brilliant plot…. But acting was….. not as natural as I expected. I.e throughout the movie I’m constantly reminded they are just putting up an act, everyone is obviously acting…. Esp the policemen (they were cringe-worthy), and even the 2 male leads….. were subpar/average here.

As such a lot of latent messages were lost in translation because the acting was kinda forced/stiff for a lot of the cast which I found distracting. I only realised a lot of meaningful lessons and messages that the movie was trying to convey from reading articles/movie reviews, which is kinda unfortunate as I found the screenplay very impressive.
