currently on ep 12 and i'm so anxious seeing the cousin trying to wreck weishao & xiaoqiao's marriage. is this…
naa, he wonât cause much trouble. heâs trying to test her, and he also has his own dilemma. But he sorts both the things, at least as of now he is sorted. who knows abt the future episodes
Every time Manman gets angry she does something that gives me goosebumps..... The box matter now the letter matter…
oh thatâs so true. I also love how she always has such clarity about whatâs happening, why itâs happening and who could be behind it. She isnât simply reacting out of emotional impulse.
omg I just got to this part too, this show is making me cry and laugh all at the same time I love it so much.…
Yep, thatâs true. I felt similar appreciation for the alpaca episode as well. Who would have thought weâll get so much insight into a character in such a round about way, while being that humorous.
omg I just got to this part too, this show is making me cry and laugh all at the same time I love it so much.…
Exactly! The funeral scene is such a good example of that. I was laughing like crazy at their fake crying and then enter TQ, truly sad and mourning. Itâs so unpredictable.
1. Okay so, Luo Zhi Zhou grew up with the male lead, Xuan Lie. He is in love with the consort(royal concubine)…
1. The only things we know abt LZZ's intentions so far, implied and otherwise, his first priority is the royal concubine & he didnât want XL to be a part of hunt. Other than this, none of his motives/ plans have been revealed so far(Iâve also only watched till ep 10). Yes, it does seem like he is the leader of his clan, since at one point the king says that XL now has the support of 2 clans. I also donât think he had anything to do with XLâs parentâs death.â¨
2. Nothing has been made clear, but in ep10 they are discussing how XLâs parents were investigating weapon smuggling before they died. Weapon smuggling is releated to Xi clan. So, they are the obvious suspect but we donât know for sure.â¨
3. From what I gathered they were helping transporting goods for the Xi clan, decades ago. But they werenât aware that the goods were actually weapons. So, they sort of became witness to Xi clanâs crime. Hence they are living in hiding. â¨a. But a person with that tattoo was also sent by Xi clan as an assassin, so maybe some are still working for Xi clan while other are in hiding ?⨠b. I donât think so, but we really donât know much abt what LZZ is plotting at this point.
wtf is yu daddy đ cant believe they made her call him that in an actual conversation and not just as a passing…
haha, while I did cringe at that, it suddenly struck me that that was only because she used English. In Korean itâs normal(as far as Iâve noticed) to address someone as abonim. she calls the 2ML that the first time she assumes heâs a father. Never thought abt that much until she used the same honorific in English đ
They are doing sooooo much better with the mental health aspect of the story in this one. The main leads are actively…
The mental health part is so true, and I really like how consistent it has been. After the motherâs first visit during their high school time, I really liked that they actually acknowledged MLâs sisterâs death. Him crying in front of his family, visiting his sister with his dad, his dad telling him it wasnât his fault. Even the conversation he has with his dad as to why he needs to go and take care of his mother. Iâm really curious to see how theyâll sort his momâs character at the end.
Till episode 12 I was quite neutral about this adaptationâs take on LJJ character as ju won. But after eps 13, Iâve to say I really like how they shaped JW. In GA, I really disliked how in making LJJ âmatureâ they made her someone who just put up with LXâs motherâs toxic behaviour. This is exactly why it was so satisfying when JW took a stand for SH and protected him.
As someone who has watched the big three of the year so far (QoT, Lovely Runner, LND) this one takes the cake…
So true, I appreciate the storytelling & characterisation even more considering how organically certain changes have been integrated to fit the story in 16 ep format. Hoping this momentum carries in second half as well
Watching Duanwu and shrimp be happy and getting flashbacks of who rules the world. ( + The long Ballad...)will…
After the long ballad trauma, I aways start with the assumption that weâll go down the same path while hoping Iâll be proved wrong by the writersđĽ˛
I agree about the mothers. Last episode when Seok Ryuâs mother does a 180 after a single fight I was kinda surprised,…
hmm, it's like for her mother her perfect daughter is just temporarily rebelling. At first she thought she'll give her an earful and she'll be back to being her perfect daughter. Their fight derails that idea, at that point instead of trying to talk to her & understand why she is rebelling, she just changes her approach. At the end she still believes she'll get her perfect daughter back and whatever is up with her is not big deal.
From Seok Ryu's perspective she's clearly not ready to talk about her life in USA. She hasn't told the complete story to even a single person yet. So talking to her mom is extra difficult since all her life she has tried to be the "perfect" daughter, the baggage of expectations is heavy.
At the end both are stubborn, but the person who needs to be understanding is the mother. Seok Ryuk needs that love & care rn.
haha, this got longer than I was going to write, I got too invested with my psychoanalysis.
I just finished it, I cried a lot in the last episode, the way they protected their son in the end. But I didn't…
The way I interpreted it was: the whole âreligionâ was based on the foundation that you have done something wrong, so youâll go to hell. The fact that child got the death prophecy challenged that very foundation. This meant the ârulesâ were different then what the religion taught or worse the people preaching the religion themselves werenât aware of the what and how. And since people witness this, that a child got prophecy, that instead of him the parents died, we end on a hopeful note, that at least some people might stop blindly believing.
Let's talk about episode 3, because that was some good shit.First of all I loved the themes oin it: idealism vs…
I agree about the mothers. Last episode when Seok Ryuâs mother does a 180 after a single fight I was kinda surprised, because a person doesnât change so easily. But then in ep3 through the conversation b/w her parents, we see that the mother hasnât actually changed much, only her âapproachâ has changed.
Novel JX actually seduced HT to sign the papers without knowing the content. Then she stole his seal while he…
I completely agree, I was rather curious how they would handle the breakup part, considering they matured JXâs character so much in the drama and HTâs character is not as distant here. Novel JX was indeed a spoiled brat and that was exactly what made them getting back together so satisfying. The conversation they have in hospital was peak character development for her. But in the drama, even if they have the same conversation few episodes down the line it wonât be as impactful as in the novel.
and here I thought the show already peaked at the bronze statueđđ
