Rewatching this and rediscovering how good this was.Kim Tae Hee has never been more beautiful and badass..Joo Won epitomises sincerity of purpose and high degree of self sacrifice..Supporting cast/Villains are awesome too
This is the kind of kdrama that can work only with a superb cast and solid direction.A true Kdrama classic with multiple shades and a powerful love story.

Try "W" and "I can Hear your Voice" .If you want a good Hyun Bin show try "Secret Garden"

The OST in this one is brilliant,as was the case in W. Songs like Little Prince and I'm here have been on continuous play with me..
At least the show gave us a good OST

For me,it was Coffee Prince and then City Hunter-think these slightly old style shows (prior to 2010) had incredibly good writing/ movie like set ups..

Sure.I had held off watching Rosy Lovers due to the multiple evil characters too but when the bad turns ton good,the show works a lot..
Coming to the awards,KBS has different award categories for Mon-Tue,Wed-thurs and Weekend dramas-I was saying the choice itself was only between 2 shows. Which aired in most of 2018

It is quite good esp.the main OTP and doesn't play out with usual tropes.Plus one of the cutest child actors ever..

I also count My father is strange as one of my faves but it is unfair to target this show's Ratings -It can then be said that My father is strange and others rode on the success of What happens to my family,My Husband found a family and My daughter Seo Yeong -all ratings giants from KBS-The father daughter bond in this show is one of the best I have seen in Kdramas and the actors are really good in their roles..

Wow..Before making this general comment,you can watch Rosy lovers-the writer's earlier drama-in that show the father was a villain and the grandma and mothers weren't exactly great characters..
This show is at least filled with a few sympathetic characters who are a part of the family

Coming back on whether the show deserves the awards -these awards were for weekend dramas-only KBS weekend dramas that aired in 2018 were this one and Marry me now -both of which won a load of awards in the weekend drama category..It is another factor that I personally feel the actors in this show are better.

Yes! Her act when having dementia episodes is the funniest part of the show !

Chill ! This is a weekend family drama and dont think we are expecting it to be the paragon of progressive /modern feminism like Misty etc..Just coz this show doesn't meet your criteria of feminism doesn't mean there are people who dont like it.This is basically a father daughter relationship show and excels in that category.You may not like it but what you call as sexism is basically old school values -that the show gets ratings of 40% plus must mean a bulk of the watching Korean audience agrees with what the show is presenting.

Hope you saw the earlier episodes too..They were beautifully done in establishing their past connection

Waiting to catch up on the show as there have been many breaks..Kim Yoo Jung could be one of the prettiest international actresses across the world-plus she is insanely talented..(starred in some of my faves like Love in the moonlight,Golden Rainbow etc..)Korean entertainment industry must be producing the best child artistes today and they are maturing effortlessly into great adult actors.

I'm not actually into the whole AR scenario being created in this show fully -W was basically about manga culture which is quite prevalent and felt quite accessible.Still may look at it sometime later..

Just got to fast rewatching this ..Very endearing and heartfelt as earlier esp. The interactions between the 2 Male leads and the female lead..Rarely have I found a second lead so worth rooting for and that probably stems from the likeability factor of Oh Joo wan and his character here. Nam Gung min aces it as the lead and Min Ah ost the surprise package..Beautiful Ost tracks throughout..

I think the idea of a older woman passing herself off as much younger was explored already in Baby faced beauty starring Jan Na Ra and Choi Daniel-Younger was originally a novel that came out in 2005 and hence maybe "inspired " that older drama.
If you haven't seen it already ,do try it ..
