I am also not sure of this statement that he is unavailable to film the drama due to a fan meeting-there seems to be a lot of issues with him and the writer/PD -i last remembered this happening on Cheese in the trap where the main lead Park Hae jin suddenly started playing second fiddle to Seo Kang Joon,had very less scenes and lead to a very strange ending for an otherwise popular show..That was the case of the PD/TVN favoring the second lead.. This is why more shows should be pre produced .
This was on my plan to watch list-am a big fan of Choi Jin Hyuk and binged past the writers last show Unni is Alive but I kept it on hold since the writer dramas have huge cliffhangers and waiting 12 /14 weeks for cliffhangers seems a bit much.. Looking at the comments,Choi Jin Hyuk being out of the way (he should have been the main focus here!) and the way the show is ending ,am glad I waited.. Dont think I will see this now. This writer should stick to weekend family cum makjang dramas.
This show can be called a cousin of Good doctor.Has exceptional acting by Jang Hyuk and is very underrated..Think this character was a big inspiration for the Male lead in Stranger/Forest of secrets.Beautiful OST music
Not even Lee Min ho and Park Shin hye could save this for me.Had started well and has some great music.biggest grouse -illogical and ridiculous love triangle -the writer has learnt a lesson though and has not repeated it in this way in her later dramas. Choi Jin Hyuk was mighty impressive in his role as LMH 's elder brother and their relationship was one of the well done things in the show.
Just saw around 15 mins and can already say this has the makings of another fave.The PD Of whisper/Punch/Empire of Gold and the writer of Chief Kim/Good Doctor -looks a great combination and Kim Nam Gil is fantastic in his opening scenes !
Underrated for sure .I stay miles away from terminal illness dramas and just checked it out of curiosity as it seemed to be celebrating life of cancer patients instead of pitying them and discovered 2 wonderful actors in Kim Hyun Joo and Jo Sang Wook. Their scenes together are basically the best part of the show .The romance part is handled really well.. Really loved the ending.
I never start it due to the traumatic event that happens to a child even though I have liked the work of all 3 leads.. May be one of the dramas I will never watch..
One of the best revenge Kdramas ever -Kim Nam Gil is pure fire in his role here .The ladies (except the apparent lead) are excellent as well .Beautiful score and direction . Still,that ending ! Whatever the reasons (Kim Nam gil being called up for military etc.) This is a show that can do with a revised ending .It leaves you utterly shocked !
This was a hard show to like but if you like revenge /melodrama and makjang elements -which I apparently do- this is one of the best shows in the genre! I sort of knew the story before getting into it but really liked how the show progressed .Song Joong Ki is one of the best actors for this role and you can see the acting abilities throughout the very tough scenes. Moon Chae won was a strong character as well and was basically instrumental in redeeming the very flawed hero and was one of the relatively likeable characters of the show Some ,not all ,of the instrumental themes stayed with me.
Lee Jong Suk takes a different character here - unlike the past one he's not a genius but a hard working common guy who has common fears but acts despite them.
Rewatching this and really enjoying it..It has some of the best young actors cast as eads/supporting actors and has a whole movie like feel-brilliant cinematography and music While a lot of things go on ,the show has a calming effect in the way it is presented !
This is why more shows should be pre produced .
