I rarely start daily dramas(Many hours of eps.) but was interested in this show's synopsis so gave it a go.Got really hooked after the first episode..Am at ep 24 now and am really liking the show so far. The show has many elements I like,Kind Hearted Male lead who is against an uphill struggle, spunky female lead ,excellent OTP chemistry ,strong villains .
Really liking this.Am upto Ep 7 and the cast is doing a fab job.Really liking the OTP chemistry build up and surprisingly ,also the second ML.. Takes you back to your school /college days and the atmosphere is very natural.Must have one of the best OSTs ever-D-Day by Jungigo,No No by Owol,True by Runy and Something by George and Kang Hye In are real standout tracks ! This show has many heavy themes and deals with them in a fairy tale manner. Plastic surgery and the taboos associated with it are not a usual topic.Am sure the manga has been good and brought to life very well here..
With the writers of Six Flying Dragons and Tree With Deep roots here, think we can at least expect a well written and researched show.. Only hitch is,it is not be based on history and actually is a fantasy and I am very wary of Korean Fantasy dramas after Hwayugi! They are being very smart by releasing short seasons. That way, even if the ending sucks big time (like GOT) there would be red hot buzz due to previous eps. Still, I wish this show does not turn out bad and actually becomes a landmark Kdrama..
Have liked all of the PD Jin Hyuk's shows (including Doctor Stranger !) and think he is quite good in genre hopping..Suspense/Action/Family Drama/Espionage/Medical thrillers/Romance/Saeguks .. If you are a Lee Min Ho fan you can't not see City Hunter and if you are not it could make you one !
Heard many good things about it and tried watching it..From Ep 1 it felt like I had landed in psycho territory dressed as a saeguk.. The King is one of the most unlikable characters I have seen so far -he killed a kid with poison!-and I do wish he dies fast..Yeo Jin Goo is nailing the psycho part well Not a good way to create any dilemma over who the FL chooses .In the next few eps,a young girl gets raped.. Frankly, this looks more a horror show than a saeguk so far with a sense of upcoming disasters.I get it that times were bad then but to show it in this way is not frankly my idea of a good Kdrama On the plus side, performances are intense, music is superb and production values are great.
Rewatching this again in 4 months now and this show along with City Hunter is like comfort food for me whenever am in a drama slump.. Kim Jae Won is surreal in his troubled revenge seeking David Lee character -he effortlessly conveys without words what many actors can't even after mouthing dialogues .His OTP pairing with Lee Soo Kyoung is one of the biggest reasons I like this show this much..
Started this recently and while the pace is quite slow liking the overall theme as how each of the characters gets hurt or hurts others with love and still goes on falling in love..Am at Ep 7 and this show is now picking up steam! This show is beautiful IN HD quality as the countryside locales come out quite well.
Really used to like ALL Park Bo Young dramas so am quite taken aback by most of the comments here.Is the show this bad? P.S. -I watched "Come Back Mister" and ended up liking it quite a bit.
Is this drama similar to Chief Kim or The Fiery Priest? Like a rather light/simple story with lots of comedy &…
Quite a heavy show in terms of themes and may not suit if you want a lighter watch. If you want funny, light and entertaining "My fellow Citizens" would be good in the current dramas.
If there was a tearjerker and sad drama to recommend, would recommend this one and My Spring Days easily.. Really liked them in spite of not liking terminal illness dramas.
why are the ratings so low (in comparison to some other dramas)... this drama seems so good!! i'm literally waiting…
I normally do the same and wait for dramas to end. This one, however, has superb episodes that are basically short movies with very few dull moments. Some of the eps are so hillarious,it is best watched in small doses of 1-2 eps.

And it is on Netflix! Why is it in September though?
