Geez. Ji Jin Hee was good in this role man…. He basically nailed it and he even looks the part…. I watched because of Son Seok Kyu….. also really liked his role here… kinda cute and silly at times. Lol.
I’m surprised the plot and the execution was really solid… it’s actually comparable to the American version unlike the Korean Suits… I really hope there is a Season 2 for this one..

No worries…but defo watch the Jin Dong one first. And if you really have a lot of time watch the Wrath of Time one as the very first then only do the Jin Dong one… coz as much as I already have some form of background…. it was a bit all over the place for me coz I ended up watching all of them in a random order…. And I ended up watching the Jin Dong one like recently… 🤣 and I was like thinking to myself. … Ohhhh… I see… why didn’t MDL link them…. Damnit. 😒

I have no idea why MDL refuses to link up all the Candle in the Tomb series. They did it for Daomu Biji but I submitted a request for them to link it up but they just refused it. They gave like a really vague explanation on why they rejected it.
So basically you have to look for it on your own. I think they’ve adapted until the 7th volume for TV series already. With 5th and 6th not released yet I think…

Yea.. all of them were good. Jin Dong was not bad as Hu Bayi as well, quite fitting. Honestly I don’t really like Pan Yue Ming as Hu Bayi…. But I’ve never read the novels.

Actually wrath of time was the first one I watched. You could too. Then after that you can start with the one adapted from the first volume. I wouldn’t exactly call it a side story…. Kinda yes and no. Would say it is a prequel… like it is the beginning/origin of the entire novel…. Like the foundings of all the tomb raiding factions the novel was based on. Prior Hu BaYi was born.

Ooo same! Wrath of Time was my favourite out of all too. Vengo Gao was amazing there… it’s not really a side story right? It’s more like a prequel… like the beginning of the beginnings….
So the actors in the 1st one is completely different (the one based on the 1st volume)… But you should at least watch that to get an overall understanding of the whole novel…. After that I spse it “doesn’t matter”….. but I watched it in order because they retained the cast… and production crew… so the plot kinda “flows”.
Conceptually and fundamentally a very good idea…. And it had something unique to run with…. But the execution and elaboration totally failed….. the execution was kinda odd esp first 1/3 of the story… I couldn’t tell if they were trying to copy an American film or if it was trying to do a fusion….. was super weird. And they didn’t give the story a proper introduction to do that whole American kinda thing….
Scary bits could totally be improved…. But wasn’t entirely fail… just could tell was a newbie…

Hahahaha. I like your sentence “ If you want the audience to support the Police, make the bad guys uncharismstic & evil.... Make the good guys charismatic...” I’ve never thought of it that way but it is so true…
And that damn mansion is so nice… lol. I think it’s a hotel… I have nothing against Johnny Huang, but I find him to be a mediocre actor. Not bad, but not good either…. He has loadsa fans though…. I think it’s coz of the BL drama ages ago.
I actually thought the script was not bad though…. Well not the script, more of the plot was not bad. But then again I think I don’t hold any hope for C-dramas in this genre…… I’ve never watched Stealth Walker before…. Think I came across it, read the synopsis and it didn’t entice me….

Exactly! Tony Yang is really good though…. I mean his acting was just amazing. Esp the last scene… he managed to twitch his cheeks but he kept his gaze completely unfazed….. that is some crazy skill. Yea, Johnny Huang has the same expression in every series I’ve watched him in. 😒
