From all the 2022 summer dramas I intended to watch, I left this almost to the last and it turned out to be the best of all of them! I was even thinking of dropping it from my selection or leaving it on the ptw list for another occasion but I'm glad I decided to watch first episode.
Acting is good, the script is veeery good, I mean all the lines and interactions of the main characters are soooo good, chemistry is also good and makes audience keep interested in their dynamics aside from each episode's main plot, and also each of the cases were nicely selected, there were many touching moments among those cases. They didn't need to go over the top with exaggerated cases or acting or miraculous solutions to achieve a good storytelling. And I liked the fact that each case had more sides to it than the common "good vs bad" where the bad are always bad and the good are always good ¿? instead they were much more complicated from a human perspective, thus making it more real.
Anyway, I gave it a 9 because even though it is not a masterpiece it surely managed to achieve much more than expected from a light and simple drama.
Season 2 or at least SP please!
Ps. the music was also nicely selected and added to the story!
6.9 because it is very short I suppose... but it is actually pretty good considering it is only 4 eps of 10 min each and a very short side story to introduce a character for the main movie.
what?! so Usui made it safe until the end? :| the end was pretty boring tbh, it was very soft and suddenly everyone changed their minds about everything. The drama had a good start but it went downspiral from around ep 3 onwards. Watched it for Yuto and was hoping for a good drama but now I'm kind of sorry for every actor/actress involved on it :| anyway...
EP 4 I liked the retirement match more than I expected to :') it was very funny to watch all his workmates trying to play. Btw the whole plot of his daughter not talking to him really annoyed me :|
I was just gonna say that! I've been watching j-dramas for a while now and I never understood why do they have…
I think it is a way to show the vulnerability of the characters? Sometimes they even put them naked and on fetal pose. Or like they have so much going on within their arc story so this is a way of introducing them in a blunty/raw way. Idk haha
That was cute, but then, Kobayashi didn't confess? I'll miss Sachiko san. Hope it gets subbed onde day so I can…
That's right, he couldn't confess at the end. If there's another SP I hope he can confess this time, after all the Shungo part is pretty much coming to an end after this (or so it seems)
Btw if would be better if you put your comment as spoiler :)
Asdfghjkl I had not felt that invested into a female lead's relationship in a drama in a long time lol.
I watched this mainly because of Saotome Taichi, and also Takahata of course, but Taichi was the main reason, so obviously I enjoyed all his scenes. Then by EP 12 I was like what?! you can't come back just like that!!! he made me angry, I started rooting for Kobayashi, but deep inside me I still had hope for both of them, wishing he would make up for his actions.
I mean, to a certain point it is understandable that he would back off thinking she didn't actually love him as much given her cold personality and apparent lack of interest over his feelings, but still he didn't have the courage to face it and instead ran away just like that, and then he ran away for a second time, and then he comes back as if nothing happened... that's what makes him a jerk, but still I suffered when she told him to go away and that she would forget about him :'(
I'll be honest, I would not have suffered as much if it had been any other actor, but the fact it was Taichi on screen made it all the way special and it was a huge part of my affection towards the character haha.
Anyway, I'm glad she didn't fell for him again just like that, forgiving everything but instead she stood for her. It is not a common thing on dramas, so it was truly a nice thing to watch on a female character.
Conclusion, whether it is Shungo san or Kobayashi san, I'm ok with any of them lol

It is a nice drama, although it had potential to go the extra mile to become a very good drama and didn't make it at the end.
I get it was episodic format but still would have liked to see more continuity. It started to feel more like the same after a couple episodes.
Last episode was ok though, it brought back the excitement it had lost by the middle of the drama.
Overall a nice one
