If you feel you have seen all kinds of romance Kdramas, this could be one you haven't.. A big satire on fairytale romances and what they are in reality. The show is frontlined with an INCREDIBLE lead performance from Park Si Hoo-so rich in versatility and a performance you're not likely to forget very easily. And the instrumental OSTs are pure heaven.!
This has now gone from a 9.5 to a 10 now.Seriously, this is THE MOST ENTERTAINING drama of the year so far.The pace is jet fast, action comedy galore and Choi Si Won is creating a lead character for the ages.Lee Yoo Young as Kim Mi Young is not far behind at all . Seriously, the writing cracks me up time and again and the OST choices are also great. This is a cable TV Show playing in Network TV format right now.. Hoping that the good times continue to roll..
This is one of the more dark kdramas-has a fluffy exterior of a romance but many dark layers underneath. It Is well made but the dark moments quite exceed the romance.Usually I give these kind of shows (serial killers etc.) a skip I have started t and may finish it but if you are looking for a happy warm romance ,this isnt it.
Just started this after many days of avoiding it as the themes appeared very heavy -am at ep 4/32 and am loving the show so far. There is an impending sense of doom but the young actors are very good. The cinematography of the show totally stands out.Looks like it may turn out to be one of my faves
Why did you get emotionally in the end? Is it a sad ending?
It's a hapy ending for the leads but they lose friends /supporters along the way. The final scene as the lead becomes the king and reminisces all the people they lost was quite emotional
Just got started on this and am upto ep 5.Looks like a solid show so far. Am especially liking Kim Kwon's mysterious character and the overall cast. Hope this stays good as the truth gets revealed.
Held off watching this for a long time .Just tried this on Netflix and got hooked fast. This show is a treat to the eyes and ears-exquisite cinematography and music selections (esp.the whistle tune)-Also am liking the acting.Liked Yoona a lot for the first time -Jang Geun Suk is a superb fit for both the father and son roles. The rest of the cast is also great. Yes,the overall pace of events is sedate but this show doesnt aim to overly dramatise things A very pleasant surprise in spite of low Ratings and many negative comments.
These kind of shows really work on casting.Healer and K2 both cast Ji Chang Wook in these roles and it looked right on screen for this.So Ji Sub was also superb in My Secret Terius as a man with a past. With no disrespect to the young ML here ,a well established star familiar with action audiences would have worked big time..
I trust this writer to deliver compelling scenarios and he has delivered very well so far in Reset,Yong Pal and The K2. The subject matter here is of a different direction here and while it takes time to settle in,I am really liking this. The OSTs released so far are superb and definitely add to the show. Low ratings dont do this show any justice .People are missing out an amazing atmospheric show.
Just finished watching it and the show really hits is out of the park with its final episode even with a lot of emotional scenes thrown in.Everything is wrapped up satisfactorily and this is one of the best Kdrama endings .. This was a great uplifting experience. One of the show's many nice touches were the quotes that came during end credits-very beautifully presented. The show is really one that will grow on people over time-the music, cinematography, direction, writing, acting (so natural!) are all of superior quality here. Here''s what you feel at the end of the show-As one of my fave lines from the show goes (you'll get it if you see ths show!)-The Moon is beautiful ..
Ended up watching this as Choi Si Won is REALLY good in My Fellow Citizens..Have seen 6 eps so far and this is a decent show so far.Action scenes are nice and there appears to be good lead chemistry. Also really liked Lee Sung Jae as the team leader-he lends a quiet dignity to the role.
Incredible! A potent mix of comedy, action, thriller and drama elements! Choi Si Won is living the role-he fits it to a T.I was in splits throughout ep 2 watching his expressions. Everyone else is also quite good.Has a Chief Kim vibe to it but is far bigger scale wise. What happened in first 2 eps usually takes 5/6 eps in other dramas..It is so fast paced..I may now watch this as it airs.It is that good !
Have finished ep 11/16 and here are some thoughts. The show takes a while to build up but somewhere around Ep 4 truly takes off.Beautiful cinematography, direction and music. All the leads -even second leads have great chemistry .Has some of the best natural comedy scenes too.Not overly dramatic, this does a lot of things well that Something in the Rain, another noona romance, couldn't do.Lee Jong Suk proves yet again he can carry any role and any casting.
While I have liked this PD's shows -The K2 is a fave-,this show mostly flew under the radar for me due to the casting, legal setting, serious themes etc.But saw the Ruler :Master of the mask recently and liked L 's work a lot there and am thinking of checking this out.Is this show good?
Finished it and it became very emotional at the end.Great work by the young cast .Yoo Seung Ho,Kim So Hyun,L,Yoon So Hee gelled so well together-would love to see this cast repeated in the future. One of the more watchable saeguks out there!
Nearing the end and this has been surprisingly good. The plot is quite good and I guess it helps that the actors are quite young and fresh and the proceedings move briskly
Finally finished it!I usually binge shows but this was a show that was a pleasure to take in at a slower pace-leaves you with a lot of good feelings in face of every day struggles. The show got a lot of things right -casting,music,locations (Wow!),direction ,cinematography and writing. Really like the stories of all the tourist (esp. The father /daughter and the older couple) apart from the lead story Go for it if you want a relaxing and heartwarming watch!
Haven't seen the show yet but is giving me good vibes from the OST MVs .Looks a great show in the line of Healer/City Hunter /K2. The songs are superb and both "Forever Love" and "My Everything" are continuous part of my playlists now
