Not only that.I'm only on the second episode and this feels just...wrong.The dialogues in the first episode felt like they were written by a highschool level student, and the acting is sooo sub-par,which is really strange, because I've seen the main leads' previous dramas, and I know they can act,but here...I guess I can only blame the director...
The fake crying scene is too much,I am dropping this with a score of 1
The only thing worth watching in the entire drama is when the ML and FL appear alone together. The other characters…
I agree about the romance and the chemistry between the main leads, they are just so adorable and great together, and as for the secondary characters all I could think about while watching was-with friends like these who needs enemies?
I fast forwarded my way through this because of the bad subtitles, but also because I was interested only in Ao Rui Peng, and I was not disappointed,he absolutely stole the show, his character had the best story and his acting was just top notch,he showed such great talent in one of his first roles,at the end my only thought was why on earth would anybody choose the bland and boring Lu Yi Bai over the wonderfully expressive and nuanced Zhang Hao Tian(also the tallest, most handsome, with the most beautiful smile, and always there to help)? Other than that there were quite a few funny moments, the camaraderie between the classmates was great, the teachers were also interesting, for a high school drama it was ok.
Ex-campers of MM, where are you guys at now? I couldn't find any drama to watch now. The last good one were this…
I just finished re-binging it,and realize it might be a long time before I find another I like so much. Before seeing MM my favourite xianxia was Blue Whisper, and I thought Ren Jia Lun's Chang Yi was the most beautiful character I had seen, but Ao Rui Peng took it to a whole new level, being three whole characters in one,so alike and yet so different. Can't wait to see his next dramas. I also watched The Glory and was bored and disappointed, although I do appreciate the amazing job of the actor playing the ultimate cowardly villain, what's her name' s father.I've only seen shorts of the other dramas mentioned here, and they have no appeal. But it looks like Demon Hunter's Romance is finally seeing the light of day, been waiting for that one for years, so I have something new to look forward to.
Dropped it once, took it up again after Moonlight Mystique, and it wasn't that bad. There were a lot of plot holes, people teleporting just at the right time, stupid decisions abound, but the chemistry between actors is there, and Ao Rui Peng crying in ep.19 was so heartbreaking it made me cry as well.Ending is weird but in a nice way,I liked it .So I give the drama an 8. Really great soundtrack.
I really liked this drama,it was short and to the point, unlike other people I did not have any problem with the pacing, everything seemed to progress in the right way,the special effects were just what I expected- so no disappointment there.I laughed out loud at some of the fights, and I was really impressed and a little creeped out by evil Ao Rui Peng.I give it a 10.
I'm thinking about to watch this drama, but I'm not sure yet.Can someone please let me know, what this drama is…
It's a revenge romance,a bit of Romeo and Juliet, with the male lead growing more powerful with every new test. I absolutely love it,even though the first time I watched it I dropped it because I felt I was watching flashes of a mad mind - because unfortunately half the drama was chopped off on the editing block(I got this from an interview with the main lead). But if you stick with it after the first ten episodes you will definitely like it,the relationship between the leads is very mature, the action scenes are very well done and I still listen to the soundtrack to this day. Hope this helps.
This drama doesn't make sense for me.I'm only on episode 2 and things are so rushed. It looks like a long time…
From an old interview of Ren Jialun's I understood the drama was supposed to have around 80 episodes but they were forced to drop about half of them, hence the disjointedness of the first 10 episodes or so,but if you hang in there you will eventually get the story.I dropped it once because of this, but came back to it and was really glad of it,it's one of my favourite dramas ever.
I've just finished episode 13 and I was so ....meh...that I came here and read a bunch of comments. I will drop…
I think it was the script that didn't know what to do with itself. The male lead has no qualities other than his compassion. After so many years of life he has gathered a bit of fortune and ....that's it. No knowledge,no wisdom. He knows so little about himself that when he finally finds his long lost little brother ....he decides he never wants to see him again - because he was offended by his deception? He found out about the meteor stones and... doesn't even ask for as many details as possible, especially after being defeated by one. He thinks nothing about ....hm, finding the stones and bringing them together to see if he could cure his condition. After the first close call with death he goes back to his life as if nothing, no plan or strategy to prevent his enemies from attacking again or from getting captured. His young enemy doesn't know if he wants revenge or express gratitude for the help he received in his teenage years. I couldn't even understand what the superintendent of the army wanted. Mu Li Hua was the only one that made sense. She wanted the secret of immortality to survive her family's curse.
To those of you who watched this all the way through, thank you for your service
I've just finished episode 13 and I was so ....meh...that I came here and read a bunch of comments. I will drop it. It's a pity the story seemed promising.
Great mystery series. I loved everything about it : the asymmetry of the episodes (some contained one mystery, others finished one problem and started another leaving its conclusion for the next episode) ; the fact that everything was connected to one big scheme ; the mix of Chinese and English (although, the dubbing was painfully obvious when characters spoke English - even the British characters) ; the variety of the cases being investigated ; and most of all the dynamic between the three main characters, I felt each of them brought something to the table.
I didn't feel Bai Youning was annoying as others have pointed out, given her background it would have been surprising if she had turned out to be the perfect, kind , smart "princess" who solved everything on her own. Instead, she was quite realistic from a psychological point of view - raised as an only child of a rich mobster, surrounded all her life by tough men - of course she had a prickly, nosy, smart-mouthed personality to cover for her own loneliness and insecurities.
As unusual as the cases were, the really entertaining part for me was the way the characters (and not just the main ones) interacted, evolved and matured by the end. Especially the main trio, each with their own quirks and flaws, who went from barely standing each other, to having each other's back and supporting one another as true friends.
What a treat this drama was ! I loved everything about it, despite some flaws and some scenes that could have been played better if the ML had a bit more acting experience. After the disappointment and snoozefest that was Burning Flames, and the complete fiasco of In Blossom (of which I could only watch the first 14 episodes), this drama was a comfort and joy. It had such a cozy feeling. Hua Qing Ge was cute and fearless and all her antics felt natural to me because she knew she was in a fictional world and as such she thought actions didn't matter much. It was only some time later that she realised her trying to change the end of her novel brought about serious consequences and that her characters had their own traumas, motivations and feelings, and so took on a life of their own. I really liked Ding Ze Ren's Ji Chu ( I wish they had kept his first hairstyle all throughout the drama, it was the best look for him). He was great as a villain and as a man in love, but he still needs to work on his expressions in emotional or sad scenes. I look forward to seeing him again, hopefully in another costume drama. I thought the ending was quite fitting, it was a lesson about revenge and the heavy price it requires. The costumes and make-up were unusual enough to be good looking. The soundtrack is great. All in all a great drama that I recommend watching, and despite its few flaws I give it a 10.

10/10 - especially for the end song.
