I had so much fun with this one!
Great story, great acting all around, there were no episodes that felt like fillers,I was actually constantly worried if the episodes would be enough to show everything from the opening.
And the really big plus : it was consistently funny-unlike many dramas that start out as comedy and by mid episodes forget about the laughs and go full tragic revenge, this one (although it did have its own tragic tear inducing moments) had me laughing all the way, with its ridiculous situations and cartoony sounds. The cinematography was good, the music and bgms were good, the action scenes were pretty decent -I wish there had been more of them.
This is going to remain one of my absolute favourites from this year-not that there have been that many to choose from.

Title The First Jasmine Spoiler
This was such a good drama, with good alternating between lighthearted moments and tragic ones,it didn't spell…
P.S. I cried full buckets for Li Feibai when I realised the explosion had damaged his eyes and he was going blind, and more buckets when I saw his love lady had gone back to him and she said his eyes would heal over time.

This was such a good drama, with good alternating between lighthearted moments and tragic ones,it didn't spell everything out for us,it didn't forcibly tell us what to think or which character was right, and the way the narrative unfolded in pieces that we had to pick up in order to see the whole picture - I have to say,so far this is the absolute best drama of this year.
Great side characters that I rooted for, amazing soundtrack and background music, good costumes, hair and makeup styles-despite the historical period, I honestly can't remember a thing I might have disliked about it.

So, question to the folks who finished it - I understand the "Mo Li" is a pretty unique show, but does…
I don't know about resemblance, but it definitely involved me emotionally and intellectually, and other dramas that hit the same spots for me were Story of Kunning Palace(also a Bai Lu success drama) and Joy of Life 1 and 2,and then maybe a little less way - Love a Lifetime, A Familiar Stranger.

You people are obsessed so with POJ. Literally can't praise any drama without bringing down POJ. Obsession on…
I only mentioned PoJ because it was one of the few dramas I was able to finish this year,so it was enjoyable at least, and I appreciated Zhang Ling He's portrayal of the male lead ( book male lead felt like an insuffarable arrogant snob,I dropped it after a few chapters),but other than the first part with the butcher girl's village life, the rest was rather forgettable,I only remember a few scenes here and there with the bad guys mostly, they were handsome and entertaining.

This is the first drama this year I couldn't stop watching, all the others I either dropped or watched them in pieces or speeding to 1.5 or 2x speed, and they all felt remakes or recycled themes and plots,Even Pursuit of Jade which was nice I think, plus Zhang Ling He who always makes dramas watchable, was utterly forgettable,I can't even remember how it ended. But this one feels refreshing, engaging,I couldn't wait to see what was next. Although I am not usually a fan of this time period's costumes and makeup, they look very carefully crafted and real, somehow.
Anyway, just finished ep.33 and can't wait to see the end of the story.
P.S. The soundtrack is really good as well,I really hope someone uploads the bgm on youtube

Call me crazy but Ao Rui Peng doesn’t give off main character energy. But he’s a good looking guy so it’s…
It is very sad.In every other show I watched with him, even as a support character he always steals the show, but here he was crippled by the script sooooo bad.And when I read the book before the drama aired I kept seeing him as Yan Chi,he could have embodied the character perfectly-and he had nothing to work with, and his pairing with Li Landi was absolutely terrible,no chemistry.Sooo sad....

Title Moonlight Mystique Spoiler
I'm on episode 5 and wondering why Bai Shuo keep blaming everyone around her for what happen to her father? Isn't…
It's because he died protecting the very people who were ready to kill him for the cure, sacrificing himself for a mob of desperate people who later even forgot what they had done.

I still come here always wen I rewatch to put comments here. Still my favourite drama. And still crying when rewatch…
Since last year, either I have somewhat lost my interest in C-dramas or their quality has dropped significantly - either way, I think Moonlight Mystique is the last great drama, the peak of quality writing, acting, directing, dubbing, costumes and hairstyles and sets ,soundtrack and music, and absolute attention to detail...

and he’s top billed…guys it might be wraps 💔
I just read the novel a couple of months ago, didn't really have any actors in mind for the characters, but I'm thinking Song Zu Er would have been a much better actress, she has quite the range,as for the male lead the best actor to pull cold and arrogant would have been Zhang Ling He.Oh well....
