going through serious withdrawal right now. if anyone knows a cdrama that has good af fighting cgi let a pal kno…
Lol, I know of good CGI…. Similar standards and high attention to detail on the colour gradient…. Ah… also the production sets. 1. Love between Fairy and Devil - doesn’t have that much hand-to-hand combat… 🤔, but the CGI was really like wow. 2. Listening Snow Tower- this had like a jaw dropping set and like some legit actions scenes…. But it suffers from an average plot/screenwriting… well at least I remembered it became weird… 3. Snow Sword Stride - I actually think this was one of the best… balanced in all the requirements…. And I actually thought it was much better than this series whilst being quite similar to it. So this is one of my all time favourite Mainland TV series aside from JoL and some others. CGI was solid, but wasn’t as dreamy as this one, more realistic. Really solid martial arts as well. 4. Duoluo Continent - This is actually also very similar to this series. About a bunch of youths, different levels/phases of martial arts, lotsa good fighting but the differences are….. The CGI of this one is closely related to animals because their cultivation is tied to nature, there is no political theme, production budget isn’t as high….
I have a doubt why did the king prepared two decree of giving the throne to 2nd prince and xiao se
It’s basically a backup plan. I.e when the new emperor rules and if he turns out to be a horrible emperor, a neutral 3rd party would be able to revolt and replace the emperor. The 2nd decree was meant to be for the Astronomical Dept. Or that State Preceptor dude…. It unexpectedly fell into Xiao Se hands because of the eunuch.
It could also be another backup viewed differently, I.e if Xiao Se doesn’t use the decree he has at hand at all, the State Preceptor will be able to nominate the new Emperor with the 2nd one. Hence, an indication that Xiao Se decided to become the emperor…. Thus answering the late Emperor’s question before his passing.
He lost weight primarily while filming for Ordinary Greatness! His character there was in his early 20s and he…
But I just saw one of the latest videos on his Weibo. He defo doesn’t look any bigger…. And he does look a bit uhhh scary….
Agree that losing weight does make a person look younger in general but it becomes a bit scary when someone loses way too much weight… esp when he was already in the normal weight range prior.
you can watch Racket Boys, the glory, weak hero class 1, Alice in boderland, if your into BLs than Bleuming, Old…
Oh gosh, I felt the exact same way with My Mister. I just really couldn’t get into it. Are you only into K-dramas? How about C-dramas? If you are alright, I recommend Meet Yourself. Less artsy/abstract and less metaphorical…. But the themes are similar; thought provoking, self-reflection and super realistic.
Anyways, how about Our Blues? Did you watch it? Extraordinary Attorney Woo since you mentioned Hospital Playlist.
Yup, he looked so frail standing in that doorway the first time he went back home... Even compared to Sword Snow…
Yea, I noticed it in SSS already and I thought it was a bit much… but right now his entire frame is so small….. I mean for a girl that’s already borderline, I can kinda understand with the whole wanting to wear dresses, the whole women’s fashion thing. Body hugging, silhouette etc…
But com’on.. a guy can’t look good in a suit with sucha small frame. Wot on Earth is the motivation behind??? So damn weird…. Yea, defo not healthy, emaciated for sure.
And he was never big or even broad or anything to begin with…. JoL was prob the best.
I have to say Liu YiFei was absolutely mesmerising and gorgeous in this movie.
I have no idea if it’s coz of her make-up or….. something else…. Because I don’t find her that drop-dead gorgeous outside of this movie, I mean she’s pretty but that’s it. But she was really stunning in this movie, so I’m sure it’s partially hair and make-up. Think it’s the way they drew her eyes…..?
Yes, there is a beautiful romance. It’s like having a front row seat to watching the leads fall in love!
Haha, that’s great!! I loved it tooooooo!! 😍😍😍 It’s less artsy and metaphorical versus My Liberation Notes… but yes, it kinda is meant to be a bit more uh…. Thought provoking and self-reflection kinda thing.

Great! But also just a heads-up, this is more of a slice of life… Eat,Pray, Love kinda theme…. Alongside romance. So the dialogue/script is probably the most amazing thing about this drama (which not everyone will enjoy and some will find boring)… it’s closer to a mesh up of My Liberation Notes, Our Blues and The Story of Xing Fu kinda thing…

Yeah, it‘s just slow burn (by modern day standards, but it‘s also the most perfect and ideal yet realistic romance that I’ve came across in a long long time) but it’s got so much skin-ship and PDA after… AND there is no weird crazy Mainland editing, which is damn surprising….. so like there are still a lot of episodes left after they get together. Have to admit the pacing is one of the best I’ve seen for Mainland dramas.
Li Xian was the perfect cast… I’m so glad they didn’t cast like some really fair flower-boy dude. This drama…
Damns. I also want to commend the actor who played Xie Xiao Xia… He‘s only 17! He is such a good actor!! He made his character super multi-dimensional and I could really feel how he felt for the girl in the series although she’s so much older.
Kudos to casting director, really well done because he/she DID NOT cast like really delicate-porcelain-confusing-looking stereotype Mainland leads (That would be a joke if you told me they grew up in an agricultural village….. ) I really liked all the female characters here as well, each really came to life and are so relatable…
The PDA between FL and ML = ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ gosh. Crystal Liu and Li Xian are so damn cute, the other guy in her drama last yr, Chen Xiao, was a bit too short and small for her. Her chemistry with Chen Xiao was also good, but visually she and Li Xian tops it… their chemistry is so damn believable… They are so so sweeeetttt…

This drama is amazing. S.Korea started producing these kinda dramas earlier, but this is super fitting to showcase Mainland’s smaller cities and villages. It has the ideal kinda romance which balances realism and also a bit of a unicorn kinda thing.
The screenwriter is really talented, some of the dialogue is exactly wot crossed my mind and I’m around the main character’s age. Super realistic and thought provoking dialogue. I’m kinda annoyed I didn’t start watching these types of dramas until recently, probably would have inspired me to make better life decisions. A lot of wise and meaningful points were highlighted in a very practical way, like why education is important, the dilemmas of hitting your kids, wot it really means to have a job vs. a career etc. Also, I ❤️ the grandma, she‘s hilarious, made me miss my late grandmother. 😥
Lol. Haha. Ok, then it‘s not your thing. I watched it without knowing wot it was… it’s a drama without much of a specific theme BUT it’s more of anyone who is Asian would be able to relate to it…. If otherwise I think most would find it super weird and random.
