Was there any scandal ?I had thought the show suffered by being aired against Love in the Moonlight-which seemed to have superb ratings.

One of the few JDramas I was able to complete.
Stellar cast ,fast paced and no nonsense approach to the story (which I think is how Jdramas work) and above all an awesome Kimura Takuya
Only complaint : A very short season !Hope the next season comes up fast

Maybe IU and YJG are major stars in Korea- but then Scarlet Heart and Absolute Boyfriend had relatively poor ratings in Korea

Great observation! Hong Sisters have rarely begun well in their fantasy dramas and end up progressing well later .This is where the actors come in who lend more believability to the fantasy and the great stakes for the lead pair -worked very well with So Ji Sub /Gong Hyo Jin in The Masters Sun and Lee Seung Gi /Shin Min Ah in My Girlfreind is a Gumiho .For this show,
I personally feel the actors are miscast -would be happy to be proven wrong as the show progresses!

This is one of my go to dramas when I have withdrawal symptoms from strong dramas.Others are City Hunter,WWSK,Doctors etc..
Rewatching this for the 4th time now and the show just feels so good even today.

Just started this and this is a thriller done right ! Not a fan of Chinese shows but this is really good stuff.As a fan of Sherlock Holmes stories ,I anyway like the male lead character a lot..

Am at Ep 5 now and the plot is developing quite nicely so far!

He was also in Tales of the New Gisaeng -a long length drama which was quite a success

I kept this show pending for a long time.Having seen and really liked L in Angel's last mission,now planning to give it a go

L is incredible in this show.Maybe playing an angel comes naturally to these idols but the casting worked big time !

The OSTs have been my go to songs for the last 10 days now.This drama has some of the most pleasant songs ever made !

So right !The whole father episode at the hotel is ripped off from Beauty and the Beast where the father gets stuck at the Beast's castle.

Actually,its a fantasy drama.The story has a Beauty and the beast vibe in reverse genders and there does seem to be a justification so far..

The writers Hong sisters are experts at creating melodrama.Sometimes it works (My girlfriend is a Gumiho,My Girl ,The Greatest love) and sometimes it screws really promising shows (Big,Warm and Cozy,Hwayugi)
Fingers crossed for this one.

No. They seem to go in more for the horror comedy mode here.The one "Scary"scene in ep 1 had me ROFL..

While I get the character traits you are mentioning,I just think this role was more suited to a slightly older and more experienced actress than IU.Would be happy if her role develops here much better in the later eps.

Great writer and director combination .Liked both their last independent shows (School 2017 and Miracle we met)
And I would definitely check out any show with Choi Jin Hyuk in it
