So finally finished this .I agree with many comments that the end was a bit abrupt but it ended quite well. Another romcom after "Clean with Passion for now "that I really liked. Hope Kim Young Kwang picks up a heavy duty action role next -i can totally picture him in a City Hunter/Healer hybrid.
Precisely the reason it should not have been remade.I had seen the Japanese original and couldn't keep watching as the last eps came in as the story was taking a very dark turn.If I remember right, the J Drama was also a flop! It was a shame as the actors and PD have done some phenomenal work in the past. This also has a superb OST
Nearing the ending episodes and Kim Young Kwang is slaying with his acting chops. Many of his expressions on eps 22-25/32 have been superb. In hands of a lesser actor, this character could have become a lame joke .Also really liked his scenes with Koo Ja Sung who plays his best friend. Veronica park also has really grown on me in the latter half of the series.Kim Jae Kyung is really gorgeous but her expressions are too good as well! A really good romcom -it could have been a tad shorter but the execution of the romantic/ dramatic scenes and some of the slapstick comedy is beautiful
Got near the halfway point now and the sauna date scenes were the most hilarious so far.The way JKJ transitioned between Secretary Jeong and Veronica Park was well done and the random guy she pointed out as her boyfriend sure had it from KYK! I would have balked at the premise this show gives but all credit to the writer and the PD for crafting an engaging storyline.
Just started watching this and was totally surprised with how the plot developed in the first 2 /16 eps, very pleasantly. Kim Young Kwang is anyway impressive (really liked him in The Lookout,as the anti hero vigilante) but Jin Ki Joo is a revelation here -she is excellent so far. Flew under my radar due to low ratings but this show goes to prove you should never underestimate a Kim Young Kwang show .This happened with The Lookout and also with Sweet stranger beside me. This show is a perfect mix of comedy, potential romance and thrilling elements. Looking forward to completing this !
It has actually already happened in "Love returns".Maybe the prestige levels of 16 eps shows is higher.
Family Dramas are an acquired taste and you need to really pick and choose the right ones.I used to dread 50 eps plus dramas but have seen some gems in this genre after seeing My Father is strange.Even the show you mentioned,Father I'll take care of you,is one of my faves esp due to the characters of Lee Soo Kyoung and Kim Jae won who are the lead pair.It does take time as there are multiple stories but the payoff is excellent
Loving this one.Am Upto ep 95 now and there are a lot of positives.Lead cast esp.Pyo Ye Jin is superb .Very pretty and natural and her scenes with Lee Sung Yeol are the reason you should see this show. Also really liked Lee Dong Ha in spite of his villianish second lead character -his acting and expressions are so well put together.Elder actors are quite good. Even secondary characters like Myeongjoo,Injeong,Jaehui,Chungseo and Mr.Lee have some great scenes Great storyline-does drag in the middle but gets back up quite well
I mean we could give them another chance, since they have quite a few good dramas prior to Hwayugi, for example
Yes they have.My GF is a Gumiho,My Girl,The Greatest Love and The Master's Sun are some of my fave dramas. But Hwayugi would have been their biggest achievement but turned a disaster. Hence ,the heavy disappointment.Yes,it could be good but am quite wary and would wait for the full series to air before giving it a go
Really liked Ep 1 /16-operated like a near thriller in terms of their meet up. Has a good storyline as of now.The OST Esp. Part 2 are inspired choices Have seen other comments and guess will hold watching for now as would hate to wait to see what happens Kudos to Netflix for picking this up.The atmosphere built up in this show deserves to be seen in its pristine quality.
If you want a drama that presents multiple themes (romcom, revenge, fantasy, business lessons, melodrama) in a cohesive manner, look no further than this. This show introduced me to Kdramas and has remained a strong favorite. Superb acting, great writing and direction, excellent OST and a pleasing visual style-the show has it all. Have rewatched this multiple times and it doesn't lose any of its freshness.
Am at Ep 100..Have been hearing online comments about how things collapsed post Ep 90 but am not feeling any of that so far..What I am seeing is a writer at the top of his/her game and a solid emotional roller coaster of a drama. The kind of twists i have experienced in this show-and they have all turned out for the betterment of the story-are to good ! This is Not a simple romcom with focus on just the romantic pairs but is really the story of what a parent child relationship is/can be .. Kim Hye Ri,Park Yoon Jae and Kang Tae sang are superb in their roles. All the other characters-female leads, senior actors are also quite good. I have been seeing only this drama for the past one week -which is rare.Gripping storyline and fab performances .One of my fave shows now !

Happy Birthday to one of the most beautiful and fittest Korean actresses
